Storytelling activates your whole brain by creating an internal experience that triggers your own memories. How you tell the story matters as much as having one. The way it's told shapes what the listener actually experiences.
Chapters
What happens with storytelling is that you're not only engaging the whole brain, but you are creating experiences inside the person's head. It's almost like artificial reality where they are having their own version of the story. They are having that, you know, did you know that you look just like your mother play out in their head? Because there's the story of it you are experiencing, but there's also your own stories that are triggered. Absolutely. When we're listening, it is going to dynamically put us there and have us engage with it in a much more memorable way. But it's not enough to tell a story. The way you tell it really does make a difference in the experience. And that's where I'm trying to focus and help people recognize that you can do certain things to put together the perfect story.
