Understanding 'Squiggly Journeys' for Trans+ Awareness Week, Pt 6 of 7

My fourth major transition came in 2020 when I moved back to the UK. In many ways, it felt like coming full circle, returning to a place that once felt like home, but this time it was different. Having spent years adapting to a Canadian life, I found myself learning to fit in once again, and this time adjusting to British customs and expressions. I still sound Canadian, at least I think I do, a fact people often notice, with a few even confusing it for an American accent. But slowly, I'm beginning to speak in the British way, learning the turns and phrases and expressions unique to life here. Now, this phase has been a journey of rediscovery, a chance to reconnect with my British roots while weaving in the many layers of identity I've accumulated over the years. It reminds me that belonging isn't a single destination but an ongoing process, shaped by each place and each experience along the way.
