The Seven Secrets of Success with Dennis J. Henson | The CJ Moneyway Sh$w

In this CJ Moneyway Show episode, veteran real‑estate investor and author Dennis J. Henson shares the story of his 50‑year career, the founding of the Arlington Real Estate Investors Association, and how he transitioned from mentor to teacher. He explains his "Royal Flush" concept that positions real‑estate as the most essential, repeatable product, and recounts a pivotal mentorship encounter with Mike Chase that launched his teaching business. The core of the conversation is Henson’s "Seven Secrets of Success" framework—mindset, seeking wisdom, skill development, detailed planning, massive action, forming great alliances, and persistence—illustrated with personal anecdotes and practical advice. He emphasizes habit formation, especially daily reading and gratitude (the "G‑vitamin"), and describes his book Real Impact Daily Inspiration, its free‑ebook giveaway, and his goal to help a million people. The episode concludes with a rapid‑fire Q&A covering influential books, the primacy of mindset over real‑estate, and his one‑word legacy: "habits". Sponsor messages for Indeed and the CJ Moneyway brand are interspersed throughout.

Thank you, CJ. I really appreciate you having me today, man.
I appreciate you coming on, man. I appreciate you coming on. So Dennis, man, let's talk, man. Built for longevity. Dennis, you've been in the game for over 50 years. What's been your biggest key to staying relevant and successful across multiple industries and generations?
The biggest key is every time I got knocked down, I got back up. If you're going to be in business, you're going to run into some problems and you have to be able to withstand those and keep moving forward. I think that's the biggest thing.
Mm, yeah, that's always a big thing because we will get knocked down not only in business but in life. So that's one to grow on. So let me ask you then, this man, real estate royalty, your book, The Royal Flush of Real Estate Investing, made waves in the investor's world. What are a few must-know truths about that playbook that applies today?
Well, The Royal Flush talks about the why of real estate investing. It tells you why real estate investing is the best investment that there is. For a long time, I looked and looked for what's a great product. I was looking for a product that everyone needed and that they would need it over and over again. And so I was watching a Survivor show one time, and you know, they put, they put them out in the desert or put them on the, on an island or something. And what's the first thing they need? Well, the first thing they need is shelter, because if they build a fire and it rains It's going to put the fire out. And when the sun goes down, it's going to get cold and they're going to need some place to be. Then I started thinking, well, wasn't that the same way with the very first people who ever came on this earth? They needed shelter. And the last person who ever leaves this earth is going to want to have some place to spend the night the day before they leave. And so I realized You know, that's got to be the greatest product ever. And I started doing some research and I found out there's a lot of quotes from really, really important people that say, you know, real estate's the shortest distance to becoming wealthy. And it really is, especially in this country where you have the opportunity to finance and so forth. But the Royal Flush just says, look, no other investment has all of these things. It's like playing a game and you're holding a Royal Flush, it's hard to beat it. I mean, in fact, you can't.
Nah, and I doubt if it'd be a chop pot. So, so yeah, right, you're right. You know, you're not the first one to come on the show, man, to say that real estate is the game to get in, you know. So that's just confirmation. I have had a few people to come on to say the same thing, like, hey, real estate is the best investment you can get in. And then like some say that You know, like a lot of us that may be on the outside looking in think that it costs a lot of money to get into this game. But I've had people say, man, it don't even cost nothing to get in it. You know, that's just something, a misconception that a lot of us have that it costs to get into the real estate game. So thanks for that understanding of the flush, man, of the royal flush. Hey, so let me ask you, Dennis, investing in people, not just property, right? You shift towards success coaching and helping others develop This mindset, what inspired that revolution and how do real estate and mindset actually overlap?
When I came to Texas, I had been investing for 25 years. Now I lived here for 35, and you could say, you know, you had those two together, it's pretty long. But when I came to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I was like a kid in the candy store. There was just real estate everywhere and there was all kinds of deals, and I was pretty successful. I was really doing well, but I wanted to do better. I thought, well, if I could learn some more advanced techniques, I would make a lot more money and do a lot better. So I started looking for real estate investor groups.
Mm-hmm.
