Unlearning Religion, Reclaiming Power: A Conversation with Reginald D

Reginald Martin, a former Christian who moved through atheism to spiritual practice, teaches that thoughts become things and that humans are divine, not broken. He uses Kemetic metaphysics and a technique called paradoxical Heka to integrate shadow aspects of yourself and reprogram beliefs about unworthiness and money.

Yeah, CJ Moneyway. This some clothes. Welcome to the CJ Moneyway Show, the place where we build purpose, mindset, freedom, and legacy brick by brick. Today's conversation is not your usual motivational talk. Nah, it's deeper, it's transformational, and it challenges what most of us were taught to believe about spirituality, identity, and cursing or power. I guess journey didn't start in enlightenment, it started in depression, religious conflict, and invisible scripts we inherit without ever choosing. Until one moment, while preparing for a talk, he stumbled into science. Suddenly life made sense. But it's programming. But it's programming. Today, emerging new health spiritual leaders, creatives, and high achievers rewrite their internal operating system. Reclaim their sovereignty and live boldly on their own terms. This is a conversation about awareness, about freedom from unconscious patterns, and about choosing Who you become? Come, come, come, come, come. Reginald. Reginald. Reginald.
Welcome to the CJ Moneyway Show.
What's up, my good people? Welcome to the CJ Moneyway Show, the place where we build purpose, mindset, freedom, and legacy break by break. Today's conversation is not your usual motivational talk. It's deeper, it's transformational, and it challenges everything you thought you knew about spirituality, identity, and personal power. Reginald's journey didn't just start in enlightenment. It started in depression, religious conflict, and battling invisible scripts we inherit without realizing it. Until one moment, preparing for a talk, he stumbled into this specific type of science that we already discussed. I ain't going to try to name. And suddenly, life made sense, not as punishment, but as programming. Today he helps spiritual leaders, creators, and high achievers rewrite their internal operating system, reclaim their identities, and live boldly on their own. Hey, welcome to the show today, my man Reginald. Hey, how you doing, Reg?
CJ, I'm doing great, man. It is a pleasure to be here.
Oh man, thank you for coming on, man. So me and Reg, we both got it established. We both— well, he still is, I'm a former Cowboy fan, so that's one thing that we got in connection. There. We both talked about the Lakers and how Luka, you know, may or may not win a championship with the Lakers. We'll let you think about that and ponder on that because we ain't gonna get too deep into our conversation and get some backlash. So, Reginald, man, let me ask you, bro, the awakening, man. You know, people start, ah, hey, man, come on, man, we know Luka don't play no defense. You said that your spiritual journey began in the middle of depression and figmentation. What was the moment that cracked everything wide open for you inside?
Man, CJ, it's always been around my relationships, man. So, you know, who I'm dating, who I was married to at the time, all of that. So I had always asked questions, even from when I was a young boy, you know, about things that were then that I know now as spiritual ideas. But then it was just like, you know, well, hey, what's going on? It was my divorce. Back in 2000, that really started me to asking a lot of questions about a lot of things. And, you know, for a long time I was somebody who had deconstructed from Christianity, you know, pretty early in my life. You know, I was just like, something's not right here. And I got a lot of questions about it, but nobody could answer them. So I just said, you know, well, freak it, I'm, man, I'm going to be an atheist. So for a while I was an atheist. I even went to— I got a basketball scholarship to a what was a Bible college. I wasn't, you know, in the seminary, but, you know, I was playing ball there and I was around it, you know. So while I was there, I was like, man, I'm not gonna believe what y'all are telling me to believe, so I'm just atheist. So I was basically in rebellion stage the whole time I was there, you know, so before I graduated there. But go through my ups and downs, CJ, all those years, I was in the deconstruction phase for, man, probably 20 years, you know. And a lot of people think that deconstruction is like the end, but that's the start. You know, but my divorce really started me on a journey. And then even after that, one of the things that came around was The Secret was around. This was around 2006. And for the first time, I started hearing a language that could actually frame a lot of the things that I kind of knew deep down, but I never heard anybody voice it. And one of those things was thoughts become things. Okay, so, so the idea that your mind is really a projection, or life is really a projection of your mentality and your beliefs. Okay, now my relationships, and I said my relationships really kind of made that real for me because after my divorce, CJ, I was dating, you know, and man, you know, you get out there and you're like, okay, I'm free, you know, I can go and do what I want to do, you know, live my life and, you know, everything. So, but I started noticing, man, The same things that were happening, the same things were happening with every woman that I dated. You know, it was just, it was like, you know, woman after woman after woman. So I realized, I said to myself, you know what, something is off here. I don't know what, but unless all these women got together and conspired to treat me the same way, the only common denominator here is me.
Is you. Yeah.
So at that point I started to realize that there was something in me that was making me choose these type women that I was dating. So that was like, boom, like something hit me. And then when The Secret came out and said thoughts become things, your beliefs really are the projection, or life is a projection of your beliefs, essentially, that made total sense to me based on how I was choosing the women that I was dating. So that kind of like opened up I guess a can of worms, I don't know. I mean, for Life, man, for me it was a can of whoop-ass. But you know, but that's what started me to asking a lot of questions, man, and just led me down a road to where the stuff that I teach now.
