Can you DIY your own attic insulation? #insulation

Curt Janzen explains why DIY attic insulation usually doesn't save money. A friend took three days to finish what professionals complete in three hours, making the labor cost more than hiring someone.
Um, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm gonna be doing for dinner here. What are you doing?
I'm Curt, how can I help?
Yeah, I'm gonna be having some people over for a bit of a party. I want to smoke some meat. I was wondering if you can help me out with that.
Smoke meat, hey, I'm no pitmaster, but I've messed up enough ribs to at least say keep your smoke low and slow. What kind of meat you thinking? Maybe I can share a trick or two from my backyard experiments.
Yeah, I'm thinking like a big pork shoulder, maybe some pulled pork for the family.
Pork shoulder for pulled pork is a solid choice. Low and slow. Patience is key.
Um, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to be doing for dinner here. What are you doing?
Well, I was just wondering, can you learn anything on the internet?
You know what? I've got this crazy app. It's actually me that I can try and figure out a bunch of stuff, but I don't necessarily know I can figure out everything. Can you learn how to do your attic? Oh, well, you could probably learn how to do your attic. Could you do your attic as good as a professional? I think that might be a little bit difficult. We have one of our estimators, his name is Adam. One of his buddies tried to do his own attic, and I think he got it done eventually. Took him about 3 days to kind of finish the whole project, which would have taken us about 3 hours. So did he save money at the end of the day? I'm gonna say no, he probably didn't save any money at the end of the day. But yeah, you could probably do it yourself, but that's something you want to leave for the professionals, I would say.
