[Recast] Great Customer Service in Your Credit Repair Business is Key - Here's How Malik Greene
24 Nov 2025 · 35 min
Podcast interview (Feb 22, 2022) with Malik Greene about launching and scaling Greens Credit Repair. Malik—a 23-year-old former Chevrolet finance manager from Jackson, Michigan—quit his job and opened an office in May, grew from a one-person operation to a four-person team, and reached ~212 active clients in eight months primarily through exceptional customer service, daily social media/video posts, video client reviews, and low-cost Facebook ads. He charged $90/month per client (cited), kept hard launch costs low (~$5–6k including office setup), ran under $1,000 in ad spend initially, and reported roughly $19k/month (~$230k ARR). He emphasizes hands-on training, personal accessibility to clients, iterative learning, and plans to add automations (email/drip campaigns, new website) after one year to scale further.

Today, Malik Green is going to tell us the amazing simple strategy that grew his brand new business from zero to $230,000 in annual recurring revenue in just eight months. So stick around because this is going to be mind blowing.
So the big question is this. How can we take our passion for helping people with their credit and turn it into a successful business without taking loans, without spending a fortune by bootstrapping from nothing so we can help the most people and still become highly profitable? That is the question and this podcast will give you the answer. My name is Daniel Rosen and welcome to Credit Repair Business Secrets.
I am so excited for our guest today. In just eight months, he quit his nine to five job and he started up and grew a highly profitable credit repair business that's already in the double six figures. Again, he did this in just eight months. So if you are starting your credit repair business, this is a story you're going to want to hear. So please welcome to the podcast, Malik Green.
Well, what's going on, everybody? I'm just glad to be here. Whatever questions you guys have for me, I'm ready to open them up. I'm just super excited. It's definitely been a journey. Like I said, eight months. You know, blink of an eye went by super, super fast, I can tell you that. Doesn't seem like it's been eight months already, but here we are.
Yeah, that's because you've been working so hard. I'm so excited you're here. I knew we had to have you on the show when I read your post in the Facebook community last week. You had posted pictures of your office and your team and before we go any further, I want to read your post. Are you okay with that?
Oh, of course.
Okay, here's what Malik wrote. We have grown from a one person operation to a full team. Here are some pictures to show our growth over the last eight months. Open my business May 5th. I got this far with zero automations, zero email campaigns and zero mentors and the same website that came with my CRC system. Now I'm adding the small things to scale my business to the next level. Customer service got me this far. I currently have 212 active clients and this year I plan to double that amount. Anything is possible when you are hungry. And Malik, when I read this, I got so excited for you and instantly I ran next door and I was telling Kenan, we had to have you on the podcast because you're doing exactly what everyone should be doing. You're putting in the hard work and you're having amazing success. So congratulations.
Thank you. Thank you. It's greatly appreciated.
How does it feel?
I can tell you, like you just said, the eight months, it definitely. It wasn't easy when I say you definitely got to put your all into it. Like I said, it's nothing that came overnight whatsoever. You know, from open up the office, there's I for maybe the first three months I was in here, you know, by myself, running the entire office from 9 to 5. So, like I said. But you just never can get up, even on your worst days. And you got just, you know, continue to, you know, work, continue to reach out to people, you know, continue delivering the best customer service. And, you know, people talk, you know, that's the main thing for me. I give the best customer service. That's huge. I give the best customer service in my, you know, in my city. And I'm confident saying that because everybody talks about me, and everybody comes back and says they've heard such great things, and that's why they're here signing back up. So, you know, like I said, customer service, Customer service is just huge. All the other stuff is good, but, you know, customer service, word of mouth, you can't put a price on that.
Absolutely. Now I want to know everything. I want to dive completely into all of this. But first off, where are you from?
I'm from Jackson, Michigan.
Awesome. Is that a big town or a small town?
Small town.
Like, how small was it?
12, 13,000 people, I think.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Oh, wow. Cool. I've only been to Detroit. Is it?
Yeah, that's why I was actually born. I was born in Detroit. It's about an hour away from Detroit.
Okay. I love Detroit. I lived there for a while. Okay, so what was the 9 to 5 job that you quit?
