Story Spark Day 5 Your Why

In this live, interactive coaching session titled “Story Spark Day 5 – Your Why,” facilitator Haritosh Srivastav leads a small group (Dinesh, Alka, Vignesh, and others) through a deep‑dive exercise to uncover each participant’s personal motivation for learning storytelling. The session begins with an overview of why a clear “why” simplifies the “how,” followed by a series of reflective journaling prompts delivered over background music. Participants are asked four core questions: (1) what brought them to the community, (2) what changes they expect storytelling to create in their lives, (3) who they wish to impact, and (4) what doors a confident storytelling ability could open. After 30‑second writing periods, each participant crafts a concise “why statement” in the format “I want to become a powerful, confident storyteller so that I can ….” The facilitator then invites each member to share their statement, reinforcing each with the group chant “Story Power to you.” Dinesh emphasizes long‑term audience remembrance and persuasion; Alka highlights transformation of audiences and personal happiness; Vignesh (summarized by the facilitator) links storytelling to solving generational communication problems and scaling his organization. The session concludes with three collective affirmations—“My stories matter,” “My voice has purpose,” and “I speak to uplift, empower, and transform”—followed by brief experience‑sharing where participants report heightened motivation, visualization practice, and a sense of energetic community. The facilitator wraps up with logistical reminders for the next session. Overall, the content showcases a structured, supportive coaching methodology aimed at aligning personal purpose with storytelling skill development.
Chapters
Okay, welcome everyone to the day 5 of Story Spark session. So hopefully more people will join as we proceed, but in today's session we are going to do a little deep dive on why we want to learn, why we want to practice, why we want to do storytelling. So this is called Day 5, Your Why for Storytelling. So what happens is, as they say, that when your why is clear, your how becomes easy. So that is why we are going to work on the why part of it. As part of this, what I am going to do is I am going to again ask everyone to keep your pen and paper ready. We are going to go deep dive. I am gonna give some questions for reflections. There will be a music playing in the background. And I want you to journal. Now, if you are driving, please do not do this. Be safe. So in that case, you'll have to do the mental calculation or park in a side place and be safe. And once we have gone through the journal, I am going to ask you to share what is the outcome of this exercise, and you are going to frame some of the sentences in that. So let's get started. I'm gonna share the music. Get your pen and paper ready.
Haritosh, will you please tell me again what do you mean by what is your why in storytelling?
Sir, sorry, come again.
Yeah, please tell me what is your— what do you mean by saying what is your why in storytelling?
Correct, yes. So what I mean by what is your why is that everything that we do, there is a reason behind we are doing, right? The reason you join this community, the reason you are learning speaking or storytelling or communication. So sometimes this is a surface level why, but we want to go deeper, that there is a need for you to share, there is a purpose, there is a message. So that is what we are going to explore. So we will— I will be sharing music, I'll be giving some prompts, and you'll have to do some self-reflection and write down what is coming onto your mind. And then we are going to go ahead and go with the sharing part of it, where you're going to frame some sentences as I give the direction, and then we'll go from there, and then we'll end up with some powerful affirmation. So that is it. As they say, it is one part is learning about a skill, but when we have the clarity about why we are learning the skill, that's when it becomes so useful. So that is what we are going to do. Uh, let me play the music and Okay, the question to ponder upon and think about is what have made you become part of this community? Why you have joined this community, this challenge, in this sessions? And the next question is, what changes do you want storytelling and speaking to create in your life? If you learn storytelling, you become proficient public speaker. What changes are you expecting in your life? Writing. The next question to think about is Who do you really want to impact and inspire through your stories? Who are the people that you really want to impact and inspire? If that is one of the reasons that you are learning storytelling. So, Alka ji, we are doing some reflection about why for storytelling. So what you need to do is I'm telling questions and you— I want you to do writing. What, what do— what does this mean for you? So the question that I've told so far is what have made you join this community, this skill of speaking and storytelling. Second question is what changes do you expect, or what changes do you see happening once you learn or once you understand this whole storytelling and And the next question was, who do you want to impact and inspire with your stories? And the last question is, if you truly become the powerful, confident storyteller, what doors can it open for you? Let me repeat the question. If you truly become the confident, powerful speaker and storyteller, what doors can this open for you? Give another 30 seconds for you to write down, and then what we are going to do is we're going to write a powerful why statement. This is the format that is going on the chat. I'll also put it in the— my video as well. So once you have read, looked into the answer, I want you to create your why statement in this format. I want to become a powerful speaker or storyteller so that I can— whatever impact or result you want, or whichever audience or person or cause you want to do. For example, you can say, I want to become a powerful communicator so that I can impact people who are coming from small towns to have bigger dreams, bigger vision. I'll give another 30 seconds for you to write your why statement in this format: I want to become a powerful, confident storyteller so that I can do this impact or get this result for this audience or person or for this cause. Awesome. So I hope we are done with writing our why statement, or do we need more time?