Well, I live in Arlington. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is big. For example, Arlington's right in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth. To go to a real estate investor group in Dallas took me an hour and a half. If the traffic was bad, it was 2 hours. To go to Fort Worth took about an hour. If the traffic was bad, it was 2 hours because Fort Worth traffic is even worse than Dallas. So I thought, but that's taking too much time out of my day because after you get there 2 hours and you stay there for 2 hours and you drive back, I mean, that's half a day.
Yeah, that's a work day.
So I said, well, I'll just start a group in Arlington. So I started the AREA, Arlington Real Estate Investors Association, and it was really successful. I mean, we had people coming from Dallas and Fort Worth and Arlington too. And so it was big and very successful. And I thought, well, if I teach classes, I'll learn more. For example, if I wanted to learn about land trust, I would set up what I called an elite class. And I was going to teach land trust. Well, I might not know anything about land trust. So I had a month. To learn everything I could possibly learn and then teach it and then be able to answer questions. And it really worked because I learned an awful lot doing it that way. So one day, one of the members of the group came up. His name was Mike Chase, and he said, Dennis, I'm going to retire in a couple of weeks. I'm going to let you mentor me and I'll pay you. And I said, well, Mike, that's very flattering and I appreciate your confidence, but I don't have time to mentor you. I'm really busy with this group and my real estate investing. I'm just really not interested. And he looked at me funny and he said, Dennis, you didn't hear what I said. I'm going to retire in a couple of weeks and you're going to mentor me. So he said, we'll talk about it. So we went out, he bought me a Whataburger. That's kind of famous down here. And after we ate, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a checkbook, handed me the check. He said, here, fill this in. And I said, do you mean the amount? And he said, yeah, fill it in. So I thought— I smiled and I thought, okay, this will end this. I'll put a number down here and there's no way he's going to pay this, so that'll be the end of it. I'll go back to my real estate. So I handed him the checkbook back and he took checkout and signed it, didn't even look at the amount. This is true. And he handed it back to me. CJ, that's when I started teaching real estate.
Dennis, man, I gotta ask you, man, I gotta ask, I gotta ask, and I know you left us with a cliffhanger over here, man. How much did you put on that check?
Well, okay, this was back in 2005 or 2006. And I thought, you know, I'd be willing to spend an hour or two with him for $4,500. I put $4,500 on there. So after I taught him, he told a bunch of other people how successful— in fact, you can go on YouTube right now, look for Mike Chase, you look for my name and scroll down to where it says Mike Chase, and you can see that his testimonial was in 2008. And he's telling you how successful he was. So because of his success, a lot more students came. Well, before long, all I was doing was teaching. And so one of my business partners said, Dennis, you're not charging enough for what you're doing. So I raised the price and I got more students. And I raised it again, I got more students. So finally it got up to about $30,000 and it finally started slowing up a little. But by that time I was exhausted. I mean, I was just teaching 4 or 5 classes a day and the students were super successful. So much so that I got invited to speak at real estate investor groups throughout the nation. I mean, I spoke in Washington, I spoke in California. I mean, I spoke even in other countries. So one day podcasts were just getting started and we were having a podcast just like this. And it was a real estate podcast and the The host said, Dennis, why are your students so successful? I said, well, I have them change their habits. You know, if they can form success habits, they'll become successful. Then he asked me, what's the number one success habit? Can you share that with our audience? And I said, well, yeah, they need to form the habit of reading something positive every single day that moves them toward the goal. So, CJ, after the podcast was over, I got thinking, you know, that was the right answer. Wouldn't it be great if there were some kind of a tool to help people form the habit of reading every day, to make it easy? And then it hit me. For 50 years, I've been collecting motivational books, short stories, quotes, and poems. And I thought, I can put those in a book and people can form the habit regardless of their time. Like, CJ, I don't even know you, but I know this: your time is full. I mean, you don't have time to add anything else because nature doesn't permit vacuums. And so everybody's time is full. So here's what I came up with. I came up with a book, Real Impact, so that if you got 5 minutes, you can turn over and read a poem. If you have 30 minutes in the airport, you can read a short story. If you have an hour or two, you could read one of the books in the back.. And if you get home and you're exhausted and you forgot to read that day, flip over to the quotes, read the quote, take you 4 or 5 seconds, and you've done your habit for the day. Mm-hmm. So that was in 2018, and I thought, couple of months, I'll have this book. I already have all the information. And I started working on it every day. It got published last year. Mm. 6 years. I worked on it for 6 years, every single day, and put it up on Amazon, and the reviews started coming in. And I challenge everyone to go to Amazon, look for Real Impact Daily Inspiration, and read the reviews.
