In this instructional video, the presenter guides participants of the CSH Communication Blueprint Challenge on how to ethically influence others to take action. The speaker distinguishes persuasion from manipulation, emphasizing that influence is a daily activity for managers, parents, entrepreneurs, and coaches. The core teaching is the CARE framework—Connect, Add Value, Reason, Encourage action—explained with a concrete example about how communication skills, not just technical ability, drive career advancement. Learners are then assigned a practical challenge: create a 1‑2 minute persuasive video on any topic, applying the CARE steps, and later review peers' videos using the SPARK feedback framework. The overall message stresses building trust, clarity, and value rather than pushing opinions, and encourages participants to foster understanding that leads to natural influence.

Hey, Confidence Storytellers! Welcome to Day 6 of CSH Communication Blueprint Challenge. So far, you have learned how to communicate with confidence, structure your ideas, tell meaningful stories, and make your message memorable. Today, we are going to answer an important question: How do you influence someone to take action? Because communication is not just about speaking, it's also about helping people think differently, feel differently, and sometimes act differently. When people hear the word persuasion, they often think of manipulation or sales, but persuasion is much bigger than that. Every day you persuade someone. A manager persuades a team to adopt a new idea. A parent persuades a child to build good habits. An entrepreneur persuades a customer to trust their product and solution. A coach persuades a client to believe in themselves. So influence is a part of our everyday life. You know what? People rarely change because of facts alone. They change when they understand why something matters to them. And that's why effective communication don't push their opinion. Effective communicators don't push their opinions. They create clarity, they create trust, and they create value. Today you are going to use CARE framework, which will help you to persuade someone. So again, this is an acronym. So C stands for Connect. You want to start by acknowledging, acknowledging the audience situation or challenge. Show that you understand them. Then A stands for Add Value, where you want to share an idea, example, story or solution, and you need to explain how this will help. Then R stands for reason. You want to support your message with logic, evidence, or personal experience because you want to answer why should they believe you. And you want to end with E, which is encourage action, which is you want them to end with one simple action. What should they do next? Let me give an example. Many professionals believe communication is only important for public speakers. I used to think the same, but after years in corporate, I realized that people who get promoted were not always the smartest, but they were the one who could communicate the ideas clearly and influence others. So if you want to grow in your career, don't just improve your technical skills, also improve your communication skills. So what's the one thing that you can do to improve your communication skills today? Did you see the framework in action? So here is your today's challenge. I want you to record a 1 to 2 minute persuasive video where you convince your audience about one idea you genuinely believe in. You can choose any topic. I'm giving you certain example if you want help. For example, why everyone should read books, why feedback accelerates growth, why storytelling matters, why networking is essential, why exercise should be a priority, why you should be a lifelong learner, why communication is a career game changer. I've given you a list of topic, but you can choose any other topic as well. And in the video, as you record the video, ask yourself: did I connect with my audience? Did I explain the value clearly? Did I support my idea with a reason or example? And did I end with a clear call to action? While watching your teammates, your community members' video, observe that— did they build trust? Was the message convincing enough? Did they balance emotion and logic? And were you actually inspired to act? And then use the SPARK framework to provide meaningful feedback. Today's challenge is not about winning an argument. It is about helping someone see a new possibility. Watch your, watch your team members and community members video with an open mind. Ask questions, share different perspective. Great communicators don't just speak, they create meaningful conversation. I'll leave you with this thought. The goal of communication is not to prove that you are right. The goal is to create an understanding, and when understanding grows, influence naturally grows. So go out there, share an idea you believe in, speak with clarity, lead with purpose, and remember, people don't resist change, they resist being forced. So help them discover the change for themselves. I'm looking forward to your video. Story power to you.
