A short conversational transcript of a YouTube video where stylist Janine Jarman and client Stephanie discuss using perms to improve curl consistency and manage styling issues. Stephanie explains her curls become fluffy and fall out; they plan to use a cream perm (noted as releasing winter 2023) and mention a special step to relax/straighten bangs to control cowlicks.
Hey, Stephanie. So why are you finally. How do we break you down to get a perm?
I keep trying to wear my hair curly, and then it just is really fluffy, and my curls aren't super strong, so they fall out, and I end up with straight, fluffy hair instead of, like, pretty wavy hair.
And you do perms?
Yes.
So do you lean into perms now as a way to help clients?
Yeah, definitely. I think it helps a lot with, like, texture and when people are having, like, issues with struggle or issues. Issues with styling, it helps a lot. Just make it easier for them to just wash and go more of.
A consistent curl pattern. All right, and then what? We've been doing this for a while, though. What are we special? What's a special step we do for your bangs?
I actually straighten my bangs a little bit with the perm because they. I have a lot of cowlicks, and especially, like, when I'm running or if I go hiking, they get really curly.
Oh, my God.
That's everyone. I'm crazy.
I'm sure we.
Straighten them down so that they're not so, so insane. We're going to use our.
Cream perm that comes out in winter2023, so yay. Here we go.
Okay. So what do you think? I really like it. I'm really excited.
