Hope you're well. Today I want to talk to you about your one thing. This concept comes from a book called the One Thing. And the basic idea is that when you're trying to identify some habit that you want to put in place or some impact that you want to make in the world, you got to try to figure out what that one thing is. Not many things, but that one thing is that if you do it every single day with consistency, it's going to make everything else irrelevant or easy in your life. So, you know, I try to think about my one thing in different areas of my life. So faith, family, fitness, finances, and fulfillment. And so each one of those, I try to think of, you know, what's the one thing? If I do it every single day in that area, it's going to lead to exponential growth in that specific area. So for me, it's about fitness is my first one I want to talk to you about. So for fitness, I know that I have the propensity to put on weight, so I recognize I need to burn calories, and I need to burn calories early in the day or else it will not happen. Right? For me, working out in the evening means it'll happen tomorrow. So what I try to do every single day is I try to get calories burned in the morning. So I have a treadmill in my home. I jump on the treadmill, I do work, and I crank out calories burned as soon as I can. And I do this strategy called don't break the chain. And it comes from this story that Jerry Seinfeld told, in which he said, look, in order to get to be world class at being a comedian, he had to think about a joke every single day. One joke every single day. And after he thought of the joke of the day, he would take a calendar and he would mark off that day. And we recognized is by doing this every single day, it made a chain on his calendar of X's all the way across. And his goal was to make sure that he didn't break the chain of X's on his calendar. So I do something similar on my running. I mark off a calendar so that I see visually see my chain growing every single day. And I don't want to break that chain. And it's a visual reminder to myself to keep going every single day doing my one thing. And. And if I do that, I know that I can keep my weight under control, I can keep my energy under control, and I can be more present for my family and for my future. And for everything that I have going on in the world. So for you, what is that one thing that you can do every day? What is that chain that you want to build in your life that's going to make an impact over the long term? Don't think about a million things. Think about the one thing that's going to make everything else easier or irrelevant that will really, truly make a huge impact in that area of your life. Something to think about. Challenge for myself. A challenge for you. Get out there every single day and seize your legacy.