So I was actually a finance manager at a Chevrolet franchise. I actually started there back in October of 16 as just sales. I did a really good job there. Once again, customer service does everything. I did a really good job customer service, and I started selling the most cars within the first month of being there, and I was the number one sales for three years in a row. I then became a finance manager in sales two years in. And this is where like the credit repair even, you know, came into play. When I was younger, I made mistakes with my credit, and then, you know, I'm selling cars now. You know, I could sell 15, 20 cars this month, but I was still turning away, you know, 40, 50, sometimes 60, 70 people. And then once, you know, any car dealership can relate. Once you send them out that door, worry you didn't do anything to help those people. The next dealership is not gonna do anything to help those people. And so this was just, you know, it's a need in my community. No one is doing this within a hundred miles of me. So, you know, I was like, all right, well, within two weeks I just dropped and quit my job and I took off with this. So.
Wow, that's so awesome.
Yeah.
Now how scary was that? Because I know you've got a family too.
Oh, yes, I have a family of three. But this was the by far, the one, the scariest thing I've ever done and the hardest thing I've ever done since birth. And I told people that because it's one. It humbled me, humbled me a lot. You know, as a one, I'm, you know, I'm younger so, you know, being there selling cars, you can make decent money, you know, so I had some big boys bills coming into this. But you know, when you open up a business, you truly got to give your all into it and dedicate it. I'm actually fueled by fear. And I think in this industry and as an entrepreneur, you got to be fueled by fear because, you know, it's hard to, you know, to self motivate yourself on some days because you know you're not going to sign up someone every single day. There's going to be slow days, going to be slow months. But that was really a definitely fueled by fear. And people got to accept that, you know, they got to accept that it's going to bring you to places you've never been before and you got to keep pushing through.
I understand being fueled by fear. You wrote that in your notes to us and that really struck a chord in me because I'd say I'm fueled by fear. Every morning I wake up with a big fire under my ass and it's really, really, really motivating, isn't it?
Yes. Like I said, sometimes you got to do things, you know, if I wouldn't have done it right now, probably would have still be there just selling cars, you know, Selling cars.
Cool and all.
Yeah, it's fun. But you know, I don't, I didn't want to work there forever, you know, so.
Well, sure. And. And at that point in that job, you're always making someone else rich.
Always. Yep. So this is definitely, like I said right now, you know, it's not at the beginning to get this far. It definitely wasn't easy. But you know, if you just stay Dedicated. You know, I'm going into my second year. This is where, you know, I have a team now and, and I'm actually hoping I can step away and just work on scaling the business. And you know, even throughout the eight months, I felt like I put a lot of time in because it was just a, you know, single man army for, you know, majority of it. But I still got to spend, you know, every weekend with my family. I didn't get at the car dealership. You know, I went home at five o'clock every single day. And I still spent that quality time with my family. So you couldn't put a price on that.
That's amazing. Now I'm curious when you decided to launch this business and just go headfirst into it, how did you get your first clients?
So it was actually, so I'm actually, I was really good with social media before this. So actually crazy thing that stuck with me at the expo, I believe it was Jose the Marine, what he said to me that stuck with me the most. Out of all the speakers you had, he said, you have to become the mayor of your city, I believe.
Yes.
And becoming the mayor of your city, I took out like mayor, you know, was I the mayor? Obviously, no. But in my city, you know, my community we know from selling cars, I have already was known, you know, that I give out great customer service. I was already known that I was very trustworthy. I was already knowing that I truly want, you know, to put people in better situations. So when I already transitioned from, you know, selling cars for three years to the credit repair, you know, my credentials and all that was already there. People already had the community behind me. So then I did like a sort of a pre launch letting people know that I don't work there anymore. I'm going to credit repair to change lives. And I actually had 50, I think I had 50 clients my first month just because I did that.
Was that before or after you opened the office?
I opened when I opened office from day one. Like I signed my lease, I went down, I flew down to Florida with my, already had my lease, I'm painting stuff. I was in middle of painting when I flew down to go down, down to the Expo. I came back, I wrapped up the office. I just learned everything I needed to know down there at the expo, took all the notes. May 15th is when I opened it up to the public.
So you were at Credit Repair Expo right before launching this?
