Hope you're doing well today. I want to talk to you about owning your life. So I'm reading a book right now called Extreme Ownership, is written by a former Navy SEAL commander named Jocko Willink. Excellent book. Highly recommend. But the basic premise of the book is that whatever happens in your life, you should own it. Good, bad, or indifferent, it is what it is because of something you did or something that you didn't do. And don't put emotions to it. Just embrace it, own it, recognize it, and move forward. It reminds me of a saying that my longtime law partner says. She says it is what it is. And the basic concept really dates back to stoicism, right? This idea that whatever happens, you just move forward, and you don't attach a lot of emotion to it. You don't wallow in your weaknesses or concern yourself with things that are behind you or believe that things are happening against you. You just recognize it is what it is, own it, and move forward. And right now, it's very easy to get sucked into social media or what's happening in the world that is outside of your control, outside of your influence. And you spend hours and hours worrying about things that you have zero control over, and it diverts your attention from your goals and. And your purpose and where you truly can make an impact. So, challenge for myself. My challenge for you is to own your life. Own the circumstances, recognize them for what they are. Don't attach emotions to them. Just move forward with influence and impact and make your difference in the world. Okay, challenge for myself. Challenge for you. Go out there every single day, own your life, and seize your legacy.
