All right, so the nursing test taking strategy we're going to talk about is that patient safety is always your number one priority. Now, nursing exams are intended to test your knowledge and skill with how you'll act as a fully licensed nurse. And as a nurse, your number one priority should always be the safety of your patients. So of course your nursing exams are gonna put this to the test to make sure that you prioritize patient safety. So to get a better example about what I mean by this, let's walk through an example nursing exam question. Now, this exam question comes from the nclex RN Mastery app. And this is the app that I actually use through nursing school. And I highly recommend that you use it too to help you get more familiar with nursing ex questions. Of course, friend, you know that I never ever recommend something that I don't love. I can't stress it enough how much this app helped me during nursing school. So there isn't a link. There is a link down below this video for you to snag it if you'd like. And like I said, the nursing test taking strategy that we'll talk about is that patient safety is your number priority. So if there is an answer that has something to do with keeping the patient safe, that answer is most likely the correct one. So let's read an example nursing school question. A newly admitted adolescent is being questioned by the nurse in regards to his health history. The nurse should follow up on which of the following patient's statements. I only eat vegetables and I have lost 10 pounds in the last three three weeks. I have a lot of trouble waking up in the morning. My mood is always changing. When I am stressed out, I like to see my girlfriend. All right, so this nursing exam question is asking you to select which statement you should assess further with your patient. So looking at this question you can see that one of the answers in particular just screams patient safety. And it's answer number one, the patient stating that they have lost 10 pounds in the past three weeks. Out of all of the other answers which mostly involve kind of mood or emotions, that first answer has more to do with patient safety, with the safety of your patient. So number one in this situation is the correct answer and that is your nursing test taking strategy to help you out with your nursing exams. Patient safety should be your number one priority and make sure sure that you snag the nclex RN Mastery app to get access to thousands, thousands of nursing exam questions just like this one.