Right before launching. That's it. I actually, like I said, I signed my lease on the First, And I was like, all right, I'm gonna go down to this expo, learn everything I need to learn. I'm, you know, lock down, you know, some things for the business. And then on the 15th, you know, it's gonna be trial and error, but we're opening up.
You must been writing so many notes.
Yep. I gotta go a whole notebook for.
So that's so awesome. That's exactly why we put that event on. So the event was useful for you, right?
Oh, yes. It was more. You can't put a price on that event. That if I want my whole team to come this year. So we're definitely coming. The whole team is coming.
Good, good, good. We want you there.
No, for sure.
So. So you got. From one, you got your first 50 clients very, very quickly, and now you've got 212. I looked on your site. You're charging $90 a month. So you're already making $19,000 a month, which is like almost $230,000 in annual recurring revenue. And you're still growing, and you got there in eight months. Way to go. Congratulations. How old are you?
I'm 23.
Wow. Wow. I wish I had that drive when I was 23. I was 20.
That's the main thing I tell people. All I can say is you got to be fueled by fear. When I did this, it was truly the scariest thing that I've ever done. And then once you. Once you quit that job and. And I actually had. My daughter was born April. April 10th. So you don't have to be doing all the. Quit your job for three years, open up a business with the newborn baby and bills. Like, what I. If I look back at it, what I do is really, really crazy. But like I said, I'm glad I did it 100%. But you just got to be like a fueled by fear. You got to be able to. You got to be able to, you know, control your mindset because you have to motivate yourself on those days that, you know, you're not feeling, you know, just there mentally. So that played a huge role. That played. That played a huge, huge role. And then, like I say, this goes back to customer service. You know, my customer service is everything. Everybody who even signs up. I don't even. I don't even have clients. I have friends. Everybody that signed up, I'm their friend. I'm. That's really it. Like, they come in here and they leave. You know, if I go, if I'm at the bar getting drinks and I see them There, I might buy them a drink and we have a whole hour conversation. It's, you know, it's just totally different. I don't have that, you know, client to just, you know, just personal, you know, we're friends. I want to put you in the best situation possible.
That's the way to do it. That's amazing. So that, that's really in essence the big secret to how you've grown to having 222 clients in eight months with zero automations, zero email campaigns and zero mentors. Way to go.
And that's with only. That's less than $1,000 in ad spent on Facebook.
Wow. Wow. What kind of ads are you running?
So right now I just run, I do video reviews. So I used to get a couple of my clients, they would come in, I would do a video review with them and I would throw it up on a Facebook ad. You know, I would do sometimes just, you know, 20 bucks for an entire week and see how it goes. I get a couple leads come through, you know, I call them, try and get them signed up. Yeah, I had to be, like I said, I had a good job, you know, I mean, I did a good job with the Facebook ads, but it was just, you know, word to mouth in my city. No, it's small one. So if you do a good job, a lot of people have bad credit. So, you know, there's need, there's a need out there and it's a need for, you know, everybody can use it.
Now I saw you're also making a lot of videos on Facebook and which is free, which is awesome. We do that too. What is that doing for your business?
So the videos, I do one, I mean that's what, that's what caused it all social media is everything. You gotta always, you know, we don't deliver information. I mean, all I can say is really just want to stay in front of people's faces. You know, you have to do social media. If you're not, you know, people on their phones more than they're, you know, they watch TV nowadays, they're on their phones more than they're on the radio. So if you're posting every single day, I guarantee you there's people who have seen my name pop up, you know, for 365 days in a row because I post almost every single day. You know, if you see my name every single day, if anybody says the word credit, I guarantee my name is popping up in their head. And then they refer them to me and they say, malik, so that's why I try and post a video every day or status, but you know, that's huge. It's just, you know, it's, you got to stay in this person's mindset for when they'll, you know, when that word credit, repair or if they, you know, apply for that car and they got a bad interest rate or denied, you got to be the first person that pops up in their head.
And I saw you're also doing videos with your customers.