Mm-hmm.
People love this book. I mean, they absolutely go crazy. It's got over 100 reviews and a 5-star rating. Which is not easy to do if you got any authors.
Yeah, I know.
It's hard to get 5 reviews, but to get, you know, over 100— and it only takes one bad review to knock that 5-star off of there. So, yeah, so it's well received. And if it's so good, if it's okay with you, I'd like to just give everyone that's tuned in a free ebook. Copy. Is that okay with you?
Hey, I love it, man. I love it. Like we talked about, man, make sure you send the link, man, because I want to get my free copy of it myself.
Go to realimpactbook.com, scroll to the bottom of the page where it says podcast attendee, and click on that. There's 3 gifts for you. The second gift is an instant download— I mean, instant access. You just put your name and email, it instantly like. Now if you're thinking, well, he just wants my email address, I got 800,000 email addresses, I don't need your email address. No.
Wow.
That's not something I need, and I will not send you anything else unless you click the button that says contact me when you write another book. If you click that, you'll get one more email every time I write a book. I'll say I wrote another book. In fact, I got another one right now that's coming out in What is this, March and April? April 1st. It's called How to Get Started Investing in Real Estate. And I just got off the phone with the publisher and he was, it's funny, he was saying, I'm reading your book and I'm gonna start investing. It was funny. I thought, okay. He says, well, where I get the money? I said, you're not reading my book if you ask me where to get the money because it says in there you don't need any money.
You just need Yeah, yeah. Now that's two books I gotta get there, man. So I will be on that list. So when he come out, I get that alert, man, you know what I'm saying? Because you making a lot of sense. And like I said, that's something that my mindset has been on as well, because I've had people come on and they, you know, they talking about it and generational wealth and wealth building. And, and what I admire about you guys, man, to be honest with you, Dennis, I like the fact that you can go out there, do it yourself, and make the money, you know, saying all the money that you can. But for you guys to come back, man, and to teach others and to help other people try to get to that success level, man, I have nothing but respect for you and everybody that's in this field that love to help others, man, that love to be a servant to other people, man. That's great.
Thank you.
No problem, man. You deserve it, man. Sometimes, like you say, we got to give people they flowers. You know what I'm saying? Why they here? Because you said something earlier. You say even that person on the last day had to have somewhere to stay, you know. So, so you deserve it, man. So let me ask you, Dennis, man, the 7 Secrets of Success. Okay, let's talk about your framework. Can you walk us through the 7 secrets and why they're so timeless?
Okay, first of all, the 7 secrets are briefly covered in this book. I have another book, two more actually, another book called The Seven Secrets of Success, which I will publish this year. And I also have another book coming out called The Laws of Nature for Success, and they cover the seven secrets too. Let me tell you what the seven secrets are. And before I tell you though, let me tell you how I found them. When I started reading books about success and motivation back in 1975, 50 years ago, I started reading about people who were successful, you know, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, you know, the list just goes on and on. Arnold Schwarzenegger, um, Sylvester Stallone, Mary Kay goes up, list goes on and on and on and on and on. And all of these people had the same thing in common. And it became evident to me that if you do these 7 things, you can become like Walt Disney, or whoever else. So here are the 7 secrets. First one is you got to get your mind right, and if you don't do that, none of the others matter. Your mind right means you know where you're going and you believe you're going to get there. Now you have to have a belief and a burning desire. So all— here's getting your mind right means you know where you're going You believe you're going to get there and you have a burning desire to get there. You're 90% there once you do that. Most people don't have any clue. They think, wow, I'd love to be this, or I'd love to be that. But then, CJ, their butts get in the way. I'd love to do this, but I don't have the money, but I don't have the education, but I don't have the kind You got to move your butt. You put an 'and' in there. Oh, well, I love to do that, and I'm reading every day, and I'm developing the skills that going to get me there, and I'm talking to people who are already there. If you move your butt, get your mind right, that's the number one of the seven. The second one is to seek wisdom. Now, you're not going to do anything unless you learn everything there is about about it. I mean, you need to every single day remind yourself where you're going. That's why this book is so important, because the magic formula in this book says read something positive every day that moves you toward your goal. Well, CJ, you have to have a goal. I mean, if you don't know where you're going, it's kind of like a ship out in the middle of the ocean without a rudder.
