In this 23rd Story Spark session, Haritosh Srivastav leads a live workshop focused on how tone, voice projection, and emotional authenticity shape storytelling. The session begins with a "tone mashup" exercise where the participant (Speaker B) repeats the same sentence while adopting different emotions—excited, angry, fearful, etc.—to experience how vocal modulation conveys feeling. A second exercise uses the prompt "I'll never forget that" to explore varied emotional deliveries. After the drills, Haritosh prompts a reflective discussion; Speaker B notes that true tone emerges when recalling personal experiences, emphasizing mindfulness, habit formation, and the importance of pauses. Haritosh reinforces this, highlighting the role of brief pauses in shifting tone. The workshop concludes with three daily affirmations aimed at strengthening the speaker’s connection, energy, intention, and clarity of voice. The session ends with a preview of upcoming changes to the Story Spark format.

Awesome! So welcome to day 23 of StorySpark session. We are getting into the last week of StorySpark session for this month. So today's session is called Emotion, Echo, and Voice Sculpting. The way we use our tone makes all the difference. And that's what we are going to do, because our emotions are shown through the tone, through the voice projection that we have. So that's what we are going to do. We are probably not going to do a journaling today. We are going to do probably 2 or 3 exercises where you will be seeing the same sentence, but you will be bringing up different emotions by use of the tones. So let's start right away with the first one. This is called tone mashup exercise. So this is one sentence, and after this you're gonna see a series of tone, the way you're gonna say that, and we're gonna see the difference. So, so for example, You won't believe what happened yesterday. So this is the excited tone where you just like, you just won a prize or something like that. Now I want you to do, enact the next ones. If we had more people, I would have asked people to participate separately, but it's okay. So we'll go with the second one.
Okay, so you won't believe what happened yesterday.
Great.
Angry. You won't believe what happened yesterday.
Nice.
This is very common sentence I use. You won't believe what happened yesterday. You won't believe, yeah, what happened yesterday.
Okay, awesome. So this was one round, and if we had more people, I would have done differently. But let's go. I've got, I think, 3, yeah, maybe 3 or 4 different variation of the same. So let's go to the second one, and I want you to take the lead. So the question is, uh, the sentence is, I'll never forget that. So let's start with the first emotion.
I'll never forget that.
Mm, next.
I never forget that. And you, like someone is betrayed you here. Okay. I'll never forget that. Afraid. Something scary is there. I can never forget. Forget that.
Nice. Last one.
I'll never forget that.
Excellent. Great job. You want to try one more, or should we—
one more, one more, one more.
Okay, so others' loss is your gain.
Okay. I saw it happen right in front of me. Okay.
Right. And the emotions are going to be the same?
I saw it happen right in front of me. I saw it happen right in front of me. I saw it happen right in front of me. I saw it happen right in front of me. I saw it happen right in front of me.
Awesome, great job! And story power to you, excellent job! You were able to switch between different emotions. Awesome. So let's go for reflection now. What was your reflection from today's— this exercise doing on the spot, changing emotion?
It's the same thing because I always tell myself that I will perform in a certain way, but when I go on the stage, I forget about all these things. So for me, I, I am realizing that all these 25 things that you're teaching us, you have to keep it in our mind when we are performing. And when we— I think every day we should be practicing this so that they become part of our system. It becomes a habit for us. Yes, about the emotion, to think about the voice modulation. Today I didn't do voice modulation, but a little bit I did. But we have to keep it in our mind. And what I was doing actually was I was thinking of a situation in my life, that something, and then I was performing that way. So that's not possible all the time, but the same situation which you're talking about in your story, you can imagine that only and live it, live that situation in that particular way, the sad way or the angry way or whatever. I think it's about mindfulness to remember that. Every day.
Absolutely, and you said it right. When you relive an experience, that's when the tone, the voice projection starts to come naturally. If you're just making it up, it won't come. And I saw it, I saw you were doing because you were taking little pause, but you were not doing this, this, this, boom, boom, boom. You were taking a few seconds which were helping you to change that tone, and that's why it came beautifully. So excellent job, Story Power to you. And let's now get right into our 3 affirmations for the day. And I have it ready. Give me a second. Yes, just setting it up. All right, so the first affirmation for today is My tone connects and inspires every listener. You can repeat.
My tone connects and inspires every listener.
Awesome. I speak with energy, emotion, and intention.
I speak with emotion, energy, and intention.
And the last one for today is, my voice expresses emotion with power and clarity.
My voice expresses emotion with power and with clarity.
Awesome, excellent. More power to you, Story Power to you. So we have completed day 23 of Story Spark session, and from tomorrow We're gonna switch the mode from feedback and some other variation of storytelling. So stay tuned and we'll see you tomorrow.