Yeah, yep, yep. And I do that because there's. Everyone has a different scenario, you know, so everyone is gonna relate to somebody. So I do videos because, you know, I have, you know, nurses out there who, you know, are gonna relate to nurses yous know, they're related more. I got moms that are gonna relate to moms. I got dads are gonna write to dads, you know, then just people in different job fields when they see, oh, he got, you know, issues with his credit. He works there, I work there too. So that person, they're comfortable coming to you now because a friend of them came and then. I get it. That's all part of the social media thing too. When I do the video reviews, I tagged that person in the video review. Now all that person's, you know, family members and friends have just seen it. And if, obviously if this person trusts you to fix their credit, which is their entire life, you know, this, you know, the friend right here is going to trust you as well. That's just, you know, if you do a good job, it's so it's like I said, social media, you can pay for ads, but it's actually really easy to do it free as well.
Yeah. And sounds like you're doing an awful lot with the free stuff. I mean, we do as well. We're posting like crazy now. A lot of people worry you have to spend a lot of money to launch a credit repair business. What were the hard costs for you to launch your business?
So the hard cost, I can actually probably break it down. So my first initial cost I would say is I purchased the system a couple months prior to I bought your six month package. I can't remember how much that was, was like 1200 bucks or something. How much is this package?
Oh, the masterclass package seven.
Yep. So I bought that package 997 and that's what I started with. You know, then I, you know, you got training videos. I did all the research I could and, and then I instantly, once I locked it down, I was like, I could do this, you know, you have to cut. You have to have confidence in yourself. That's one. You know, as a finance manager, I was, you know, opening and closing the franchise. So if I can run a million dollar business, you know, you gotta have confidence in yourself to run a credit repair business. Like, you know, like full confidence. So you can't even question yourself at the end of the day, you gotta know that you're gonna run the business to the best of your ability every single day. So once I did that, you know, that was a 997. And then I instantly called my realtor, hey, man, I need an office. You know, so then I got the office. My office rent wasn't bad at all. You know, 850 bucks. So that was $1,600. And I didn't have much capital at the time because like I said, I am young and even though I've made decent money selling cars, I was not the best with money. So that's something else that I'm obviously growing with as well. But I think total investment in my office, when I first did it, maybe five grand, maybe five or six grand. And that's just, that's including the first month's rent and the security deposit fee that I paint it. I bought everything off of Facebook Marketplace. So. And like I said, that's, you know, to fill up a whole office. Five or six grand was not. That's not that bad, you know.
Awesome. I love that you painted everything green. It's awesome. Like your name, like money. It's perfect.
You walk in here is a happy feeling.
Yeah, no, it's great. And your branding is everywhere in your videos. It's so cool. I love it. I love it. Okay, so you're doing some paid ads. Are you planning to do any more?
Yes, that's what my goal is. That's my goal right now to do, you know, take it to the next level. I'm obviously, I want to go ahead and get a new website that generates, you know, more leads and has a lot more things on to it. I need to get an email campaign because obviously everybody's not gonna buy the first time you talk to them. So I want people to see my face every single day in an email as well. You know, I've been, I spoke with Derek Harper on the phone, and then he's educated me on a lot of things that he did to scale his business, you know, to that million dollar business. So like I said, those are all the things I'm just gonna go ahead and implement here. I'M really probably gonna do it once I've been in business an entire year. And that's just because I want to know exactly what I. What I did with, without it, you know, so then I can go ahead and start seeing, you know, once I add all this, you know, fancy stuff that people have been talking about, is it really worth the money? So that's what I'm doing. I'm go a whole year without anything, and then I'm gonna add everything. Go a whole year. And like I said, a lot of people have been, you know, succeeding with it. So I know, you know, once, you know, obviously if you spend a lot more money in Facebook ads, you can sign up a lot more people. So that's, like I said, that's how to take it to the next level. So that's what, that's what our plan is for 2020.
Awesome. Awesome. Yeah, it's going to be. It can be like putting gasoline on a fire. But I'll tell you, the. The marketing emails, the drip campaigns, that's really low cost and it ends up like having thousands of fishing lines in at the same time and they're all reeling in.
