Story Spark 4 - Identity of a Storyteller

In this 60‑minute group coaching session titled “Story Spark 4 – Identity of a Storyteller,” the lead facilitator (Speaker A) guides participants through a structured visualization exercise aimed at helping them embody a confident storyteller identity. Participants are asked to close their eyes, breathe, and picture themselves six months ahead speaking on a stage, podcast, or virtual audience with confidence. After the visualization, they journal in present‑tense about how they appear, feel, and what they say. The group then shares their visualizations: Venkat imagines delivering a TEDx talk about vulnerability; Dr Alka envisions a stage appearance where she adapts in real‑time to audience cues; Dinesh visualizes speaking to thousands and booking 100 podcasts, noting a shift from nervousness to calm confidence. The facilitator leads a series of spoken affirmations (“I am a powerful storyteller,” “I speak with clarity, courage, and connection,” “My stories inspire change”) that participants repeat aloud. The session also includes logistical notes about upcoming mastermind meetings, the role of the Confidence Storytelling Hub, and encouragement to continue practicing self‑talk and visualization. The overall purpose is to align participants’ self‑concept with their desired storyteller identity, boost confidence, and foster a supportive community.

Good to have you for the first time. Awesome. So let's get started up on a spotlight myself for the recording. Okay, awesome. So today we're going to do another powerful session And this is related to identity. That's called identity of a storyteller. A lot of time we feel that we are not acting in alignment with who we think we are. We're not acting in alignment with who we think we are. And as a storyteller, we need to build our identity. So that is what we are going to do as part of this. We are going to do again a guided visualization where I want you to— if you don't have that pen and paper ready, get that pen and paper ready. We're going through a small visualization exercise, and once we are done with the visualization exercise, I'm going to give you certain journaling prompts, and I want you to note it down, and then we are gonna discuss what were the outcome out of that. Okay, so everybody clear with what is the, what is the activity? Okay, so let's get started. I'm gonna play the background music. I want you to close your eyes and start taking deep breaths. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Now I want you to imagine yourself 6 months from now. You have become a powerful, confident storyteller. You are on your favorite stage. Maybe you're doing a live session in front of hundreds of audience. Maybe you're recording a podcast or a YouTube video. Maybe you are addressing a large virtual audience. Want you to visualize yourself speaking with confidence. Exuding confidence. As you speak, people are observing, listening intently. You are calm, composed, yet you are dynamic. You are expressing. You know, this was the talk that you have been preparing for months, years, and now that you have mastered it, you can see yourself shining. Visualize yourself and notice what are you saying? How does your voice sound to your audience? Your audience reacting and responding to what you're saying.
Feel it.
This is your moment. Own this moment. This is your truth. And own this truth. Be in the state for another few seconds. Slowly start to come back As you come back, slowly open your eyes. And now start journaling. I want you to write the following answers to the following question. Number 1, how do you describe yourself as a storyteller when you saw in that visualization? Attracting, how are you showing up? What is it that you feel when you, when you saw yourself owning the identity of a storyteller. Write it in present tense, not in future tense. So write it that I am, or I do, or I have. Write it for another 30 seconds, and then we are going to go to the experience sharing section.
10 seconds.
Right, we are done. So let's start the experience sharing with Venkat. Venkat, how was your experience?
Yes.
And what, what came out of this visualization?
I'm speaking, uh, in at the TED Talk show.
Somehow I'm not able to hear. Give me a second. Yes, can I speak something?
Hello?
Yes, I can hear you. Sorry.
Yes, I am speaking in the TED Talk show. So in front of the audience and the spotlight, I wore I wear a coat and share my story, my bodybuilding story, and how I changed my, changed my introvert to upskill my things. So I visualized that, and in that I said about vulnerability is power. So what is your weak, identify then if you approach, that is the your, um, big path to your life. That I share to the audience.
Awesome, that was amazing. And everybody write SPTY, Story Power To You. Thank you so much for sharing. Let's go to Dr. Alka, and we'll go to Dineshji. Unmute yourself, Dr. Alka.