Yeah, you might—
I'm telling where you're going to end up. You gotta know where you're going. The third one is about to develop skills. I'm watching the, uh, March Madness right now. Alabama's in the Sweet 16. I'm happy, boy, I tell you.
I'm really enjoying it.
But no one can play basketball unless they can dribble.
Exactly.
They have to shoot, they have to dribble, they have to pass, they have to defense, if they don't have those skills, they're not on the court. I mean, it's, you know, they're not even getting into college. So that's the same way with anything, you know. If you want to become a veterinarian, there's certain skills you have to master. Well, you've got to learn the skills. What are the skills? And then you have to practice them. You know, if those guys going up to the free throw line, if they can't hit the free throws they're not going to be very valuable to the team. They're not going to help the team become successful. So the skills have to be practiced every day, every day. Then the fourth one is to make detailed plans. I mean, you wouldn't dare start to build a high-rise building or even a small building without a set of blueprints because you might finish it and realize that plumbing is in the wrong place or didn't put it at all. You gotta tear the floor out and start all over. So detailed plans are important. Number 5 is to take massive action. Now this is the only one that's kind of difficult. The rest of them are pretty easy.
Mm-hmm.
Massive action is difficult. I mean, if in real estate, my students would come in and I'd, I'd ask them how many, you know, how much money they wanna make, how many deals, and I'd break it down into numbers and I'd say, okay, if you wanna reach that goal, You have to see this many homes every week and make this many offers. And then I look them in the eye and say, are you willing to do that? And they'll say, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So the next week they come back and I say, okay, here's your number. Did you do it? Some of them would say, well, you know, I didn't feel well. I ran out of time. And I would really, I'd set them on fire. I'd say, why are you wasting your money and my time? Get out of here to go do those numbers and don't come back till you do. I'm not going to teach you anymore. So in other words, I held them accountable and I pushed them, which is what a good coach does. And that's why they were super successful. But you break your goal down into daily numbers and you do them every day. Now, massive action means if you feel great and you don't have a cold and you plan to see 10 homes and make 5 offers, then you go see 30 homes and make 20 offers. Course. But if you're sick and it's snowing, you still reach your goal. You see me, that doesn't matter that it's snowing, doesn't matter you're sick. If you want to get where you're going, you got to take the steps to get there. So that's massive. And CJ, most people are just not willing to do that, to get up early, go to bed late, work Saturdays and Sundays, and do whatever it takes. You know, if you have a burning desire, here's a secret CJ, if you have a burning desire to do something, it's not work any longer, it's fun. You wake up every morning and you think, oh, I can't wait to get out of the bed and get my shower so I can go do this. If you don't have a burning desire, then it's called work. So if you have to go to work every day, you're probably not doing what you were put here on Earth to do. You need to listen closer to You know, that inner voice. The next one is to form great alliances. Now, CJ, this podcast we're doing here is helping you and it's helping me and it's helping the people that's, that's tuning in. Forming great alliances, you know, make friends with people who are doing what you want. Make friends with successful people and avoid people who are failures. Who want to pull you down. You got to get away from them. It's not a great alliance to be in alliance with a narcissist that's always telling you what you're doing, it won't work. That's not a great alliance. That's a bad alliance. You need to find people who are encouraging, who are already doing well, who can give you tips and hints and, and work together with you. I have some wonderful people that I work with. It makes life a lot more happy. And then the last one is this. We already kind of touched on it. Number 7 is being persistent. How many times do you get up after being knocked down? One more. One more. If you watch the movie Rocky, that's really a great example of, you know, what it's talking about. He was not— I mean, he was going to finish that fight. He didn't care. He didn't care if he knocked his head off. He broke his arm. He didn't care how bad he was hurt. He was good.

And that's what we leveling up together. Now let's get back to the show.
