Hey, Haritosh Srivastav, would you like to give a book talk? This was just after I had launched my first book, Small Town Bigger Dreams, and I was barely trying to understand the identity that I am an author, and some book club asked me to deliver an author talk. My first instinct was, hey, I'm just an author, how can I deliver value? But that's when my mentor's voice came into my mind. If you get an opportunity and you're still not sure what to do, say yes and then figure it out. So I said, yes, I would love to do an author talk. What do you want me to focus on? And then we delivered a session about 30 minutes. My message to you is, at a lot of times, you will get an opportunity. Somebody might ask you to speak. Somebody might ask you to deliver a session. And your inner voice, the first response would be, no, you can't do that. You haven't done that. You are not pro at that. You are not expert. At that time, I want you to remember my voice, which is, when you get an opportunity, say yes first and then figure it out.
