Hope you're doing well today. I want to talk to you about putting the first thing first. It's an idea that comes from Stephen Covey's best selling book, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. By the way, if you have not read this book, read it. I read it quite often. It's been around for 35 years. The habits in that book are still very relevant to today, especially today. Okay, so the habit I want to talk to you about is habit number three, putting the first things first. So what this means is you need to put your priorities on your to do list and everything else should fall off, right? In this time of distraction and delay and procrastination and reaction, it's very easy to put off the things that matter to you, to put off the things that are important to you, the things that matter when it comes to actually achieving your goals. So what I do is the night before I will actually lay out the three things that I want to need to get done the next day. And then when I wake up, I do not open my inbox. The first thing I do is I attack my priorities. I go after my to do's before I look at other people's to dos. Right? Because that email, that inbox really is just a collection of other people demanding your to do things. It's reaction zone. Don't go into the reaction zone. Stay in your priority lane and get the first things done first. Allow your priorities to drive your day. Don't let other people's agendas drive your life. All right? Just something to think through. Go out there every single day. Seize your legacy and put the first things first.