Hey man, I find it interesting, and I catch myself saying this quite a bit, it is amazing how God works. Because I'm listening to you and you say you dump Christianity altogether, you know what I'm saying? First, let's go back, train up a child in the way that they should go, and when they get older, they won't depart from it. So trained up, ah, I'm gonna walk away from that, I don't like that. Then you say that you got a scholarship to play ball at a school that, you know what I'm saying, teach Christianity, you know what I'm saying? But I'm going there to be, um, I'm an atheist, I ain't believing nothing y'all say. And I say that because it's amazing how he works Here it is in my mind, your mind. I'm not doing that. I'm not, you know what I'm saying? That ain't part of me. That ain't me. But he places us in places that we don't want to be, just like Joseph when he was in the prison. Joseph didn't want to be in the prison, but while he was there, he was learning something. It was some skills that was being developed in him to take him to the next level, you know what I'm saying? So even when we in places we don't want to be, God is still working. And so it's just funny how he puts you in Got a scholarship, graduated from there. So he was there for a mighty long time and was playing ball. Although some things may not been— well, you know, I'm taking it in, but I'm taking it in, you know what I'm saying? Because he's building something in me that I can't see. But now you're doing great things out here now, man. So everybody said what you doing, man. So I appreciate you coming on, man, and sharing this. And on that note, Reginald, man, let me ask you, what did you discover in this— I can't say it— but the science, the scientific research that you was doing, man, that was missing from traditional faith systems.
Yeah, what I found was there was a total different way of thinking about being, and is what I call the ontology of being. And when I say ontology, I mean that that is the idea of studying who we are, you know, as from the level of essence, from the level of our soul. So a big shift from the religious way of thinking was we are broken, we're flawed, we're sinful, you know, something is wrong with us and we need something outside of us to save us. Okay. But from the ancient Kemetic perspective and many other ancient spiritual systems, we are born divine. We are an extension of it. Okay. And our journey is about recognizing the divinity within ourselves and then faithfully reproducing that as the reflection of our lives. Okay, so that ontological shift is one thing that really shifted me because in a lot of ways, and just people that I've talked with, people that I've coached over the years, one of the things that they went through, CJ, was the idea that they believed that they were cursed or, you know, something was wrong with them. And you ask a question, you know, well, what's wrong with me? You know, Even asking that question, what I know now is from a Kemetaphysics perspective, from the spiritual science perspective, is that as soon as you ask a question like that, you're directing your consciousness to go and confirm what it is that you believe. Okay, thoughts become things. Okay, so if you believe you're broken, then the universe or God or whatever you want to call that is going to reflect that back to you to show you what you're thinking. And at that point, what you are designed to do is to transmute anything that's negative into positive. In other words, you take the negative stuff and you now— now what I know is that you actually use that as fuel, your fuel for your transformation. Okay, so that's a shift, you know, from I'm broken to I'm whole, and then I got to get back to that point. Okay, even while physical, you can connect to that wholeness that you are as a soul having a human experience.
I like that, man. Especially you say, you say, I'm an extension of it, you know what I'm saying? I'm an extension of it. And then you said too, like, you know, if I'm thinking negative thoughts, if I'm thinking this is going into the atmosphere, you know, because I know the scriptures say that as a man thinketh, so is he.
So is he. Yep.
Yeah, so if I'm sitting around saying like, oh man, I'm broke, I'm poor, I'm this, I'm that, as a man thinketh, so is he.
The universe is going to reflect that back to you faithfully. It's going to show you that same belief over and over. It's going to give it back to you.
Excuse me, even at times we don't want it.
Yeah, well, the deal is, is that even if we don't want it but we believe that we are, the universe is going to confirm what you believe you are. It gives you who you are, not what you want. That's the difference. So as a man thinketh, so is he. That means your thoughts and you are the same thing. That's the deep part of that, okay? You as a man thinketh, so is he. So that means that when you think something, you are just projecting who you are outside of you, and then life becomes that reflection. It is both the same. It's like being— it's like an equation. There's one side of your thoughts on one side and life is the other side. But the equation is you thought something and life reflects it back to you. So that's the deal with that.
I like that, man. You deep. So let me ask you this, Reg, man. You say you went to college and, you know, you graduated. What did you major in?
Business and psychology. So I had a double major.
Okay.
So, so I love thinking. I love why do we do what we do and how do we think and why do we think what we think. So all of that stuff was me. Long before I even got into this, man.
You know, I asked because, like I said earlier, you know, it's funny how God does that, you know, set you in a place here and there. But you were already on this path, you know what I'm saying? He was already training you. You know, you got to get trained for certain things. As I said with Joseph, you know, it's just certain things you got to go through. He had to go through the— he had to go in the dungeon, he had to go to the potter's house, he had to go in the prison. So it's a lot of different Avenues that we got to take sometimes to get to what we saw in the dream.