Enough.
Done? Okay, so let's start with Dinesh Ji. Dinesh Ji, would love to hear your why statement. And once Dinesh Ji has done, what we are gonna do is We're gonna say our powerful word, which is "Story Power to You." We're gonna say out loud, and we'll also type it in the chat. Okay, Dineshji, go ahead. What— why is it that you want to learn storytelling?
So my answer to the first question, I have mentioned here that my why is to convince the people to whom I am telling with the long-term remembrance, because story is something which you can remember for a long time. So the reason that I'm telling the story is to— so that the audience will remember what I'm saying for the long time. So that is my first answer. Second one is what changes you want by telling your story. So for that, my answer would be that the biggest change what I want is what I am telling. I have got a aim or I have got a particular journey. So, I want them to travel with me in that journey or the aim that I want to reach, I want them to accept it or to reach that place or get them convinced. So, that is the answer to my second question. The third one is, what will you get once you reach the state? This I have not thought it in detail, what will I get. But one thing is sure that whatever I am telling to someone or sharing to someone or spreading the message, I am responsible to see that he gets convinced. For that, I should be more and more prepared, otherwise it is the wastage of time, money, and energy. So that is the reason that I want that whatever I have convinced, it has gone through.
Awesome. Thank you so much. And everybody say, story power to you. Story power to you, Dinesh Ji. Thank you so much.
Story power to you, Dinesh Ji.
Awesome. Let's go to Alka Ji.
Yeah, so Why I joined Confident Storytelling is because according to me, storytelling is a very powerful tool and it can help me to transform my audience and, and make every conversation more interesting and more transformational. And the question is that what am I going to get? The question is what change do you see? So what I see the change in my audience is to transform the audience and to to help them to take action so that they can change their life. So they do something in their life so they can change and become better versions of themselves. So that is my aim, is to— so basically I'm working with patients, I'm working with the audience. So I want to bring a mindset shift in the minds of the audience. What do I get? I get happiness. I get a lot of happiness when I see the change in my audience and I see the change in my patients, and I feel very, very happy. What doors it's going to open for me. I can use storytelling on a lot of bigger platforms where I'm going to share my thoughts on any speech, on any keynote, on— in my role as a president today, I can use storytelling. And I, I've already started using storytelling in my— with my patients also, how I can change their thoughts by showing the stories of other patients to these people. So that is what is my answer. Thank you so much.
Thank you. And let's say it everybody together: Story Power to you as well. Thank you. Okay, Vignesh, I want to know if you are comfortable sharing. Yeah, can you hear me well and clear? Yes, we can hear you. Go ahead.
Okay, great.
So my why storytelling, why do I need that, is to resolve generations of problems because of poor communication. And it's a work in progress. Second is to elevate my organization. Your voice seems to be breaking.
Yes.
