Note Taking Tip Number one Make a plan for how you'll take notes beforehand and go into class prepared. I recommend printing out your lecture slides ahead of time. You can write directly on the slides and all of your notes will be in one place. Number two Use shorthand or bullet points to make sure that you're catching as much of what your instructor says during lecture as possible. You'll most likely be tested on the topics that you cover in class, so make sure that you catch as much as possible so you don't miss something important. Number three Meet with your instructor directly after class if you missed something and ask for clarification. You don't want to take the chance and miss points on your exam just because you missed something in class and didn't ask. It will pay off when the exam comes around, and it will show your instructor how much you care and are dedicated to passing.