Yes, that's what I call it. See, a lot of times what a lot of our systems now is, they look at shadow work, okay? And from an ancient Kemetic perspective and Kemetic physics, shadows are not necessarily shadows, okay? The shadow work is, is that the common ideas is that it's something that we're blind to, we can't see it, it's in the dark, it's in the shadows. Okay, but from a Kemetic perspective, the shadows are the things that you don't like being reflected back to you as light. So if you can look at life from a symbolic perspective, in a way, because all it is is energy that is transformed into some type of form that you can recognize, but you have to be able to look at that shadow. Say, like, for me, I told you about the women that I was dating, okay? Most people would say, man, what's wrong with these women? What's wrong with women out here? And you see a lot of women. What's wrong with all these men out here? You know, but in reality, it is you being projected. They're showing you something about you. And rather you pointing the finger and me blaming those women that there was something wrong with them, it was something in me that was making me choose them, and life was reflecting that back. So that's how the shadow comes to life. That's how it comes to light through you, is when you can understand what these people and events represent about you.
I like that, man, because I tell you one thing, Reg, my shadow was so bad it was hiding from me because I couldn't see myself, you know what I'm saying? Because like, right, you know, you go through this and this and that, you know, you want to blame everybody else, and this person fault, that person fault, whatever, whatever. Wait a minute, because like you said earlier, wait a minute, the common denominator is me. And until I get myself straight, until I align myself with the universe, you know what I'm saying, we got to where I supposed to be, I'm gonna continue doing the same thing, making the same choices over and over again until I get to the root cause of the problem, which is me. You know what I'm saying?
So, and it's the old saying is you're going to get the lesson over and over until you learn it. You know, until you really alchemize it or integrate it, you're going to keep getting that same lesson over and over. And that's what really— what I've learned now is not about— because a lot of times what we want to do is we want to bypass the shadow, okay? We want to try to interrupt the shadow. We want to try to do all these things that ends up fueling the thing that we don't want. It is giving fuel to it. But instead, we should really integrate the shadow because it is a part of who we are. It's like seeing night and day are not one or two aspects of the same thing. You know, so light and dark within you, the shadow, it is an aspect of you. And if you think about it, God, the universe, everything that exists in the universe is So whether it's light and dark, it's still an aspect of the Creator, and so are you, you know. So you can't say, okay, well, this part over here is not a part of the Creator because it's the darkness. And even in Isaiah 45:7, I am God, I am the Creator of all things, I create the light and the dark. Okay, well, I'm paraphrasing that, but that, but that's essentially what Isaiah 45:7 says, is that I am all. When Moses asked, who am I? Oh, who should I tell them sent me? The simple answer was, I am. Yeah. And with that, with that, I am that I am, which means that whatever you looking at, whatever you're experiencing, it's the I am. That includes you.
I like that. I like it.
Okay, so instead of fighting the shadow, integrate it. And that's where I've learned how to teach processes to make that something, make that a simple process that we literally, instead of trying to bypass, spiritual bypass, oh, it's all love and light, you know, when you're getting your butt whooped every day. Yeah, because we're all loving light, but boom, life comes, you know.
Yeah, yeah, okay, that's some dark days, you know what I'm saying?
Exactly, exactly. But at that point, what it ends up doing is we end up creating our own adversary. We end up being adversarial to ourselves. And so instead of being adversarial, you learn to— you learn a way of what I call paradoxical Heka that actually helps you to integrate the shadow. Okay. And then when you integrate it, that means you can roll it into who you are, love and appreciate all of you.
I like that. Let me ask you a question, Reginald, man, because you said it a few times. You said that when you got divorced, you went back out there to the dating scene and, you know, saying things of that nature. So let me ask you this, man. So I know, you know, getting a divorce and things, I know that can be a part of darkness. How did you overcome that, bro? How did you overcome that and start seeing, you know, saying the light again, bro?
Let me tell you something, it took me a while, okay? Because I mean, you got to think about it, CJ. I don't know if you've ever been married or if you are married, but, uh, when I got divorced, brother, I, you know, I had the house, the car, the kids, the dog, you know, I had all of that stuff, you know. But when I got divorced, it was ripped away from me, you know. So my kids stayed in my house, my ex-wife stayed in my house, and then brought her boyfriends into my house, you know. Okay, so, uh, you know, so, so all of this stuff was happening. So, brother, let me tell you I was one angry dude.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm gonna tell you something, if I was still Christian at that point, I probably would have killed somebody and just asked God to forgive me, man. Okay, that's how mad I was. But one day it hit me because I was so angry, I was bitter because my ex-wife cheated on me, okay? So that's what ended up being the thing that tore us apart. But you know, even that, man, it causes questions, you know. Well, I wasn't enough, you know, I didn't do it right, or, you know, whatever. But at that point, I was angry at her, man, for years. I mean angry. I wanted an apology, okay? Still haven't gotten that apology. It's been over 25 years, okay? But I had to reconcile it, CJ. I had to integrate it, but I didn't have a name for it then, okay? But what happened was I— something hit me one day, and there was this old Buddhist saying that says holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
Mm-hmm. Killing yourself, dude.