Okay, I think we got a little bit of it. I think you're traveling, so maybe network issue. But we want to say and we want to wish from our side, story power to you. I know you are on a bigger mission. You, you also have a great vision, so Wishing you all the best as well. So story power to you as well, Vignesh. Awesome. Oh, great. So you already mentioned that in the chat, so I'm going to read it for the audience who are going to listen to this. His storytelling— reason for storytelling is to resolve generations of problem because of poor communication, to elevate the organization vision and scale it globally. To live a good life with family and friends, explaining clearly and reasons behind that. Why this community? Because he wants the world to transform and reform by telling their stories. The changes he want is he wants to have a purposeful life beyond mediocrity that keeps people engaged and neurons engaged throughout the life. Who do he wants to impact is his partner, director, himself. And his powerful why statement is he want to become a powerful storyteller so that he can clearly communicate with impact for bigger vision for his organization and his life. Thank you. Story power to you, Ignace. Thank you so much for typing in the chat. And with this, we are going to the last part of our Story Spark Session, and that is the affirmation that we do every day. We bring different affirmation, uh, so we'll do the affirmation and then we'll do the experience sharing. So you're gonna see the affirmation on the screen as well below my video, and I'll speak once and then we'll say it together. So the 3 affirmations, the first affirmation for today is My stories matter. Now everyone together: My stories matter. Number 2: My voice has purpose. Everyone: My voice has purpose. And the last one, last affirmation for today is: I speak to uplift, empower, and transform. Now everyone together: I speak, I speak, uplift, empower, and transform. Sorry, power to all of you. Thank you so much for joining. Let's go towards the experience sharing. So let's start with Dinesh Ji who joined 4 minutes before the meeting, which is amazing. So thank you for joining on time. So yes, would love to hear your experience. Dineshji, are you able to hear me?
He's reading something.
Yeah, thank you. Okay, thank you.
Eyes are moving like that, left, right.
No, go ahead, go ahead, Dinesh Ji, you're saying something.
Please continue. What was your experience today?
Oh, sorry, I couldn't reply you. No, well, it was good. The main thing is I need to repeat. So today morning, as soon as I got up, immediately I repeated one of the affirmations that you told me yesterday, that you visualize. So I just visualized, and I said that, yes, not in front of 100, I am in front of thousands. So I visualize that I am in front of the thousand people, and you won't believe, today I have got— I'm lined up for for 10. I have got 10 offers as on today.
Amazing, amazing, awesome.
Thank you.
Story power to you, and thank you for sharing that. Yes, Alka ji.
Yeah, so for me today, what you have told, the why of joining, it has opened up that thing, ki bhai, I must take more seriously everything. And I can do so much with storytelling, so much, so much, so much. And I want myself, I'm telling that I can transform, I can use it for transformation. And I feel so happy when I transform. So I think what has— today I've learned is that when you ask questions, you, you go within yourself and you search for the answers. So that is one thing which you're doing today. So I'm really happy with this session today. So thank you so much, Haritosh Srivastav.
Thank you. Story power to you as well, Vignesh. Okay, so Vignesh wrote in the chat, so I'm gonna read. His experience today was great. It reminded about the purpose that he is here. And he can feel the energy and aura of Alka ji, Dinesh ji, and thank you for acknowledging my work. So he can already start feeling that his day is fulfilled and energetic. And that is why we do the Story Spark session. I want to generate, I want to have a spark that can last for the day so that you are powerful, you share your stories with each other, you learn, and you go on with your day. So thank you so much, all of you, for joining. And if you're watching it on video, you can still do the affirmation and share the audio or video in the group. Thank you so much. Have a great weekend. Have a great rest of the day. We'll be having the session tomorrow, just to clarify. So we'll meet tomorrow again at 6 AM for the next Story Spark session. Take care.
Thank you.
Stay safe and stay blessed.
Thank you. Today I heard Dinesh sir's conflict video first time. Oh, I really liked it.
He's doing amazing.
