Volunteers built a house in Baja for a family with three kids, ages 4, 7, and 9. They climbed roofs in the heat, played soccer with the children, and saw homes made of tarps and scrap wood. The new house will give the family safety and a better life.

What was your favourite part about the trip? Getting up onto the roof and feeling the sun, like, hit you, because this is, like, pretty hot out. And also, like, playing with the kids as well, like, getting a soccer ball for them. Just coming down here and helping this family is, like, really, really heartwarming to see. And also just seeing how, like, poor this is. Like, houses are made out of like tarps and plastics and scrap pieces of wood.
We're building this house for this wonderful family of 3. One's 4, one's 7, and one is 9.
You're literally changing someone's life for the better. What part of their life are you changing? Run us through that.
Yeah, they're just a lot more safe, a lot more warm, probably a lot more comfortable. The big picture to me is the fact that we can impact people's lives for a very long time. What we're building behind us is like a dream house for these people. They have security, they have warmth, they have a place where they just can actually call home. When it rains, it doesn't get wet. When it's windy, they don't get cold. It's actually like the best and biggest thing they've ever dreamt to have. And in a couple of days, with a few hammers and a few people, we can come here and absolutely change their trajectory of their life.
