Curt Janzen explains why Beyond Foam's WallTite Eco is the only 2-pound foam with the government's Eco logo. It uses renewable and recycled materials instead of soy-based foams, which divert food from the food chain. A tight building envelope cuts heating emissions dramatically.

One of the benefits of using spray foam insulation is how environmentally friendly the product is. We live in a world where we don't want to be using more gas than we need. We don't want to be ruining the environment, and using spray foam is a great way of addressing that need. Beyond Foam uses a 2-pound closed-cell foam called Waltite Eco. Waltite Eco is the only 2-pound foam on the market to be given the Eco logo by the government. This is because of the amount of renewable resources that are in the product and the recycled material that they put in it. We often get asked, what is the difference between our 2-pound closed-cell product and the products that have soy material in it? The problem with these so-called soy-based products are twofold. One, they're taking food off the food chain that is very usable and edible. The other problem is, is a soybean has to be cooked to be used in their product, which is actually using energy to make something environmentally friendly. The WallTite EcoBlend doesn't do either one of these 2 things and therefore makes it the best choice for your next project. In using the spray foam insulation and creating that nice tight building envelope, you're not releasing the heat that you're trying to build up inside your house, which dramatically reduces the amount of greenhouse gases that are affected in the environment because you're keeping the heat inside your house. Beyond Foam's support program leads the Calgary spray foam industry. We assess, we educate, and we stand firmly behind our work.
