Hello everyone, time for the next Thursday tale, and this tale is called Indian Billionaire Barber. Ramesh Babu was born in Bangalore in a very poor family, and his father passed away when he was just 7 years old. Since then, their sufferings actually grew. They really had to struggle. The father had a shop in a shopping mall which his mother had to give for ₹5 a day rent so that they could survive. And they used to do all sort of household work to get some money to basically survive, get one meal a day. And when Ramesh Babu grew up, at the age of 13, he started doing all kind of things to just to support his family. He started delivering food, delivering milk, distributing newspaper, all of this to support his family. And once he completed his high school, he said, now I have to take things on my hand. He took his father's shop, which was called inner space and started running his own barber shop, his own things. He became a barber, and this went on for a few years, and things started getting better. He saved some money, and in 1993, with his savings, with the help of his uncles, he bought his first car, which was a Maruti Omni van. But there was a problem. He was there in the shop almost 10 to 12 hours a day, and there was hardly any time to use the car. And this is when he got the business idea. Why not rent this, his car, for two other drivers? And this idea became a hit. Very soon he started getting contracts from very various places, various corporates, and in next few decades he kept on saving, kept on buying new cars. As much as that, at this point of time he has got a fleet of over 300 cars. And in that you have Rolls-Royce, you have got BMW Series 5, 6, 7, he's got Mercedes Class C, E, and S, and so on so forth. Just because he believed in himself, just because he kept on working towards his dream, now he's a billionaire. Now here is the most interesting part. Ramesh Babu still spends 4 to 5 hours per day in the same shop because he believes that he should never forget his roots. So are you remembering your roots? So this was Thursday Tale.
