Okay, welcome everyone to the day one.
Good morning, good morning.
Welcome everyone to day one of StorySpark Challenge. You know, we have done it in past and I'm so excited to get it started again. And we have— I have already designed the 30 days plan, so I'm very sure you're gonna have really fun. And I see more and more people joining, which is amazing. Good morning, Tanay.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Awesome.
So let's get started. So today's session is called Kickoff and Storytelling Beliefs.
Let me just pause the audio.
Yes.
So Day 1 challenge is called Kickoff and Storytelling Beliefs. So when it comes to becoming a great storyteller, a Gate speaker, there are a lot of beliefs that we have inside us.
So today we are going to work on that.
Today we are going to analyze some of those beliefs and see how we can change those limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs. So what we are going to do is we are going to do a small 2-minute exercise where I would like you to actually close your mind, and I will be giving some prompts, and I want you to think about what comes to your mind when these— when I give you these prompts. And after you have gone through that, I want you to write down on a piece of paper what thoughts came into your mind, and then we'll work on how we can change some of those beliefs that are there.
All right, so everybody clear as to what needs to be done?
We'll work on your thoughts, we'll work on what needs to be done, right? So let me play the music.
Give me a second.
Okay, I want all of you to take—
close your eyes.
Close your eyes, take some deep breath. Slowly breathe in, breathe out.
Breathe in, breathe out.
And as I'm saying this word, think about which one of these beliefs that you currently have. Do you believe that you do not have interesting stories? Do you believe you're not a great speaker? To believe you have something which has held you back, which has not helped you. Take another 30 seconds, think about what are the current beliefs that you are holding as a speaker, as a storyteller, as a communicator. And where are these beliefs coming from? What in the past has helped you or held you back? Take another 2-3 breaths. And now slowly open your eyes. And grab a pen, paper, or digital device, whatever is there, and start noting down what are the thoughts that came into your mind when I took you through these prompts. So open your eyes, you'll hear the music, and take another couple of minutes and write down what are the thoughts that coming into your mind when I gave you these prompts related to your beliefs.
Another 30 seconds.
Okay, time to wrap up. Awesome, welcome Rajeshi.
So this is the time to share your beliefs. The one of the best ways to break your limiting beliefs is to share your beliefs, to share your experience. So This is what we are going to do. As we already know, but I am going to state the obvious, is this is a positive space. So whatever happens is gonna be here, and feel free to share what you are comfortable with. If you are not comfortable sharing, then you can just say that I had certain limiting belief, but if you are comfortable, please go ahead and share. So we are gonna start with Jigesh ji because he joined first.
So, Jigesh ji, what thoughts, what beliefs came to your mind when we went through this exercise?
Are you able to respond, Jigesh ji?
I had limiting beliefs. Can you hear me?
Yes, I can hear you now.
Yeah.
Oh, I'd like to share later. I'll just wait. I'd like to share it.
Sure, not a problem. Okay, now let's go to Venkat. So Venkat, what thoughts, ideas came into your mind? Yeah.
Yes, my limiting belief— I believed that, um, I am lacking my confidence, my communication skills. And checking others' validation. That is two I believed before, but nowadays I am taking action to get rid of that belief. Awesome!
Story power to you! Let's write everybody SPGY, story power to you, Venkat. And now let's go to Tanay.
Okay, so when it comes to storytelling, I think I have like great stories to tell. I have like lot, lot of experience with things. But when it comes to delivery, where I lack is I basically mess up with how I deliver. I forget, okay, many things I need to tell which I just forget to tell. That's what I think.
Awesome.
Thank you first of all for sharing that. It's not easy to share your vulnerability, so thank you. And yes, you are part of the community, so we'll work on changing those beliefs. So everybody write SPTY, Story Power to Youth.
Rajesh ji, I don't know how—
when you joined exactly, but we're working on the limiting beliefs that we currently have to identify. So you want to share any of those limiting or empowering beliefs?
Yes.
Good morning, good morning everyone. Yes, so my limiting belief was that my voice is not good. This was my first limiting belief. Second was that, yes, I don't have stories in my mind, I don't have words in my mind, I'm not good at English communication. So that was the another belief in my mind. And last but not the least, it was that if I speak, if I speak something wrong, yes, people are going to judge me.
Yes, these are very, very common.
And absolutely, thank you so much for sharing.
And as I said earlier, it takes a lot of guts to share, but that is also the first step to breaking those beliefs. So everybody write SPDY, Story Power To You. Rajesh ji and Jigesh ji, are you comfortable now to share your limiting beliefs?
My limiting belief was that I'm not too clear whether I'll be able to articulate the stories effectively.
Awesome, thank you for sharing. Thank you.
So not able to articulate, not able to speak with impact. Again, thank you for sharing. So everybody write SPTY to Jigesh ji as well. And now what we are going to do is another couple of minutes of activities, which is we are going to do a powerful affirmation. So it may feel awkward and that you are speaking very loud and in the morning, but it is also part of vocal exercise. And also the way you do affirmation is you speak out loud so that you listen and others listen. So we are going to use 3 powerful affirmations.
Number 1 is—
and everybody unmute yourself.
So once I do, you're gonna repeat with me again. So unmute everyone. 1, 2, 3.
I am a confident storyteller. Now everyone together. I am a confident storyteller.
Awesome.
Number 2: My stories matter. Together, everyone. My stories matter.
My stories matter.
And the last affirmation for today is: My voice creates impact. Everyone: My voice, my voice, my voice creates impact. Story power to you, everyone. How do you feel now?
Yes, my voice creates power.
Your voice creates power.
And Story Power to all of you. This is day 1 of Story Spark session. We have restarted the session and you are starting your day with this power of permission, declaring to the universe that you are on this journey of growth and learning. So all the best to all of you. Anybody wants to share anything? In terms of how are you feeling, and then we'll wrap up this session.
Yes, it is powerful dose for the morning.
Yes, powerful pill. Awesome.
All right. Yes, Venkat, anything you want to share?
Uh, nothing. A good start again. This is also reboot for Spark session.
Yes, Reboot has re-sparked the storytelling challenge in us. Awesome. Tanay, how about you? What are you feeling now?
I'm feeling inspired. I'm thinking to record a session just after this.
Do it, do it. Yes, that's the best time when you are in the flow.
Do it.
And how about you, Jigishi? Awesome.
I'm not sure if you are able to hear or respond, but yes, I'm feeling much more positive that it's going to be possible to save, uh, effective stories, powerful stories.
Absolutely.
And it is very much possible. The storytellers are humans like us. They don't have any tail or any other bones. Uh, so yes, like Tanya said, if you are feeling inspired, maybe this is the right time to record a video and post it in the group or post it in social media. This is very, very important. The power of movement will probably cover it in some other days. When you are in that movement, when you are in the flow, that's when you should take massive action. So thank you so much everyone. This is 6:15, and as promised, we are done with day 1 of StorySpark session, and we'll meet tomorrow again. And for the members who are not able to join You still do this exercise, and if you want to share, record a video and post it in our community. Thank you so much. Have a great rest of the day. As I say every time, until next time, keep learning, keep growing, and keep going out of your comfort zone. See you tomorrow.
Thank you so much.
