Hello. Hello, Christina here with nursingschoolofsuccess.com and today in this video, we are going to talk about the nursing school supplies that you need to start your nursing school term off. Right. So I've got several things here to show you. Some of them you might not have thought about yet. So I definitely recommend sticking around until the end of the video because you will just love everything I'm going to show you. So as we go through this list, leave a comment below and let me know which one you are most excited to snag and try during your term in nursing school. I really want to know what you're most excited about. So leave a comment below and let me know which one kind of speaks to you the most. Just a little disclaimer here, though. Those are affiliate links, so I will receive a small commission if you do decide to purchase something through using those links. So just, just so you know, you know me, you know I'm not sketchy or anything. So of course I'm never ever gonna recommend something to you that I don't absolutely love. And I'm just like head over heels in love with. So all of these things are like totally my fave. So let's go through them. So the first one is the Nursing Diagnosis Handbook by Ackley and Ladwig. This is an older edition. There is a newer one out, but this one's good. Let's keep this one. So this one actually has the whole Nanda nursing diagnosis list which you need for nursing school. You can get it in this book. You need it. So you pick out a nursing diagnosis and it literally writes your care plans for you. So you choose your nursing diagnosis from that list. You flip to whatever page in the book that that corresponds to and it literally has like the goals, the nursing interventions you could do, the rationales for those interventions, the related two factors that has everything you need in this book to write your care plan. Oh my gosh, girlfriend, it's gonna save you a thousand hours. I could not live without it in nursing school, so I don't want you to live without it either. So that is the first one. It's my top pick. Now the second one we'll talk about is the Davis Drug Guide for Nurses. So if you don't have this already, what you doing with your life? You've gotta get this book. It's for pharmacology and medications because everything you need to know about different drugs and everything super, super easy laid out, once you know kind of how to use it, it will not Only save you time and stress in nursing school, but it can save your patients lives too because you will know everything you need to know about all the drugs you're giving. So it's a super lifesaver. Now the next one we're going to talk about, of course is a stethoscope. So I know that most nurses that you'll talk to. Do you prefer Littman? That's totally cool. I don't have anything against Littman at all, but MDF is the one that I use through nursing school. So mdf, that's what it is. And of course it's hot pink, because I love pink. So this is the stethoscope I used. It is much less expensive than a Littman. I think this one on Amazon right now is like 30 bucks. I think. I think they range from like 25 to 30 bucks. So, whoo, big savings there. So that is the stethoscope that I love. Definitely check that out if you're interested. Now the next thing we'll talk about is hydro flask. Of course it's pink too, because you know, I love pink. So this is a very cool little thing. So it's like a water bottle, coffee mug, everything. It's that vacuum insulated that you've probably heard about maybe somewhere. I think it's called vacuum insulated dual wall where it actually keeps things cold for a long time. Keeps things hot for a long time. So I would use it in nursing school when I would make coffee in the morning, I would fill it with coffee and it would keep the coffee hot for a long time while I was at clinical or lecture class or whatever I was doing that day. And I was away from home for forever. And then after I was done with coffee, I would just rinse it out and fill it with cold water and it would stay cold. So you just pop some cold water and some ice and it's a real like ice cold water bottle for hours and hours and hours. As we're going through these products, let me know in the comments. I'm interested in which one is your favorite and which one you're super excited to try first. So let me know in the comments below and I'd love to talk about them with you there. Now the next one we'll talk about is the Made Incredibly Easy series. So I pulled both of these books off my bookshelf. Pathophysiology and Fluid and Electrolytes. I love these two in particular. There are a ton of books in this series. The Maid, it's called The Made Incredibly Easy series. There's a ton of books in this series, but the what the two that I really like the most are pathophysiology and fluid and electrolytes. If you are in nursing fundamentals, there is an assessment one as well. These are primarily for med surg fluid and electrolytes. You'll need for fundamentals as well too, so I definitely recommend those. They make all of the concepts so easy to understand. It is really made easy. They break it down really, really well so you don't have to struggle to learn it. So it's going to save you a ton of time. Now, the next one we're going to talk about is a little bit different that you may not have thought about, but I had to bring it up because it is one of my favorites and I love it. And that is a crock pot. So you might think I'm crazy, but without it my family would eat ever because I don't know how to cook unless it's in a crock pot. So I actually. So not only do I have that crock pot, but I have this book here, make it fast, Cook it slow. It's by Stephanie o' Day and I really love this book. You can actually see I've got tabs all over the place. I use this book so much. I use that crock pot so much. It is so easy in nursing school. It makes it so much easier to cook things because you literally it's set it and forget it. So before you go to clinical, before you go to lecture class, before you go out and do your nursing stuff, you just pop some chicken and whatever sauce in there and turn it on low for eight to 10 hours and you've got dinner when you get home. It just makes it so easy. And if there's anything that we can do while in nursing school to save time and make things easy, that's what we want to do right now. The next thing I want to talk about is the nclex RN Mastery app. Now, I can't really show this to you because I'm recording right now on my phone. It's by the NCLEX RN Mastery App. That's what it's called by higher learning technologies. And so you just download this app on your phone and it's an NCLEX Questions app. It has thousands of NCLEX practice questions for you to practice with. So when you go to your nursing school exams, you're going to be more prepared and know more kind of how the NCLEX Questions are written. So you're not going to get to a nursing school exam and be like, oh my gosh, I've never seen this style of question before. Because girlfriend, nursing school exam questions are written totally different than any other questions you've seen in like AP or any of your prereqs. So you've got to know how to answer nclex style questions and the nclex RN Mastery app is going to help you do that so well. So I loved this app in nursing school. It's the one that I used personally to help prepare me for nursing school exams. Not only did it help me get into the mindset of answering nclex style questions, but it will also help you study for those topics that you're studying that are on your exam. So basically how the app is set up, you have it on your phone and then it has categories for like med surg, pharmacology, cardiac, all the different body systems and disorders and all the topics that you're studying. So you just click on one of those topics and so whatever you're studying, just click on that topic and then you'll answer questions related to that topic. So you're doing two things. You're practicing nclex style questions which will help you on your exam because it's a totally different way of thinking and you're also at the same time studying for your test. So it's super cool. Highly recommended. That link is down below. Now the last thing we will talk about is a free med surg study checklist that I've got for you. That link is down below. So this whole checklist will walk you through step by step how to study Med Surg in Nursing School. I made it super easy for you. It focuses on the four main things that you have got to know about each of the med search topics you're studying. Instead of memorizing and learning all of these things like every single sentence in your textbook, right? You are going to focus on these four main things that I walk you through in the checklist. Those are the four main things that you're going to be tested on in nursing school and med surg classes. So those are the things I recommend that you you focus your study time on. So you can download that checklist down below. That link is down there for you to snag that totally download it. It's going to help you so much. So these are all the things that I recommend for to help you start nursing school next term to hit the ground running and really get really good grades these books. I mean, the Care Plan book, the Davis Drunk Guide book, the Made Easy series. Those are going to help you so much so in the nclex RN Mastery app. Woo girlfriend. Seriously, really, really consider getting those things and at least checking them out, because it's going to save you a ton of time. So I hope these resources helped you out again. All those links are down below. Leave a comment below. Let me know which one you're most excited to try first, or which ones you're gonna snag. I want to hear from you. I can't wait to chat with you in the comments, and I will talk to you later. Go become the nurse that God created you to be. I'll catch you next time. Bye Bye.
