I think this will also shock you. I decided myself that I have done enough role play as a Kalyabdia. Now it's time to become Arjuna. I was a storyteller, but I used to tell my stories in my native language, that is in Bengali. So first, my message to all newcomer or or any storyteller, that the biggest things you will face in your life. So those who are thinking to be the next storyteller, so they must destroy these two big syndromes. If you want to run fast, then run alone. But if you want to travel long distance, means if you want to travel far, then run together. You need some listeners, you need some friends. Then only the journey is enjoyable.
Hey everyone, welcome to another interview. So you would have noticed that we have done a lot of interviews in the past of 21 Day Video Confidence Challenge. Guess what? We did another challenge in Confidence Storytelling Hub which was called Freedom to Speak 21-Day Story Pro Challenge. And I'm very, very pleased and happy to share that now on we are going to interview the finishers of that challenge, the new finishers. We had some people who completed the challenge once again, but we want to acknowledge the newer ones. So you'll be seeing lot of new, uh, interviews coming up. And first up there is Mr. Amit Biswas. So I'm just going to add him to the spotlight. Hi, Amit, how are you?
Ah, fine, absolutely fine.
Awesome. Excited for the interview?
Yes, yes. Awesome.
So let's start with your introduction. So tell us a bit about yourself.
Yeah, I belong from a small town. It is located in Mushidabad. In part of West Bengal, exactly the center of West Bengal. So from there I born and brought up. After that, I went to Calcutta, then Chennai, then Bangalore, again Chennai, then Ahmedabad, then Rohtak, then Faridabad, and finally I am there at Nagpur. As a background, I did my engineering in metallurgy. And did my MBA in sales and marketing. For last 18 years, I am working in sales and marketing profession. So this is my small background. Amazing.
And I can see you have traveled to many places and you're part of sales and marketing apart from other engineering domain. So tell us, uh, how long have you been part of Content Storytelling Hub?
I think this will also shock you. I have watched your first webinar, that is free webinar, in the month of January 2023.
Wow.
So if you, if you count the days or years, it is 2 years and 6 months since I followed you.
Wow, thank you.
Accidentally, accidentally you came to my spotlight. I don't know, I can't remember from where I got your contact, maybe through Facebook, or maybe through some other social network. And as I am a storyteller from my college days, so certainly God has gifted you. Then in Mahabharata, there is one character called Ekalavya. Yes. Who learn the art by hiding. So, I followed you from a long distance. I have learned a lot of things from you. And finally, I become Arjuna, means under the spotlight. I decided myself, that I have done enough role play as Teclapia. Now it's time to become Arjunan. So I have joined in your Storytelling Hub in August 2025, exactly 2 years and 6 months later.
It's been a month that you have been part of this community, and when you joined this 21 Days Toning Pro Challenge, the Freedom to Speak Challenge was going on. So you joined in between, but I noticed you still completed that. You took it right in the right spirit and completed that. So I want to know, what was your experience like joining this challenge?
So after completing the challenges, I feel excited, and, uh, there is always, uh, one thing in my mind that I have started many things, but I couldn't able to finish that. And this was something which I have started and I have accomplished it now within stipulated time. So that's give me confidence and that's give me faith on myself and a kind of satisfactions which can't be expressed, which can't be only understood. I am really very much excited and feel satisfied when I completed this 21-day challenge.
That's excellent. And yes, thank you for participating in this. My next question to you would be about that it is all about journey. And even in storytelling, you said that unless we have something which is lacking, there's some challenges, it's not fun. So I want to know what was the problems or challenges that you faced during this challenge and how did you overcome those?
Yeah, the biggest problem of, uh, this challenges is to how to talk in front of camera. Earlier I have a perception and, uh, I had a practical experience also because whatever I did I did either through one-to-one interaction, that is physical interactive meetings, one-to-one, or maybe one-to-others, all physical. Then when Zoom started during the COVID time, we are habituated to have a meeting in webcam through Zoom or Teams, but that also somebody was there virtually. Opposite to us. So we can have interact, we know whom we are talking. But during these challenges, it's very odd situations for me, because you have to talk in front of camera, which feels something odd to you. That is not so much familiar. And it means initially, if you do it, then only you can understand. Earlier you might have many perceptions about that, "Yes, it's not a big deal." But when you are actually facing it, then you will know the actual pain. And next problem is that I am unable to express myself. In front of camera, I become a robot from a human. I couldn't able to express myself. I don't know what is happening. To me, something has put on me and make me robot. So that is the big challenge I face during this journey. And slowly I am trying to recovering it, that I know that it will be overcome, but it need consistency and I need to practice more.
So that's why I am here, and I can definitely see a lot of progress from the very first video that you posted to where you are speaking very confidently. And you also posted your longest ever video in the group. It is amazing. So I'm really happy to see your progress. And as you very well said, that consistency is something that builds confidence, right? For most of us, we are not born confident, so we build confidence by consistently doing things which are little bit uncomfortable for us, but once we, once we keep doing that, we become more and more comfortable with that. And yes, camera confidence is one part of it. So now I want to know, in this journey, you would have had a few aha moments, a few breakthrough moments. So tell us about one of those moments where you're like, wow.