Hey, I, I don't know about anybody that's listening to this podcast that it helped, but I know one person that it helped. It helped me. And so let me go back over the 7 secrets again. Okay, Dennis said get your mind right. Okay, that's the first thing. You gotta have a burning desire, right? I feel that. Then he say seek wisdom, and I know that's biblical right there. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness, and all these things should be added unto you. Seek wisdom in your life because it's the most principal thing that a man can have. Number 3, he said develop skills. Sometimes we don't even know that we developing skills when we developing them, because then sometimes we be in places that we don't want to be, but realizing later on in life, I had to be in that place in order to develop the skills that I have for where I am now. And then so it just keep on going, it just keep on going. So I'm with you on that one then. Number 4, he said, detail planning. Have a solid foundation first and then build on that, because you don't want to get to the wrong spot and then the plumbing ain't where it's supposed to be. I think that's what he said. And so Number 5, he say take massive action, and that's the hardest thing to do because in this day and age people do not want to be held accountable. And if we do hold people accountable, they tend to run from you. As he was talking about with the great alliances, which is number 6, with the great alliances, people who trying to keep you down or become jealous of your elevation in life, those people, as he said, I, I don't know, did you say losers?
Or, uh, well, they're not great alliances.
Get rid of those folks and get around people that have your same mindset, that's doing better, that's doing what you're doing and has already been successful doing it. And learn under them.
And CJ, they will pull you up. They'll— I mean, they'll reach down. Walt Disney said there's never any, uh, worry about learning. There's, there's plenty of people who are willing to tell you what you need to know. You just need to find those people, and they'll reach their hand down and pull you up. You don't want to be in a bucket with a bunch of crabs because they'll pull you back in the bucket when you try to get out. They'll reach up and pull you down. That's not a great alliance.
And you find out when you're doing things, as I know that you have, that some of the people that's closest to you, right, how they say— and you get more love from people on the outside that you don't even really know, that you form better alliances with, with people whom you thought that you can grow with. And actually, that's a whole nother story. And then so number 7, as he said be persistent. If you had that burning desire— and then I'm gonna leave it on this because he said something that was key— if you are working, then you are not doing what you were sent here to do. Get that mindset. But first you have to get the first— the mind right. Then we can move on to the next level. Thank you, Dennis, for that, man. Because like I said, if you didn't show nobody else nothing I took, bro. Say, if I can save one, you know what I'm saying, that's what matters. So Dennis, man, let me ask you one more question, man. Then I got this game that I've been playing on the CJ Moneyway Show. It's called Quick Fire Round. 5 rapid questions and you answer the first thing that comes to your mind. But before I get there, my last question: a message for dreamers and doers, man, for those just starting their entrepreneurial Ernie, what's the one thing that they absolutely need to get right before they focus on anything else besides getting their mind right? Give me another one, give me another nugget, man.
That's the number one thing, you got to get your mind right. Uh, one thing that you can do to help is I call it the G vitamin because people get down. I mean, your cycles in life come like the seasons of the year. Sometimes you get down, but there's an antidote for being down, and it's instant. It's called the G vitamin. You take that, and the G vitamin lowers your blood pressure, it makes you live longer, it fights heart conditions, it fights strokes, makes people like you better, improves your relationships, and just improves your overall physical appearance and everything about you. And the G vitamin is free. You don't have to buy it. It's just as free as the air, and it's gratitude. So you can't go in two different directions at once. I live in Dallas. If I go south, I go to Waco. If I go north, I go to Oklahoma. But I can't go both directions at once.
Exactly.
I can either go to Waco or I can go to Oklahoma, or I can go to Louisiana, or I can go to out to middle of nowhere, Midland, Texas. So your car will only go in one direction, and it's the same way with your feelings. So if you're feeling bad and you, you think, oh, wait a minute, stop that. I call it killing ants. Any negative thought sequence, you got to kill that ant and think of something that you're happy about, that you in love with— your wife or your dog or your, you know, your staff or something that you're grateful for. And when I was a little boy, my mother— if I was moping around, my mother would sit me down and make me count my blessings. She'd say, okay, start telling me, you know, who do you appreciate? Well, Mommy and Daddy, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, my cousins, my friends. You know, she'd make me keep going, and after about 30 minutes, I was ready to get out, go out and play. I wasn't feeling bad anymore.
It's helped you so.
It was a pretty good habit. I've been doing it for 77 years now. It works pretty good. So I just don't spend my life feeling bad. Bad things happen, but, you know, I don't let them linger.
