Why do I do a mid-month check-in for my foundational health habits? Well, the first thing is I want to get a big picture view of what's happening. Whenever I'm focused on a particular habit or how I'm doing on a given day, it's really easy to lose sight of what's happening across all of the habits and over a slightly longer time frame. And it's only when you do this are you able to notice trends or see things that are happening that you would have otherwise missed. And the second thing is a little bit more tactical. Whenever I stop myself around the middle of the month to kind of see how I'm doing, I'm able to make adjustments in real time that will improve my final position at the month. And it really does work. The second half of my month is always improved by taking a look and seeing where I can improve upon myself around the middle of the month. And there you have it. There are the two reasons why I do my mid-monthly check-in: to be able to get a bigger picture view of what's happening and to also make improvements that can improve my final position at the end of the month.
