Story Spark Day 11 - Storytelling Affirmations

In this 45‑minute virtual StorySpark session, facilitator Haritosh Srivastav leads three participants—Harsha, Venkat, and Rajesh—through a structured confidence‑building exercise centered on twelve positive storytelling affirmations. The facilitator first models each affirmation, then asks participants to repeat them aloud, gradually assigning each person a set of two affirmations to lead. After the initial read‑through, the group practices stressing specific “power” words (e.g., story, power, transform, inspire, confidence, authenticity) to shift from a passive to an emphatic delivery. Participants share brief reflections on how the stressed delivery feels more energetic and impactful compared to the first, more neutral reading. Throughout, the facilitator emphasizes the role of vocal emphasis in internalizing the affirmations, linking the practice to personal branding, influence, and leadership development. The session ends with a promise to share the affirmation sheet for daily practice, reinforcing the habit of using stressed affirmations to build storytelling confidence.
Chapters
Good morning, Harsha.
How are you? I'm fine.
Good. Okay, let's start the StorySpark session. Today we are going to do what is— we have done many times, but I think it's a good reminder for us to gain confidence. And this week, as I said earlier, is all about setting mindset and confidence. So we are going to do our Confident Storytelling Affirmation. So what is going to happen is there will be certain affirmation coming on screen, and we have got 12 affirmations in total. So what I'm gonna do is I'll give you an example by starting one affirmation, and so I will speak the affirmation first, and then all of us will follow that, and I want all of us to unmute during this whole process so that we can give each other energy. And after the first one, I'm gonna ask someone to repeat, to do the same for next 2 affirmations, and then next 2 affirmations accordingly. So let's get started. Please unmute yourself. Hi Venkat, hi Rajesh. So you can unmute and let's start with the first affirmation. So I'm going to read the affirmation first. And then you will repeat. So the first affirmation: my story has the power to transform lives and inspire change.
Everyone together: my story has the power to transform lives and inspire change.
Okay, next two will be done by Harsha. Haritosh Srivastav will lead, and then we all will.

And I'll finish up with the last one. I continuously refine my storytelling craft, growing as a leader and communicator. Everybody say story power to you all. One more round, and we are going to actually, uh, this time I want you to— let me go again. And this time what I want you to do is I want you to stress on particular words which meaningful. So that way it will become more affirmative. For example, in the first one, you want to say my story. So you stress on story, stress on word power, stress on word transform, stress on word inspire and change. So I'm gonna say, and then we all will practice that. That way our— this way we will also be practicing on specific words. So just notice how I am saying, uh, not every word in the same way. So, my story has the power to transform life, inspire change.
Let's try it together.

Continuously refine my storytelling craft, growing as a leader and communicator.
Awesome, everybody! Story power to you all! How did you feel? I think you can— background. So we'll go around the room. So how did you feel the first time, and what was the change in the second time when you had a specific stress on specific words? Yes, Harsha.
Yes, it is amazing. It was very good. Uh, it means— yes, I want to add something. Yesterday I felt very happy. Because I met my friend, old friend yesterday. Yes, yesterday was totally positive waves, totally, because of you. Early morning you gave positive vibration to us.
Yes.
So, so that's why today I came.
Love that.
Thank you, thank you for giving us very good guidance to us.
Thank you, my pleasure. And this is what the story Spark Session is— spark the positivity. Awesome. So let's go to Rajesh. How did you feel the first time and also the second time when, when I realized that the first time is becoming little mundane, so I have to do something? Okay, so I'll let you speak.
So this what I realized, the first time when we were just reading, so we were just focused on the meaning of this. The second time when you emphasized us that where exactly we have to which put pressure. So that meaning was very much clear, and what exactly the actual meaning of that statement was, that came out a second time.
Yes, yes, absolutely.
That's a more concentrative second time, correct?
And you can also feel the energy of the word when you put stress on the right word. Okay, Venkat, I'll let you unmute. And what was your experience like?
Yes, in the first reading, just is like a passive reading, and the next one is active and feel through the body, whole body.
Correct.
The second one.
Absolutely.
And I will do hereafter.
Yes. So every time, not only for affirmation, every time— I mean, what happens if you do it so many times, it becomes part of you. That is why When I speak now, most of the times I am automatically— see, I use the stress, the word automatically, automatically. So, but in the start you have to train yourself. So how do you do that is by specifically stressing on the power words. So when we use this affirmation sheet, look at which are the power words, because you don't want to, you don't want to give same importance to every word. Is, am, are, not required. But the word like, no, Authenticity, personal branding, influence. When you put it more, when you put a little extra stress on that, you can also feel energy, and this is the better way of reciting the affirmation. Okay, so wishing you all, it is 6:15, so more story power to you all. I'm going to also share the affirmation sheet in the group, so you can take, download, and try it every day. It will really help you. All right, so thank you so much. Have a great day.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Haritosh Srivastav. Thank you everyone. Have a wonderful day.
Have a good day. Take care.