Yeah, man. Man after my own heart. I feel you, man. You just got to let some things go. And I say this all the time, even with guests and people I know, you just have to be grateful. And as you said, with the other G word, Man, gratitude, man. And then it all blends together, man. Just be grateful for your life regardless of the bad things that may happen. Like you said earlier, I'ma get up one more time, you know what I'm saying? Hey, that's life. Hey, so, uh, Dennis, man, are you ready for this quick-fire rapid round?
I'm looking forward to it.
All right, man, a lot of people get stuck. The best one I had yesterday was Phyllis. She did the best out of everybody I did this week because everybody gets stuck a little bit on the questions because they think they're gonna be outlandish questions, but real simple, man. So number 1, one book that changed your life.
The book that changed my— well, it was 3 of them. I guess The Greatest Salesman in the World was probably the best. When I started in the business world, the first thing they gave me was Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill, The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino, and Success: The Glenn Bland Method. Probably The Greatest Salesman in the World. The scrolls in the back, I formed those habits. All of the scrolls in the back, I formed all of those habits back in 1975. And literally the earth moved under my feet. I went in a totally different direction than I had ever gone before. And so that's it.
Next question. Next question. Real estate or mindset? What builds wealth faster? I know, I know your answer.
Mindset.
Mindset.
You see, it doesn't— everybody's not going to be a real estate investor. Your desires are gifts from God. God says, here's what you should want to do, but people, they don't listen. Think about the ants. Who tells the ants what to do? Who tells the bees what to do? You know, there's no ant school or bee school. You know, they don't get to go to meetings. They just know what to do. And if you'll just be quiet and listen, God tells you what to do, and don't let your butts get in the way. Just go do it. If you want to be a veterinarian, go be a veterinarian. You know, you don't have to be real estate. It could be whatever your desire is. You look at something— Abraham Lincoln was poor, he had bad luck, he couldn't speak English very well. His parents were illiterate.
He didn't—
I mean, everything was against him. But once he walked into a courtroom and looked around and heard what was going on, he said, 'I'm home. I'm going to be an attorney, and I'll do whatever it takes to pass the bar.' And he did it, starting from less than a first-grade education. Now just imagine passing the bar. There's people who have gone through college and graduate school that can't pass the bar, and he did it with less than a first-grade education. Wow. He knew what he wanted. God told him, this is it. And he became probably the second-best attorney in all of Illinois, and his business partner was the first best.
Mm, man, that's a story right there. Now if he can do it with less than a first grade education, right, any of us could do whatever God calls. Once you go in the direction that God wants you to go in, then he puts his power behind you. As, as Dennis was saying earlier, as he read the book and he realized where he wanted to go to life, and he was— the world just opened up for him. He just started standing up. That's the power of God. When God starts moving in your life but we have to start moving first or give him something to push you for. You know what I'm saying? If you standing still, he's not gonna push. So I like that, Dennis, man. Man, you ain't been doing nothing but dropping nuggets all day, Dennis. I love it. Hey, morning ritual you would never skip.
Morning ritual. Well, it's great. Gratefulness. You know, one of the things I do every single morning is I'm grateful for my wife, and I name all of the members of my family right down to my dog. Who I love, and my daughter's dog, who I love equally as well. And then I go through my staff and I go through my health. You know, I can see— I had a terrible stroke back in 2018, and I went blind and I couldn't walk. And one of my goals was I was going to get better, and I was going to think clearly, and I was going to be well, and I wasn't going to look like I had gone through a stroke. And so I'm grateful every day that I have a body that works and a mind that works, and that most people don't think I look 77 years old. Now, you know, there's a lot of people that are my age or didn't make it to my age, you know, that's got a lot of problems. And I'm so grateful that, you know, what the condition that I'm in. Good questions. Oh, how am I doing?
Oh, you're doing excellent. Every question you dropped a nugget, man. Man, you know, being grateful for life. Every day he wakes us up, just, just thank you because he didn't forget about you today, you know what I'm saying? He didn't forget about us. He breathed breath into our nostrils and woke us up on this day, man. And so how can we not give him thanks for doing that, man? Because if it wasn't for him, it wouldn't be no me, man. Yeah, man, you dropping nuggets, D. Hey, so That is my favorite quote that keeps you going.