I'm just, I'm just now working on that, like, the click funnel stuff. I got a guy building me one right now. You know, opt in page emails. I, like I said, me personally, like I said, from selling the whole click funnels, opt in paid. That has nothing to do with selling cars. All this is new to me as well. And that's why I'm doing a little slower because you already, like, you know anybody. Any newbies? Listen, right now when you first come in, you're gonna take in a lot. Like, there's still a lot to learn. There's a. You're gonna question yourself because you're not an expert. You know, you can't be an expert. And I'm not an expert. I tell people right now, no, I'm not an expert. AM I educated? 100%, yes. So you're not gonna know everything you know. And it's. And that's really all I can say to it, you know, just.
Well, the interesting thing is, yeah, if you're going to be a CEO and start a business, you've got to dive in and do everything and play all the roles. But eventually it's time to hire people and then you can start offloading them. You have a team now, right?
Correct.
How big a team do you have?
So we have 1, 2, 3, 3 of us, 4 of us total, not.
Including me, are you starting to offload things onto them?
Yep. So that's actually what we actually just been putting into play finally, you know, you know, all of our customers and everybody's name. So anybody calls in, I want them to receive the best customer service. So I want whoever's on the phone to be able to hop into their account and help them out. So that's the first thing I did. Two, I've been teaching them all, you know, to do the letters and I really been teaching them all, you know, to do everything that I do. So I can't do it all. That's one thing I did learn. Trying to do it all. You're gonna burn yourself up. My response time was going down. You know, like people write you on Facebook. I used to respond to, somebody wrote me at 1:00am. I was writing back at 1:01am you know, I used to respond back at all day, every day. And then, you know, now I'm eight months in of I've talked to over a thousand people. Like right now in my critical cloud, we have over a thousand people in there. They're not all clients, but you know, those are people who are interested in our services. We did a really good job. I've taught, you know, I've reached out to all 1,000 of them, you know, and it's, you know, as, you know, you gain more people, your workload is only going to get bigger. So now you got to, you know, spread it out to other people. So I know you can keep that amazing customer service.
Well, how do you train your team to give great customer service? Tell us about that.
Um, so I train them just the way I was trained, you know, and that is something that I would tell people. That's not, I actually don't think that's something you could learn unless you were taught. So. And that is, I'm being just for me. If I was not, you know, if I did not work at grass like Chevrolet and I was not trained to run a business, if I was not trained to train employees, it definitely would be a lot more difficult. You know, you can't put a price on experience. The experience I did get at that dealership definitely did help me out a lot here because, you know, I'm comfortable. I've been running this business like I ran that multi million dollar business as day one. And you know, that's my goal is to turn this into a million dollar, million dollar business. So I'm training them the same way.
I think you're going to be there very soon.
I'm hoping so. Like I said, we'll keep putting in the work and it'll come.
I think we're going to have you on stage soon. Getting you, definitely.
When I left, when I left your expo, that's my goal.
That's so cool. So I know you're going to get there. When I met you at the Expo, I had such a great feeling about you. I'm just so excited for how well you're doing. You're so inspiring.
Thank you. Thank you.
Now, I want to know about your credit repair services because you're getting amazing results. How do you get 85% of your clients receiving results in less than 45 days?
So to be 100% honest with you, and this, like I said, when I was new, I was in that credit repair cloud, reading every post like, oh, my God, do these letters work? What's going on? Use the letters. That's it. I do round. You know, I have an entire system here. This is how we're doing the round one, round two, round three, round four, round five, round six. And it's with your letters, you know, and they work 100% the letters work. And people out there, you know, who talk about they have to outsource. Do I do. I think outsourcing is an option? I think it is, yes. But only when you get a lot of clients you want to, you know, because to do all the letters and, you know, mail and send it out, you know, you could possibly try and outweigh some of the costs because, you know, they pay for that type of stuff. But these letters 100% work. If someone says they don't work, they're lying. I get everybody results with your letters from the CRM system. I mean, is it that simple?
Yeah. So many people just say, oh, I can't use templated letters. Or you have to have this magic letter, or somebody waves their magic letter and everybody's wanting to buy it and the software fills in the part, so it makes it unique right then and there.
Yeah.
I'm so glad it's working for you. Speaking of all that online stuff, I want to dispel a myth here. We have Credit Repair in our business name. It's Credit Repair Cloud. You have Credit Repair in your business name? Greens Credit Repair.
Yes, sir.
There's so many people. I want to say this for the people in our community because they're always worried you can't have Credit Repair in your business name. Has that caused any issue for you having Credit Repair?