The first wow moment is The day I completed the 21 project, because when I see the scoreboard, though for many of the people we have one scoreboard, every day Mr. Haritosh Srivastav used to update how many challenges you have completed and who are the pending. So that gives me boost that I am lagging behind how many videos and the people who are going ahead of me. So that boosts me actually, that actually forced me to leave my comfort zone. And I tried to push my limit. And whatever the best things I can do, I just do it. Yes. So that's the wow moment or aha moment for me that gives me a lot of confidence and encouragement to myself. Absolutely.
And as they say, it's very easy to start something and it's easier to quit something midway, but to complete whatever you take on takes a lot of courage and perseverance. And great, and you really showed that. So thank you and congratulations. So now let's talk about— you were part of the challenge, you completed the challenge. What is now afterwards. So what has been the impact of undergoing this challenge?
The impact of undergoing the challenges is, and for my future, uh, journey or endeavor, is that, uh, earlier I was a storyteller, but I used to tell my stories in my native language, that is in Bengali. And I have very limited viewers or listeners. But my next challenge is from local to the global. Yes, so now I emphasize my storytelling in English so that I can reach to the global listeners or global audience. So, my journey started from a local storyteller to a global storyteller. And this is just the beginning.
Absolutely. And this is, as they say, tip of the iceberg. You are just scratching the surface. So all the best and wishing you the best for this. Now, you know, we have a lot of people in the community and we have people who will watch this interview as well. And you yourself, as you said, have been the Ik Love Ya for last 2 and a half years. What is your message for anyone who wants to go on this journey of building confidence, learning about storytelling, etc.
So first, my message to all newcomers or any storytellers is that the biggest things you will face in your life are two traps or two shackles or two diseases. One is perfectionism, 100% perfect syndrome. So it looks very easy, we know it. But the thing is that this is a mental trap. So whatever you do, you will feel that, oh, this is not the best. So it can be further, can be modified, can be enhanced. And if you fall in trap with this particular disease, you can never go ahead. You can never travel the distance. So first, the challenges you need to overcome is the 100% perfect syndrome. Yeah, disease. And the second thing is more bigger disease. It's called procrastination.
Oh, yes.
That is, I will do it tomorrow. And the reality is that tomorrow never comes. So I have many things in my personal life, professional life. But because of this procrastination trap, I am not able to do many things. But when I joined this community, I broke these two challenges, and my journey started. So those who are thinking to be the next storyteller, so they must destroy these two Pick syndromes, 100% perfect syndrome and procrastination syndrome.
I love that answer. And yes, all of us have gone through somewhere and many of us are going through. So I don't say that I'm not part of that because yes, at times I also feel that perfectionism or perfection syndrome that you feel like, okay, I can do a little better. But I believe progress over perfection is better. So whatever you did yesterday, even if you improve little bit over, over on that, it is still better than trying to be perfect and not doing at all. And the biggest, uh, problem that we have, or cancer we have right now in the world, is the procrastination. So thank you for— we need to destroy both of this, both of these, to progress ourselves, to progress our society and the nation. Thank you so much. So now the last question is, you joined Confidence Storytelling Hub after being part of Outside World for 2 and a half years. Now, would you recommend anyone who— anyone should join Confidence Storytelling Hub? What is your take on that?
Yeah, so first, uh, I would answer it differently. Yes, so there is a proverb in English, if you want to run fast, then run alone. But if you want to travel long distance, means if you want to travel far, then run together.
Yes.
So, if you want to travel long distance in storytelling, means as a storytelling area, so if you run, yes, you can run faster alone. But if you want to travel long, if you want to make some impact, in this world, if you want to spread your legacy even after your death, then you have to work together. And the thing is, you need some supports, you need some listeners, you need some friends. Then only the journey is enjoyable. Then only when you travel the distance, you will not feel the loneliness and you will feel encouragements. So, those who are dreaming to be the good storyteller in the long terms, those who want to make impact, those who want to spread some legacy, so for them, I will strongly recommend, please join this community because Stephen Covey said that when the similar mind of people join together and working towards a common goal, then it, it enhance. It's called synergy. And the power of synergy, we already seen. There are a lot of examples. The best example is Google. The Sergey Brin and Larry Page The two mindset people join hand together and working towards common goal, and the result, and, and it become history. Everybody knows Google. So like in the field of storytelling also, if you working towards similar kind of people through this storytelling hub, the world is waiting for him.
Thank you so much. I really, really Appreciate that. So congratulations once again, Amit, for successfully completing the Freedom to Speak 21 Days Story Pro Challenge. I can't wait for what is in store for you. And for the viewers, we are kickstarting the new challenge, and I'm very sure Amit is going to participate in that. So if you are someone who wants to learn about storytelling, if you're someone who wants to grow with the community together, do reach out. We'll love to have you. Thank you so much. And as I say every time, until next time, keep learning, keep growing, and keep going out of your comfort zone. Story power to you.