There's a quote that I really like by Zig Ziglar that says, little by little, a little becomes a lot.
Mm.
If you just read 20 pages on a 200-page book every day, in a year you will have read 20 books. That's 19 more than the average person. Just think how much that will set you apart. That's a Zig Ziglar quote. That— I like that one a lot.
Now, a little is a lot. That's also biblical too. The lady that had a little oil went out, got the vessels, said, well, there isn't any more vessels. Had it been more vessels, it would have been more oil. So a little can be a lot, as we just said in the one before, when God's power is behind it. So then one more question, man. Okay, one word. To describe your legacy?
One word: habits.
Mm.
If I can get people to change their habits, then it'll change their life. And this book is my legacy. And the only reason— I guess I could have said book, but it's more than one word. It's Real Impact Daily Inspiration. But this is my legacy. I didn't write this book to make a million dollars, CJ. I wrote this book to help a million people. And Zig Ziglar said, if you can help people get what they want, you'll get what you want. So that's why I give the book away, because if you read this ebook that I've given you, realimpactbook.com, scroll down the bottom and get the ebook for free. If you read it, you're going to think of 3 or 4 people and you think, oh man, this will really help my nephew that's about to graduate from high school. 'Oh, my niece is graduating from college,' or 'My aunt is in the nursing home, will love this. She can read these stories and share them with friends.' I mean, you'll think of 5 or 6 people, and the next thing you know, you're going to be ordering 5 or 6 books. So giving them away has turned out to be the very best way, because once you read the book, then you see the value. Now, there's a mystery You see the picture on the front? What's that?
It looks like a cup, one like back in the day, one of them, uh, matter of fact, I Dream of Jeannie, uh, thing.
It's Aladdin's lamp.
Yeah.
So if you go to realimpactbook.com, the very first link says The Mystery of the Lamp. You click on that and there's a recording that tells you why this book is like Aladdin's lamp. Okay, but you have to have the book. The ebook won't work if Aladdin had taken a picture of the lamp and somebody rubbed it, it didn't work. You've got to have the book in order for it to work. Wow, change your life. I mean, really, really go to Amazon and read. People will say, oh Dennis, this book came just at the right time. I needed this so bad. It's just what I needed. Go read them. I didn't write them. There's people all over the world writing these things. So it's a powerful book. And look, the stories were great before I put them in there, you know. I didn't come up— I, I just took the stories that I'd heard over the years and polished them and researched them and made them better. But they're really powerful stories, and they'll make you cry. They're cathartic. Tears running down your eyes to see what some of these went through and still became super successful.
Man, can't wait to grab my copy, Dennis, man, and get on this ritual that you're talking about. Read 5 minutes a day or take time to read, whether you got 15 seconds, 4 seconds to read a quote before you go to bed, 15 minutes, whether you got 2 hours, whether if you're at the airport waiting. I can't wait to get my hands on this book because you have inspired me. Because there's one thing as you were speaking, man, and I did have to say this before we go in You said that you have to have a burning desire to want to do what you doing, and when you had that burning desire, it's no longer work, it's something that you enjoy doing. It becomes fun. And I'm working on a project and I have put myself in it. I enjoy doing it. I look forward coming home, doing it every day when I'm at work. And people have been trying to pour water on my fire, but I'm not gonna allow it because I see something that they don't see, you know, and I'm gonna keep it moving, man. So yeah, like I said, man, you really have inspired me today and you don't even know how many ways. So then, hey Dennis, man, where can we find you on social media, man?
Go to realeffectbook.com and up at the top, if you want to get in, in touch with me You can click on where it says Contact Us. It has my name and email address and phone number. You can literally just call me if you have a— you want to talk with me about something. And if you want to find me, go to Google, type in Dennis J. Hanson, and you'll find 50 pages around. You can go to YouTube and type in Dennis J. Hanson. So I'm easy to find.
Yeah, yeah.
And I'm always available.
I love it when I had guests that say that because I tell people that when I'm on somebody's show, I'd be like, man, just Google CJ Moneyway, man, you'll find me. I ain't hard to find. I don't have time to go through the C.J. Moneyway, you know what I'm saying, for Instagram. Now, man, just Google me, it's all there. So I love it.