Greens Credit Repair brought me exactly what the Name was people with who needed Credit Repair. I mean I've never once know in my city, like when I launched it, it was like I just discovered fire. People have never heard of Credit Repair. Once you get past that, it's just a name. I mean that's the name of my business, Green's Credit Repair. We have other services, but that's the name. But Credit Repair is not caused me anything whatsoever with nothing. I love the name, you know.
Me too. It's super clear when we name Credit Repair cloud, it's exactly what it is. And then there's no confusion. Not at all. You guys out there, if you're thinking you have to hide what you do, don't do that because you're also hiding from customers who want to hire you.
Yeah. And I can just give you example off of that just to let you know how important it is. So it's tax season. We did tax prep to our services. We put some signs up around for taxes and just our name is Greens Credit Repair. And, and we've signed up multiple people off of our tax prep signs just because of our name. That's another example. Like you know when people call in a I seen a sign for Green's Credit Repair and now we got Credit Repair lead just because of our name.
So are you getting tax clients from the credit repair?
Yep.
And you're getting credit repair clients from the tax service?
Yes sir.
So you're making double revenue from the same client?
Yep.
You're a genius. That's so awesome.
Yup. No, and like I said, like I said, when you had to be fueled by fear and this is all honesty. Less than was it third? I think it was like 30, 30 to 45 days ago is when I just, I was like, you know what? Taxes are coming around. I did some research being we added taxes and like in this system, like I said, you don't have to be an expert, you just have to do it. You know you're gonna learn by trial and error. Nobody's perfect. If you try to be perfect, you shouldn't even open a business. I believe.
Unbelievable. And I'm still getting over getting to 222 clients in eight months. Just amazing. What's your big goal for Greens Credit Repair?
My big goal one is just like I said when I was younger, I made mistakes with my credit. Once I got my credit fixed, it changed my life. My goal is because like I said when I work with people, when I sell them a car, when I do credit repair, I truly care about those People like that, it's more than just the sales, more than just the money. My entire goal with Green Credit Bureau is just still give the people the opportunity that I receive.
That's awesome. A lot of people get overwhelmed and start to dislike their customers. And I was there for a while when I was doing everything and it was so overwhelming. I was Tammy on support, I was Phil on sales. I mean now we have all team but in the beginning you do everything yourself and it just once I started offloading, offload everything, I started to love the customers and the more I started to love our customers, the bigger we started to grow. So I really think that's super cool. I mean, do you think that makes a big difference for you?
Oh, that's huge. I agree with you 100% and that's the main thing I'm doing and that's why I, you know, I added more people to the team and that's why I gave everybody responsibilities because you cannot do everything alone. Like I said, I'm a hard worker, I'm self driven, I'm truly, I'm confident in myself. I'm the most motivated 23 year old in the world and, and that's because, you know, nobody can tell you that. You have to tell yourself that every day. You have to motivate yourself and that's how it has to be. But you're going to come to a point where you're going to get burnt out and you truly can't do everything. You're going to get, you know, people are going to come to you like, hey, I want to sign up for credit repair. And you got, you know, you're just re response time, your energy, everything could be off because you're just too overloaded and once you start passing the load to somebody else now you can actually breathe and you can actually be yourself again and be human. We're still human at the end of the day. So.
Wow. I can't believe the growth you've had inside and out through this process. I want everybody to hear your story. Will you come and speak at Credit Repair Expo? Will you get on stage and tell this story?
I would love to, I would definitely love to come speak on the stage. I would definitely love to.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Well then let's make that happen. And those of you out there listening, it's May 1, 2 and 3 in Dallas. It's going to be a huge party, biggest event in the credit repair industry. Oh, I'm so excited to be there now.
I'm super excited.
And then the following year, Millionaires Club award.
Oh, yeah, for sure. That's. That's truly my goal. I've told everybody from 2019, January 1, 2020, I told myself about making a million dollars before this day.
I know you're going to do it. I know. I think once you start the drip campaigns, I think that's going to do it. That and remarketing. But the drip campaigns, and that's really low cost. And then just thousand fishing lines all.
