This is a YouTube short titled "Leadership Is About People, Not Titles #substack #shorts" (created 2025-09-18). The excerpt is a brief solo spoken reflection (monologue) by a single speaker labeled 'SPEAKER A' about leadership: how they became a student of leadership not for titles but from seeing absent or misused leadership, learning to lead oneself, holding steady in uncertainty, becoming a certified coach around 2003, and drawing on sales experience to emphasize pressure, performance, and prioritizing people over numbers.

For me, I became a student of leadership, um, not because of titles, but because I saw what happened when leadership was either absent or really, I guess, misused would be, would be the best way to put it. Um, so for me, I had to learn how to lead myself. And how do you— so I had to really ask things like, you know, how do you hold steady when things are uncertain, um, or in some, some instances in, in certain parts of my career, unhealthy, um, and that ended up shaping my approach to leadership, um, and you know, for me, a lot of that, a lot of that happened early in my career, um, I had already started coaching, so I was, became a certified coach, gosh, in like 2003. And so like I already had some of that experience and I was also working in sales organizations. And what that did was teach me about pressure and performance. And sometimes we get so lost in the numbers that we forget about the people.