When I finally came to that realization, and it was one day I realized, man, she's living her life, she ain't worried about me. I'm angry at her, but she ain't worrying about me, you know. I'm never going to get that apology. And once I recognized that, I said, you know what, I have to let it go. You know, because, man, I felt betrayed. That was part of my anger. But I was mad at myself for feeling duped. Okay. But at that point, I had to recognize, even though I was feeling duped, I still had to honor that aspect and still honor the goodness in me.
Mm-hmm.
I had to live with both of those. And once I was able to integrate that, then I was able to say, to let it go. As we would say, you know. So that was a lesson. I can look back now on it, and I can go back and filter it through what I teach now. But all of us go through that same process, whether it's grief or anything like that. When we get over it, we all, on some level, we integrate.
Mm, I like that. You know what, because you said something about grief, and I was just talking to my brother about this the other day because I'm going to the season— oh, our family going to the season of my father, 10 years, you know. Passed away 10 years, and we all grieve differently, you know what I'm saying? Like me, I do it in the creative, you know what I'm saying, fashion and this and that. Because you just said something that was key to me, and I told my brother, so I'm not trying to be harsh, but the reality is that he not coming back, you feel what I'm saying? Like, he's not coming back. So at some point you have to get over something, you know, because sometimes we can wallow in stuff, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, wallowing in it and this and that. But you can integrate it, you know what I'm saying? That's why I like what you said, you can integrate it. Now, yeah, I'm always gonna love you, you know what I'm saying, this and that. I'm always gonna miss you.
There you go.
Integrated into my system now, you know what I'm saying, that I do something positive like I'm doing a video, you know what I'm saying, on the 22nd of this month, because that's my way of releasing. So I just integrated the pain, you know what I'm saying, because now I'm listening to, listening to the great doctor, man, the scientific, uh, scientist over here, man. I had to Integrate some things, man.
No, but CJ, what's so beautiful about that is you just talked about the process that I teach called paradoxical heka. But I do some other things around that to help that. But what we have to do in that case is that we have to hold two truths at one time. That's the paradox. Most people think a paradox is something that is contradictory, but really and truly, a paradox means that it is this and that. A contradiction is it is this or that. And most systems teach that we're going to deal with this or that. We try to cope with things. But if you think about it, the process that you just talked about is that you had to integrate. You had to go— even if you didn't have the language for it, you accepted this and that. Even though he's gone I can recognize even the beauty and the good times that I had with my father. But I can also recognize— and I can recognize the loss that I had with him, but I can also recognize the beauty and the relationship that I had with him and the good times. Those are not two exclusive things. But once you can recognize that, yes, I'm grieving the loss, but then I can also appreciate the goodness of who he was and the goodness of who we were, that permanence, you just integrated it and you can find peace. That's going to be the thing. So it's like, it's what we call— I call it like a trinity. You have two poles, the grieving and then the acceptance, you know, of who you are and really just stepping into the permanence of that relationship. And then that third thing, which is the peace, is created from it.

It's two things, you know, like it was a song back in the day. What'd you say? You can get with this or you can get with that. You can get—
there you go.
Yeah, if y'all didn't know, we go a little bit back. We telling our age a little bit, you know what I'm saying? It is what it is. Hey, so Let me ask you, Reggie, the programming behind the program— you talk about invisible scripts, belief, obedience, guilt, punishment. What are the most common programs running people's lives without them knowing?
Man, one of the biggest ones, CJ, is just the idea that I am unworthy. I am unworthy of love, especially— and I can just— let me talk about this in the context of men, CJ. Is men carry this idea that if they are not making enough money, they are not worthy of love. But from that perspective, what happens is that you end up— and I— and this is something that I had always struggled with, is that at some point you have to recognize that you are worthy just to be, just to live, to be human. You have something that is worthy and worthwhile for you being. But that's one of the invisible scripts that ends up, I'm not worthy of love, or I'm unworthy of making a lot of money. Because, you know, as we grew up with— I grew up with the idea that money is the root of all evil. Now, I know the scripture didn't say that, says the love of money, but how we practiced it is a different thing. Okay, you know, so money is the root of all evil. So in that sense, to even make money, you literally create a conflict within yourself. That I'm making money, but am I being bad because I'm making money? CJ, even to enjoy life, to enjoy a day in your life, we were taught that to have joy or to enjoy something too much, it might be a sin. Okay, so these are these invisible conflicts that we carry in our lives, and we're talking about— and I'm talking about here manifestation, that that's really the foundation of manifestation science. Okay, and I'm really getting deep with it here because we want to— thoughts become things. But if you're not even aware of those beliefs behind those thoughts, the ones that are unspoken, then you're projecting something with it into your life that you're not even aware of. That's why I'm saying that when people talk about a shadow from an ancient metaphysics perspective, it's not a shadow. Life is showing you what you believe. But if you believe I'm unworthy, okay, I'm unlovable, you know, you carrying those things, you carry those into your relationships day to day, and that stuff impacts us. So I even recognize that even though I had left the religious ideas, I still carried in me the religious programming, that hidden programming.