Yes, I've had moments in my life and I'm standing on stage. I'm connecting with the audience. I'm looking at their nods. I'm looking at their smiles. And suddenly, suddenly, I find somebody looking into the phone. Somebody, I find that somebody looking away. And then I change the trajectory of my speech. I change the way I'm talking. And then I already know what my audience is about, what the pain points. I've already known that. And then when I see that they're getting distracted, then I change everything and then I bring myself back to what they really want. And then again, the connection happens. So I'm there standing on the stage, natural, conversational, and confident. So this is what I'm imagining myself. I'm dressed in a white colored suit and I'm wearing a red color stole. So this was my— when I presented myself the last time. But now I think I'll change the color. Now I'll imagine a different color. That's what I was imagining. Thank you so much.
Awesome. Thank you so much for sharing. Story power to you as well. And welcome, Dineshji. Good to have you joining the session live. Would love to hear your experience as well. Please unmute. Yes.
Oh well. I literally dream that not in front of her, thousands of people are there where I'm speaking. Because of that, people have stood up and given their names. So I have booked for 100 podcasts in this current year.
Amazing.
The most important thing that I today I recollected and realized from your today dreaming is I am a bit nervous and not that calm. I speak with hurry and upsetness. So this time I spoke with all relaxed, calm, and confident mood. That was the best part I could do, or I imagined.
Thank you so much for sharing. And yes, SPTY, Story Power to you as well. So thank you so much, all of you, for sharing your experiences. And it is a powerful exercise when you can visualize yourself. And as with the previous session, we are now going to go into the Affirmation mode, and you're going to see the affirmation on the screen. I'm going to speak once and then I want all of you, all of us to repeat the affirmation in loud voice. So please make sure you are unmuted. Alka ji, please unmute. So the first affirmation is, I am a powerful storyteller. I am powerful storyteller. Awesome. Unmute Dinesh ji as well. Let's go to the second one. I speak with clarity, courage, and connection. Everyone. I speak with clarity, courage, and connection. Awesome. And let's go to the final affirmation. My stories inspire change. Everyone, my stories inspire change. Awesome. Story power to all of you. I hope you found the session useful. And it's 6:15. Anybody wants to share any experience? Otherwise, we'll call it a day. I'll probably hear it. I'll first like to hear from Dineshji because it's his first day here, so would love to hear your thoughts.
First of all, this is the third or fourth session. How come I missed it? So I'm sorry.
No problem.
But I will see that I'm regular. And thanks to your platform, I'm working on it. Thanks to Venkateshji who is really supporting me. So yes, and this shows in my show because as I say that I'm a podcaster and I do my show there. I'm doing really all this teaching or the specially fine points that Venkatesh has pointed out and trying to implement over there. I'm getting the result, I'm getting the offers. So yes, it's working, it's working very well.
So yeah, Venkatraman, or Venkat as we call him, is amazing. So yes, he is 100%. That is why he is the certified facilitator now from Confidence Storytelling Hub. Okay, Alka ji, how was your experience today?
So the thing is that when you visualize and when you imagine, a lot of other parts of your brain get activated. So something which you have not thought of also comes into your mind. So visualization is a very pleasant exercise and it makes you very happy. Like when Venkat said, I'm on TEDx stage and I'm having— and when the sir said that thousands of people are there and listening to me. So that gives you a lot of happiness and lot of your parts of the brain are activated. So thank you for that visualization and that imagination exercise.
Awesome. Venkat, last but not the least.
Yes, thanks Dinesh ji. Actually, you are the main motivator for the Conference Storytelling Hub group.
Yes, yes.
And in the today's session, I understand that I missed a lot of affirmations and visualizations technique previously, but nowadays I am practicing because of this morning's stories POC session. So that is very useful, that is very important to us. Self-talk is very important. So that we are doing. Thank you, thank you so much.
Awesome, thank you so much. So yes, and today is Friday, so we are going to have mastermind session in the evening. So I'll be sharing the details in the group. It will be around 7:30 or 8 PM Indian Standard Time, so maybe a little late for Dinesh, but the recording will be available. Within 24 hours, so you can go through the recording. So thank you so much, have a great rest of the day. And yeah, if not in the Mastermind session, I'll see you tomorrow at the same time for the Story Spark session. Have a great rest of the day, take care, keep sharing your story, keep inspiring change.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank
