Beyond's health and safety committee includes frontline workers alongside management because top-down rules that slow people down create new hazards. The company looks for tools that let workers stay safe and productive at the same time.
So at Beyond, we have a health and safety committee, and we have many members in management and all the way down to workers. So we try to make sure that the workers really do have a say in what's going on and how they're working. It doesn't make sense for management to say, hey, you have to do this, this is how it is, wear all this, when it's going to slow you down and in some cases potentially make you unsafe because you can't move, you can't get your job done. And then you're struggling on site, getting frustrated. So we really take a lot of care in making sure that everyone has a say and really trying to find any new thing, any new tool, any new thing that's out there so we can make everyone have a good day and go home to their families.
