Hope you're doing well today. I want to talk to you about finding your Goliath. So there's this quote that I heard many years ago about sometimes God will put a Goliath in your life so you can find your inner David. This idea that God will put a challenge or an obstacle in front of you so that you have to muster up the personal growth and personal perseverance to push through that. And you'll hear this if you listen really closely to some of our greatest performers of our days. For example, Michael Jordan, in a recent documentary talked about how he would sometimes conjure up a rivalry against another person. So that would make him step forward and view that person as a rival. He would increase his production. He would up his game because he would view himself as having a rival. Oftentimes, I'll do the same thing. I'll perceive somebody in a legal case on the other side staying up hours and hours battling me in some kind of litigation. I'm sure you've done this too. You view yourself as going to battle with somebody. And what that is is this. We are hardwired to step up when we perceive somebody challenging us. God will put a Goliath in front of us so that we find our inner David. And sometimes, sometimes you may have to come up with your own perceived Goliath to step up your game. You may have set the clock as your Goliath. Some deadline is a Goliath. Somebody on the other side in some battle, some litigation or business game, right? So we gamify everything so that we perceive or put in place a David versus Goliath story. And why do we come up with a Goliath? Right? Why don't we come up with a David, somebody that we can easily beat? The reason is because we are hardwired to step up when faced with challenge, right? It's just nature. You see one animal take on another animal. If it's a larger animal, you'll see the smaller animal bow up, get bigger. Same thing happens in our lives. When we are facing a challenge that we perceive to be bigger than us, we will increase, increase our strength. You'll see all these kind of biological things happen so that we show up bigger in our lives. So right now, a lot of us are facing a Goliath, right? There's financial uncertainty, there's uncertainty in the home, there's uncertainty outside the home. God is putting in front of us a Goliath in which we got to step up our game. So how are you doing that today? What are the Goliaths out there for you? Are you ignoring them and focusing on Netflix? Or are you saying right now is the time that I need to react and that I need to step forward? Think that through. Who are the Goliaths out there? And if you don't know who they are, maybe it's time to think of them. Just something to think about. Challenge for you. Challenge for myself. Go out there every single day. Identify your Goliaths and seize your legacy.