I like that. Because it ain't about religion. You know, you said something, you made me think about something. I was just talking to a guy before I got on with you. We were chopping it up, we were talking, and I told him, you know, like, I'm doing something now. I always had something in the pockets, and I realized something, you know, with the Moneyway Show. Like I told you, my father's, uh, thing coming up. I got my book, fit to be out 10 years, uh, on the 15th this year. So I was doing— thanks, man, appreciate it. So I was trying to, you know, just sitting around doing some campaign and stuff or whatever. And so I started making these songs, you know what I'm saying? I'm curious. I'm like, wow, I can do this. And so I started making these songs. So it's about my life, you know what I'm saying? I'm talking about, you know what I'm saying, the things that we had been through, the things that, you know what I'm saying, that I've been through from Gary and this and that. And so something you said that made me think about that, because now some people like, well, you know, somebody rapping over a song and this and that, that ain't spiritual. Why not? You know what I'm saying? Why can't I talk about my life in the way that I'm talking about it? Because it can resonate and relate to somebody else. Because we judge people based on how you think that things should be presented. But I know that the word said, man, come as you are, you know what I'm saying? Because God gonna meet you where you are.
Exactly. See, JC, that's the thing. And I want you to understand, for me, I'm not adversarial towards Christianity. There was a time that I was, but I've learned that there is still some nuggets of truth that is within it. So in all these systems You just got to recognize the distortions. But that is a distortion. What you just said to me is that somebody says this or that is not spiritual. That to me, from an ancient Kemetic perspective, everything is spiritual because you are a spiritual being having a human experience. Okay, you're not a human being that is trying to reach spirituality because that's another thing that's different from the ancient Kemetic perspective is that you— that wholeness is your starting point, okay? And when things are not going right, you're out of alignment, not broken. And when I say out of alignment, you're out of vibrational alignment, because everything is an energetic structure that is built. All of our lives, all of our thoughts are actually— underneath is an energetic structure that forms whatever that is. Okay, so everything is spiritual, man. There's nothing that's not. So that to me is, again, it's a religious notion that you have to make the split between the secular and spirituality. And man, that causes conflict immediately because you gotta even think these thoughts. And tell me if you've ever had this thought, CJ: is this from God or is this from the devil?
Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's just like the cartoon back in the day, the Flintstones. Yeah, yeah, like the good one, Frederick, and then you had the enemy, you know. So which one am I listening to? Okay.
Yeah. And see, but the thing is, that's again from a Kemetic perspective, that's the shadow and the light. It ain't from God or the devil, it's from— it's all of you, man. So you're not— you're not to fight one or the other, you are to integrate it. And just like the grief, the same principle works as I was saying to you with the grief. Either you're going to recognize and honor the grief and then accept the wholeness of who you are, or you're going to be in total conflict. And that conflict is really where the illness and disease and all of that starts.
I like that. You know, you made me think about something, man, when you just said that, like, uh, we don't fight against— you know what I'm saying— just integrated and not fight against the scripture that say that we don't fight against flesh and blood, but because principalities of wickedness in higher places. So I'm not fighting against the wickedness. I'm integrating because it's going to be a part of me. And so it's not only part of you, yeah, at some point I need this spiritual side of me to be able to come back, you know what I'm saying, to integrate the darkness of it so that the light can overshadow the darkness, you know what I'm saying.
Bingo, bingo. I'm trying to stay with you, uh, no, CJ, the way you talking about it, brother, you already doing it, you know it, but it just makes makes sense.
Yeah.
And you know, even through the practice of life, somebody like us that we have lived life, we know a lot of times the things that we were taught, that, oh, you just lay it at the feet of Jesus, or, oh, you just do it this— you can't lay it at the feet, brother. You got to work on it. So you got to let it work. You got to work within you, you know. And that, that's one of the other things that I found, CJ, was when I went back to studying the ancient teachings, that a lot of these ideas that became the dogmatic stuff was actually some very deep spiritual stuff, man, you know. So the ancient idea of Jesus was the revealer. It was the light, the light of the world. And the light was— is when that light bulb came on and you go, oh dang, I just figured something out, okay. And then at that point, that's where the wisdom comes in. And the wisdom is what they call the idea of the Christ, the K-R-S-T. Okay, the Christ is the person who has reached a level of wisdom and understanding through their life experiences, not because— not trying to overcome their life experiences. They integrate it all and then gain the wisdom, because wisdom is the inner contemplation of knowledge.
You've been reading my book, Reggie. It say wisdom is That's a good thing. So at all you'll get, get to understand. So you said something earlier, man. Let me go here, man. I love great conversation.
No, no, man, I love this. This is why we talking, man. Let's have a conversation. I love this.
Hey, so you said something about alignment not too long ago, so let me ask you this, uh, Red. Manifestation, alignment, and sovereignty. You say you don't teach belief. You help people remember. What does that mean to you?
