And Dalen, you were the 18th pick in the 2022 draft. We were talking about how you played 2 Summer Leagues here. What do you remember most about your Summer League experience?
I remember just treating it like a big pickup game with, like, fans, you know? That's how it feels right now, just watching these guys. It looks so much fun. Like, man, watching that first game versus the Bucks the other day, I wanted to get on the court. I'm sure. So yeah.
I'm sure. And if you did get on the court, it would be your first run with Matis Vasilas. What are your impressions of the rookie so far?
Hey, he's active. I knew him a little bit before he got drafted, and I always say he's active, active, really springy. I really like his versatility too, and I can tell he's a little dog. So like, I think me, him, Julian, Ayo, Coby, Pat, them guys, we play some defense and we run on the break and get some dunks.
Have you heard any of his trash talking? Because I hear that's something that, you know, he's big on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were actually having a debate on who talks more trash between me and him, and I was like, hey, he got it. He talks a lot of trash, but I like it. You know, he's got to back it up.
And I understand, happy belated birthday. You just turned 22 just on Friday. You know, still young in this league. When you look ahead to next season, what are some of the biggest goals that you have for yourself?
Honestly, I just want to show everybody what I've been working on. Obviously my strides in my jump shot, but definitely just being a player that can do a lot of things. I think I'm gonna be a really good player in this league, but I really have to prove it, you know, so just showing everything I got in my arsenal and keep adding, really.
And you know what, I heard that a lot from DeMar DeRozan. He said that he took you under his wings a little bit, but you know, obviously now he's with the Sacramento Kings. What was your reaction to that move?
Uh, you know, um, I have mixed emotions about it. You know, that's my dog and still always will be. Um, but I think that it's, it's a good thing for him and it's a good thing for us too with the Bulls, you know. Um, I think that everything that he's taught me and taught Pat and all the other guys, Kobe, I think we all It's put to test now. Like, we gotta do it now. So it's all good.
We were talking about it. It was an amazing atmosphere in the play-in for the Bulls last season. We'll see if you guys can build again next season. Thank you so much for taking the time. Thank you. Appreciate you.
