Telling one story a month won't make you a good storyteller. You need to practice constantly, like building muscle. Write stories, deliver them, get feedback, repeat.

If you wanted to have a six-pack abs this year, what would you do? If you're like most other people, you'll probably sit down, you make a plan, and then try to hit the gym consistently. You would lift, you would sweat, you would push yourself. What you wouldn't do is try to show up for the gym once in a month and then somehow expect the miracles to happen. But that's exactly how most other people think about storytelling. They think that they might share a story once in every fortnight, once in a month, and within a short amount of time they'll become the most magnetic, the most amazing, confident storyteller. Well, let me break that for you. You might become, but it is going to take forever. Just like you do reps in gym, you need to start having the habit of storytelling, which means that you start writing stories, you start delivering stories, you start getting feedback. And once you do it over and over and over again, that's when you'll be able to see the impact of it.