Yeah, because see, beliefs is something that it is completely like a mental process, okay? And it is something that it like, it keeps you on one level. And, and CJ, I actually use like a diagram to explain this because the mind cannot heal the mind. I don't care what you do. I know I'm saying something that's going to seem crazy when I first say it, but once you analyze it, it makes sense. The mind— and you think of it in a diagram way— you think of the mind as on one plane. It's like on a horizontal plane, and it's the idea of doing and having, okay? And you ever heard the saying, uh, as within, so without? Okay, so that's, that's this idea. So there's this axis All right, so the mind is completely working on this axis, and then you cannot heal, or you cannot heal something from the same level of consciousness that created it. If the mind created the fear, you cannot heal the fear with the mind. You have to do something else. So you have to take it to another axis, the axis of being. Okay, I am, and then the— and what I am as something in the physical, as above, so below. Okay, so once you create that, once you take that, and then let's just take the idea of the grief that I was talking about, because you can talk about, you know, even though I miss my father, I can honor the loneliness, or I can honor the longing for him, but I recognize that on some level we are both connected in spirit. Okay, what I did was just take the mental idea and I just said that, that I honor the fear that I'm having, that mental battle that I'm having. But then what I did was just connected that to the essence of who we both are, who you and your father, Father is. That took it from that loop and then added in the idea of being. And then the paradox that is created is the peace. Okay. All right. So what we're talking about here is actually— and that goes beyond belief. At that point, it's not even about belief. It's about that when you hold two truths, the subconscious mind cannot reconcile that or cannot hold two truths at the same time. So what it's going to do is reconcile it at the highest level of alignment, of vibrational alignment, which is that essence of who you are. That foundational essence, okay? When you do that, you instantly shift. So you can be in grief for years, but once you make that realization— and tell me if this is not true— you can be in grief for years, but once you can make that realization and understand that, yes, I long for him, but I also know that I can appreciate the relationship that we had, and I can still connect to what that relationship was Tell me if that didn't bring some peace to you. You might not have said it in those words, but you had to recognize that. And then the shift didn't take years. You battled it for years, but the shift happened in an instant. Okay, is that true or not?
Yeah, I mean, you know, like you say, you battle with stuff or whatever, but it's not about them because at some point, you know what I'm saying, that you may not even realize— I'm talking about myself, you know, whatever.— that I came to peace with that, you know what I'm saying, or whatever. Because what's done can't be undone, you know. It is what it is. So that can't be undone. And so what can be done is you finding a mental ground, as you were saying, you finding a mental ground to make that connection. You know, like you teaching me something, to make that connection where I can still remember the good times that we had, you know what I'm saying. Although I'm at this point, but I can still remember these times and just put them together and it's not overwhelming. You know what I'm saying?
You can appreciate both aspects at the same time, and then that's where the peace comes. That's the paradox. And that's what I call paradoxical Heka, is the idea that you literally are speaking— because CJ, your breath is conscious, everything in the universe is conscious, that means your breath is too. There's a reason why we identify some spirits symbolically with breath, okay? Because it is something that is unseen, but we know that it's real, okay? We breathe it. Also, we can breathe it into the atmosphere, but we can also take it within us. So that means it literally is connecting our inner self to our outer world through breath. So when you're speaking, even though I might feel the longing for my father, I still can understand and appreciate the essence of who he was to me and who I am to him now.
You know what, Reg, man, I'm gonna tell you something, man. I'm gonna put it out there publicly because I try to be as transparent as I can, you know, not just with my— with myself first of all, you know what I'm saying? Because if I can be transparent with myself and be honest with myself, then I can be transparent and honest with other people, you know what I'm saying? That goes back to what we was talking about earlier the other day. Like I said, I'm doing this thing, and so I did the song for my father, and it showed me how many times I listened to it. So I listened to this song 22 times, right? 22 times, didn't shed a tear, you know what I'm saying? May have one, but didn't shed a tear, you know, because like you say, you making me think, because I'm at peace on that level. Did a song for my mother, you know what I'm saying? Did the same song, did a song for my mother, listened to it one time. One time I'm crying like that. I'm sitting up there in the car like, I listened to this one song 22 times and ain't shed a tear. I listened to this song one time and here I am crying like a, you know what I'm saying? I ain't going to sound a boohoo, but it brought tears to my eyes, you know what I'm saying? Because I take it, you know, and I could be going off track with this because I take it that, you know, because my mother's still here, You know what I'm saying?
That, you know, no, that's not it. Can I explain the science of that behind it?
Go ahead, man, you the scientist, man. Come on.