And that's actually the first thing I'm doing. I'm going to implement everything I need to implement that everybody says that took their business to the next level. And like I said, as long as you give customer service, there's. Like I said, it will happen. You know, be prepared to succeed and you'll succeed. If you don't, you'll fail.
Awesome.
It really went hand in hand for me. Like, you know, for the, for the dealership, to the credit repair. It. It was really, I'm not saying it was a smooth transition, but it was. You know, at credit repair, you know, for someone to buy a car, they got to give you your social, the name. You actually give you more information. They got to know what they make, all that type of stuff. You know, your system is so easy. All it needs last for their social. So, you know, the transition was so easy. And then, you know, once you do the video reviews, all they just came hand in hand.
Super cool. But I really think you've done it right by not getting into all that advanced stuff because that, that's. You can get lost in all of those.
That's. And I did, and I did get lost about, I would say about six, seven months ago. So I scaled my business. So when I first got those first 50 clients, I gave them at a discounted price. So then obviously I know once my server people got the reviews, now my name's out there. So now I'm obviously raising my prices to what I wanted to set them at. So then I got there. Now I think this was back in like June or July. We were doing 10, 11, maybe 12 grand a month. I finally, you know, just got some extra cash and I started looking into these things. Like, what is everybody talking about? Because obviously I want to make, you know, 20, 30, 40, $50,000 a month. And I started looking into them. That's when I started into the email campaigns and all that stuff. And one, unless you have an established business, I mean, this stuff isn't cheap, you know, like, you know, some of this stuff was, you know, added up to 3, 4, $500 a month to implement it to your service. And those are huge commitments because in my system, I mean, we're still working with people with credit, with bad credit. So, you know, payments come through, Payments don't come through. You know, me, I'm just, you know, first year in, I didn't want to add in, you know, a $500 commitment here and another, you know, big 1200 investment here in a website, you know, things like that. And it was just, you know, your website worked. People can come to it. They can submit their info, their card info. What else do I need? You know?
Exactly. And customer service works.
Yep.
So those of you guys out there listening, you don't need all that stuff yet. Build your business, build the foundation, just like Malik is. Yeah. Super, super, super cool. But. And it's good that you're learning all the different parts because. And then, you know what, how they all work. I mean, some people jump in and they hire people to do all those things they don't know how to do, and then they get taken advantage of.
Yep. And then I can say, I just had a brain for Andre. That's right.
Yes.
So I spoke with him at the Expo back in May, and the first thing he said was, and I was telling him that it was gonna be one man army, he actually told me, like, how are you gonna hire someone if you don't know their job? And I was like, I guess you're right. You know, so when I came back, you know, I did. I did everybody's job. I did the receptionist's job. I did, you know, what my credit specialist job was gonna be. I just truly did everything. I was like, and now you know what to expect of that person. You know, I know. I know how long this person's conversation should take. If you were on the phone longer, I knew you either had somebody who was just a talking to person or. Or, you know, the conversation was weird. You know, there's so many things, you know, about doing it all yourself. Like, it's just. It's going to benefit you in the long run. I guess you could say, wow.
Super, super cool. Hey, now, we know you give great customer service, but specifically, what is that process?
So, like, the entire process of a new client.
Yeah, walk us through.
You know, then I go over their credit audit with them. I let them know how many negative items they have, you know, their score, you know, I take a look at their balances. I let them know what they can do on their end, you know, to speed up this process and, you know, to really just benefit themselves even more. After the credit audit, you know, I sent out the letters. I let them know the exact day the round is finished. On we go over the dispute results, start another round, do it again.
So you're communicating with them ongoing throughout.
Oh, yeah. The entire time? Yep, yep. And then I always tell them, like I said, everybody I work with is with my personal cell phone. And like I said, this can be, this is a little difficult. I wouldn't even recommend everybody to do it because I'm probably going to get a second ph. But everybody, I tell them, this is my personal cell phone. I just shot you this text message off. If you have any questions, I don't care if it's at 1am Shoot me a message, shoot me a text. You know, you can give me a call. You know, I'm glad I'm, I'm here to help you. You know, if you're paying me. I think people deserve your undivided attention, even if you're home.
I think that's brilliant because you have to do whatever you can at the start of a new business to build trust, and that really builds trust. I think that's brilliant. How many touch points do you have each month to your customers?
