Two people explore Maya Angelou's idea that belonging nowhere means belonging everywhere. They argue non-attachment to fixed identities frees you to connect with many groups and move through life without clinging to what holds you back.
Here's the quote. It says you are only free when you realize you belong to no place and you belong to every place, no place at all. The price is high, the reward is great. So tell us what that really means, like put it in any words so that we can understand where you're coming from and how it applies here.
Belong to no place and every place. For me it meant I'm gonna belong to nothing. I'm not gonna have any attachments to anything around me because if I'm not attached then it can ebb and flow and I can move through those experience, experiences of life without feeling negative about anything that I experienced. And then if I belong to every place, then it means that every group, every team that I ever interact with, I have a piece of that experience in my life. And that means that we're all one and we can all be connected and therefore we can all grow.