Okay, so this is what happens when something happens, because music in itself is a paradox, okay? If you think of the upbeat and the downbeat, you can't have one without the other, okay? So in itself it's a paradox. And it's like when you hear a song— you ever heard this great song, man? You might have been in church, heard this great song, man, and these chills and stuff come all over you. Okay, yeah, that is the signal that a paradox is happening within you. Okay, so when you was listening to the song about your mother, you was appreciating something about it. There was a paradox of something that happened there. Okay, the tears is a signal that you're actually trying to reconcile something there, you know, and it doesn't have to be necessarily something negative. Okay, but you can reconcile, you can appreciate, and what they call is the chills and stuff, the goosebumps Science has a name for it. It's called frisson, okay, which means shivers, all right? But that is literally a state that your body and mind has now connected and is in coherence, vibrational alignment. Even the tears can be a signal for that, okay? It might be a yawning that, that happens, but in those moments, there is definitely somatic experiences physical experiences that can mark when it's working. Okay, the difference is, is if you're just listening to music and you haven't set an intention behind it— because what intention is, is like the remote control for consciousness. You direct it, okay? Whether it's in thought or speech, you have to direct what you want your consciousness to recognize and what you wanted to do, how you wanted to shape the energy. So when you're listening to that song about your mother, okay, set an intention that this song is going to help calibrate and tune my energetic field. And when you have those tears or those chills come over you, then it's working to actually bring your whole field back into alignment. It has nothing to do with whether you believe it or not. When you feel the chills or you get some tears, you might be watching a movie, brother, And that movie hits you, you know. Now, us brothers don't— we don't want to admit that.
I know.
Okay, but all of that— but what that is, is that's that tension that all of a sudden reconciles on some level. And you can literally program your whole energetic field because if you can get underneath the beliefs— because the beliefs are built on a distorted field— but if you can get underneath the beliefs and correct the field, so to speak, The beliefs, the old beliefs cannot hold. And then the new beliefs start to— you won't start thinking the old way. And what'll happen is you'll see in hindsight, dang, I wasn't thinking negative the other day about this in this situation. Or man, this didn't charge me up like it used to. That's what you'll start to notice. So what I'm saying here, CJ, is I'm not asking you to believe me. Try it. Okay, do it daily. Just set an intention and speak a paradox. And what you want to do is connect to the essence self, not the circumstances, because you just— if you just name two circumstances, that's not a paradox. But you're going to name your essence or the circumstance, and then you're going to connect it to your essence. You might just say something as simple as, even though I have a longing for my father I still love and accept myself completely.
I like that.
Okay, if you can just do that, that's one simple statement that you can use with anything. Okay, and when you can do that, even when you taking that moment that you might be feeling something, stop and say your statement. Hey, even though I might be feeling angry, but I'm just taking another— even though I might be feeling angry or feeling dukkha right now, I still love, completely love and accept who I am as essence. Okay, that's the paradox. And when you're doing that, CJ, you're literally creating that third thing. It has to organize around that higher aspect, that higher vibrational aspect of who you are. Mm-hmm.
Reg over here getting deep on us, y'all. Y'all better be listening, man. There's some stuff that can save your life or help you fine-tune your life, man, and get to the point where we fit to get to now. Reg, I only got a couple more questions for you, man. But before I go there, man, before I get to this point right here, let me ask you, where can we find your program? Where can we find you at, man? Where can we find the stuff that you do, man, and follow you on social media?
No, hey, I appreciate that, man. The best place you can find me is on Substack. So I do a lot of writing and teaching there. But, uh, subset reginaldmartin.substack.com. Okay, and that's like the entry point. So I just try to keep it simple, and that's the entry point to anything and everything that I do. And, uh, you can go there, and man, I'm doing articles. So that's my newsletter, and I'm doing articles 3 times a week, and I'm helping people to deconstruct the negative programming. Okay, and a lot of times what deconstruction is, is simply critique. You know, it's critiquing and talking about, it's venting, stuff like that. What I'm teaching here, and even what we've been talking about here, CJ, is what's next. What do we do? How do we live this? Okay, so paradoxical Heka— metaphysics helps you to understand the ancient symbolism and stuff like that, and then paradoxical Heka is the processes that you use to actually bring yourself back into alignment and peace.
So on that note, Reginald, man, let me ask you this, jumping into this question, the bridge forward. What's one emotional loop or belief somebody can start reprogramming themselves with today?
Oh man, you can name it. So the program that I'm broken, okay? Because our society, if you think about it, it's not just religion. Religion says you're a sinner, you're born sinner, and you know you need to save. Psychology says that, you know, something's wrong with you mentally. Medicine says that you are diseased, that something is wrong with you. All of these are ideas that you're broken, something is wrong with you. But if you shift that ontology from brokenness to using yourself, your understanding that you are spirit having a human experience, you are spirit first, you are inside that field as this is your avatar. So when you want to shift those beliefs, use that paradoxical Heka that I was just explaining. So if you're feeling down and depressed about something, man, because I went through those things, even though I might be depressed right now, I still can honor, love, and completely love who I am. Okay, so I teach that inside of what I call a ritual container. You know, and I do that different ways. I use walking for that. I walk every morning and I use my ritual as a walk or my walk as a ritual. And I might say something like before I get started, I might say something like, I'm about to go on my walk and I'm setting my intention. So this is what I'm doing. I'm getting ready to direct the energy of my walk. This walk is a temple, is a room within my temple, because before then I even set up my day as a temple. Today is my temple that I honor and align myself with the universe. Okay, but this now, as I'm getting ready to go on my walk today, this walk is going to be a room in my temple. May each step ground me, may each swing of my arms balance me, and may each breath tune my field. I just set my walk to help to tune my field. Okay, a simple walk. Okay, all right. Sometimes, CJ, I'm listening to music, and I said music is actually a ritual container within itself. Because even if you think about it, your body, when you're walking, CJ, when you take, when you take a step, when you're walking, does each arm swing? Does your right arm swing out with your right leg and your left arm swing out your left leg, or is there, or is there opposition there?
