Dallas Bragg, a chemsex recovery coach, explains how gay men create separate personas for work, family, and meth use, causing exhaustion and self-distrust. When you keep lying to yourself about quitting, your subconscious stops believing you, just like a partner would after repeated infidelity. Reconnecting with your actual self is how you break the cycle.

Here's one of the main factors causing men to continue to relapse on crystal meth. Hi, my name is Dallas. I'm a chemsex recovery coach for gay men who want to break free from the addictive patterns of chemsex and live their best and highest life. One of the main reasons that I see is called persona fatigue, and that is when you have created a version of you for every aspect of your life to the point where you're so tired that you have no idea who you are at any given moment. And moreover, you don't know who you are at your core. There's a work version of you, a family version of you. There's a friend version of you, a partner version of you. And then there, of course, is the meth version of you, the grinder version of you, etc., etc. And what happens is that you've lied so much to everyone, including yourself, that your system, your subconscious, doesn't believe you when you say, "I'm not using again," or "I want to change this or that." It's like having a partner continually cheat on you. Apologize and go back out, the apology doesn't mean anything anymore, and you're not going to believe what they have to say. You're tired, and it's time to get authentic. It's time to figure out who you really are.
