Dallas Bragg, a chemsex recovery coach, says hookup apps like Grindr and Sniffies are the "front door" to chemsex. Deleting isn't enough: you need to block the app and have someone else set your password. Even the notification sound triggers the same brain pathways as a drug bag.

All right, you're probably not going to like this, but here's the hard truth. Hi, my name is Dallas. I'm a chemsex recovery coach helping men who have sex with men. Look, if you're still on the apps, you're still in the scene. If you're still on Grindr or Sniffies or RentMen or any of the other ones, you're not in recovery. You're on a break. The apps are not neutral. They are the front door to chemsex. You know this. You've opened up the app just to look. And ended up in somebody's apartment 3 hours later. The phone itself is paraphernalia, as quoted by Mel McCracken, who is a chemsex expert. That notification sound is a trigger. It lights up the same part of your brain that the baggie does. And you keep it in your pocket everywhere you go. Delete is not enough. Block the app. Have somebody else set the password. The part of you that wants to recover and the part of you that wants to use are in the same body. And one of them knows the passcode. I want you to type deleted and blocked in the comments if you're ready.