I'm trying to think of the way I walk. I think it may be opposition.
Bingo! Your left arm swings when your left— when your right leg steps out, and your right arm swings when your, uh, left foot steps out. Okay, okay, that's a paradox, brother, automatically. But they're not fighting each other, are they? Nah, they have to work together in order for you to move. Yeah, that's what I mean. A paradox is this and that. You can see it all over the universe. Mm, okay. Even in your walk, even in your walk, brother. So music, you're gonna have upbeat and a downbeat. Yeah, they gotta work together in order for the music to happen. Yeah, so that in itself is a paradox.
Mm, I like that, I like that. Even in your walk is a paradigm shift, man. And then, then the walking too, you know, like you say, set your day, you know, there's my temple, you know, you got to set yourself You know, I just had a guy on here, man, just before you, and I want to ask you too, man. I'm doing something and I'm trying some new things or whatever. I'm gonna try to do a summit, a men's summit, in this summer, uh, sometime. I'm gonna try to do a men's summit, man. I'd like you to come on and share some of these tactics, man, the scientific experiences, man, with some of the brothers, man, that I'm gonna have come on, man.
You just let me know, I'm there.
All right, man, I got you.
And you got me on tape.
Yeah, yeah, I got you, I got you, and I got your phone number and your email address, man.
Right, right, right.
Don't make me come to Texas, man. I know they say they do everything big in Texas. Don't make me fly to Texas, man.
Right, right.
So let me ask you this, man. This is my last question for you, bro. What does liberation look like to you now, and how do you know you're aligned with it?
Yeah, brother, it's— liberation to me is about living life on your terms, okay? And I have a saying that says you should define your life for you by you and have the courage to live the definition. Because a lot of times we don't have that courage because we think that we have to conform to what society thinks or what society believes success should be or whatever it is. But you should define that by you. And liberation is having the freedom to live life and take it as you want it. Okay. So what that looks like to me is, CJ, is that today I go to sleep when I get tired and I wake up when I'm rested. I don't have to have anybody tell me when I gotta go punch a clock or anything like that. I live life on my terms. Now ask me if that's been easy, CJ. Uh, no, no, no, because even through that, through those experiences, what I do with Kemetaphysics has been forged through that. Because I've had my ups and downs. Brother, I've lost everything I had 3 times, okay? Everything. Started over. I went through depression. I have considered suicide. All of this stuff. So when I'm talking to you about this stuff that works, I'm not talking through theory or that it's some of this heavenly ideas or whatever. I'm talking about stuff that has had to work for me and the other people that I teach and coach. So I know it's real.
I like that, man. And I appreciate you being authentic, man, and being transparent You know, just opening up, you know what I'm saying, about your life, man. Because, you know, one thing about me, you know, part of my mission right now is the brick-by-brick mentality. And you saying you lost 3 times, you know what I'm saying, build it back up, man. That's that brick-by-brick mentality. Like, look here, I may have lost it, but hey, I'm gonna rebuild again, you know what I'm saying. It ain't nothing like the universe of God rebuilding us from the inside, you know what I'm saying.
Bingo.
You know, yeah, I made some mistakes, but you know what, I'm not gonna do this, this time, you know what I'm saying? Because they go back to what you said earlier. Sometimes you gotta look, why did I lose this? Why did I lose that? You know what I'm saying?
This is the question that I asked CJ, what is this teaching me? That's a different frame, because a lot of times what, what religion has taught us to do is to say, man, is God mad at me? Am I cursed? Am I something? And that's a whole nother way to think about this stuff. It puts you in a whole nother frame. But when you know that you are the essence of God in human form, it's not, is God cursing me? Because you wouldn't curse yourself. Mm-hmm. The idea is, is that now what is this teaching me? Because life is a reflection and you are to figure out what is reflecting back to you. What is it telling you? What's the feedback? So what is this teaching me is a question that I started asking.
Mm, I like that. What is this teaching me? It's teaching me that I got a scientist that knows a whole lot, man, about the inner self, and a man that's not ashamed to put himself out there on the line and open up, not just to help himself, because he said that these techniques that he has used have been proven, because not only have he used it for himself, now he's out here helping others, man, to reinvent themselves and come into alignment. So, Reginald, man, This conversation, man, it was powerful. You helped us see that many of our limitations aren't real, they're inherited. And when you change the internal architect, you change the entire direction of your life. For everyone listening, if you're in a season of questioning, rebuilding, or awakening, make sure you connect with my man Reginald. Catch him on, uh, Substack 3 times a week.