To be honest with you, that's totally up to them. Once I get off the phone with them and I tell them your, you know, your letters have been mailed out and this is the day it's finished, I say, you know, this is the day it's finished. This day I'm going to contact you. Unless they call me for anything, I talk to them. That's it. There's nothing else to talk about, to be honest.
And do you find yourself helping these clients as well with organizing their finances or any. That kind of stuff?
So it depends. So you're going to get different clients so that, you know, it's, that's, that's, that's hard to actually help every last one of them on because, you know, I have younger clients and, you know, there's some young people out here in this world that truly need to be educated on credit and finances. And I truly, as a young person, I didn't know anything. They don't teach you any of this in high school? My parents didn't teach it to me, so I know their parents didn't teach it to them. So I do educate these, I educate everybody as much as I can on credit. You know, we offer secure credit cards, we offer loans. So, you know, whatever. After the credit Audit, that's what I'm going to go ahead and throw all that in what I recommend, what you need to do. But you know, I just want. I tell people what they need to do to put theirselves in a better situation because I'm already going to do everything I can on my end.
Wow, you are such an inspiration. I want to rearrange the order of all the podcasts we're going to release because I want everyone to see this one first. Now.
Appreciate that.
I appreciate you. Where would you like to be in a year and in five years?
To be honest with you, my goals are so big right now. Right now I'm still, I'm. When I'm young, so I'm still finding myself. But I can just say I couldn't even really tell you because I don't, I right now I do small goals. I have a year goal and my year goal is to make a million dollars. And if I know I'm gonna make a million dollars, I could do a lot in five years. So that's really my goal is. My goal is just keep delivering customer service and you know, just grow this business because what I'm doing, nobody in my family has even done, nobody in my city, as you know, at the age of 23 has even done. So what I'm doing right now is I need to get my name out there more social media wise. And like you guys said, you know, that's it. I just need to kill social media, you know, grow my business scale to the next level and then I truly think everything else falls right into place.
So you mentioned in your notes to us that you're hungry. How do you stay hungry? How do you keep your focus? What do you focus on?
Like I said, you guys, you have to be self motivated and you have to be fueled by fear and then you have to love money and you know, to be honest on, you truly have to like money. Like what we do. We're changing lives, but in the day we're here to make money. And I'm just a firm believer that the system is already broke. You know, they tell you to go to school and somebody can get 80, $90,000 in student loans before they, I can even get them approved for 10,000, our car loan. So there's just so many things that come into play. But you know, as being 23 years old, you know, I'm a young man, I got, you know, two beautiful daughters. I just want to give them the best life that I possible. That's really it. Whatever they want, you know, that's. You know, that's my job to provide, so.
Sounds like you're well on your way. Malik, I want to thank you so much for being here. I'm so excited for you. Thank you for your time. I look forward to seeing you on stage at Credit Repair Expo.
I can't wait for. I'm super excited. I just want to say thanks for having me on the podcast. Thanks for inviting me to, you know, speak on the stage. Thanks for the Credit Repair shirts. Like I said, I'll give you guys a group, you know, team photo next week. And like I said, just. Well, I just want to thank you for coming out with this software because it's truly changed my life. Like, this software is not just, yes, it helped me open up a business, but it's truly like this. The software changed my life. Without this software, I wouldn't have opened up the business, you know, and it's you. I just want to say thank you for doing such a good job, because all I did was go to Google and I found it, you know, so I can just. Everything goes hand in hand. Like. Like I said, the small things that people do outside of work, you know, you have to think, think outside the box. And it landed me here one day. I was just tired of working at Grass Lake. I was tired of waking up, I mean, making everybody else the big bucks. And I want to make the big bucks. So I knew that, you know, if I try and open a business right now, I'll bite the bullet for a year. But after that year, you know, everything is limitless. You can make as much money as you want to make.
You know, if you're hungry, absolutely. And now it's changed your life, and now you're changing thousands of other lives onward. It's just amazing, you guys out there. I hope this gives you inspiration to get off your butts just like Malik did and grow your credit repair business just like he did. You are so amazing. Thank you again for being here and you guys out there, thanks for listening and we will see you on the next podcast and keep changing lives.
