Hey, everybody. Flip and Danny here, founders of the Freedom Real Estate Group, family of companies. And welcome to another episode of our.
Podcast, which is called Freedom through Passive Income.
That's right. And welcome to another episode. And this episode is entitled Failure is Not.
This is one of our motivational Mondays.
Yes.
Yeah.
Oh, sorry, I didn't mention that. Welcome to another motivational Monday.
I put the motivational Monday at the top instead of the actual notes. Yeah, yeah, my bad. Well, we're excited about today's episode because we have been coordinating towards the end of the year and all the things that we're kind of thinking about and happened upon a quote that I'll let you read.
Right. So success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. By Sir Winston Churchill. I believe he's a sir.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the other thing that came up when we were talking about this quote, because it's something that we've talked about many times in the past on our podcast, about the fact that you can't let failure stop you. You can't let fear stop you. The hardest part to overcome is the very first step. Going off, jumping off the diving board for the very time. Right.
We can count how many episodes we recorded on this.
Yeah, yeah. So there's so many examples that we've shared with you throughout the year about this topic. I thought it would be just something that we could just hit on again and kind of just touch on the points that we're thinking about right now at this stage of our lives. And one of the things that I saw was this line. People who avoid failure also avoid success. So I think that that's really, really powerful to think that, hey, if I'm so afraid of failing, I'm never actually gonna get anywhere because I'll never take the chances that I need to take. I'll never take the steps that I need to take in order to actually succeed. Right. So I think there's something to that, that we all need to understand that failure is a part of the game. And it is a game, right? Business, money, life. It's all a game. And if you're not treating that way, you're probably not having as much fun with it as you could be. And that's something that we've really. I didn't treat it as a game before, and the more I treat it as a game, the more fun I'm having and the better I do because I'm just excited about it, because I'm just like, ooh, let's try this. And I wrote in here something that Aaron says a lot. He says, we're going to try and experiment. And it's like he kind of says, I'm in the lab and I'm going to just try this. I don't know if it's going to work. I don't know if it's going to explode, but we're going to try it. And he talks a lot about making those experience small sometimes so that the risk isn't very big. You're just going to try something that if it does fail, that's fine. That's part of the path of building a business and of getting to the point where you can be successful. But if you do them in small ways, then nothing is so catastrophic that you feel like such a failure you want to quit. They're just small, little. Well, that was fun. And the fact that he uses the word experiment, I think is a powerful word because you go into it knowing, I have no idea if this is.
Going to work or not.
It's an experiment, and we're going to figure out if it does. If it does great. If it doesn't, you know, no big deal.
I think a lot of the topics that we've done over this whole year can always be turned Back to the 56 unit.
Yes.
Yeah. And that was. We didn't even think about success or failure. We had those other properties that we wanted, so we were just doing that just to get those. We didn't care about success or failure with that property. We were going to do it. We were going to do it right. And we weren't even thinking about, oh, this is going to be so awesome. We were just like, oh, we need these in the deals.
That's right. And that's something that through the end of the year, we're going to be talking about the power of words. And that's something that has really changed throughout this year for us, too, that it will be interesting to me if I ever look back on these episodes, the type of words that I used towards the beginning of this year and the words that I'm using now and the difference that it's making in life, because I'm being very intentional about what words I use and how I think and how I feel the emotions and what I'm doing. I think that's all part of it. All of this is part of the big ball that equals success is these little mini lessons that you learn throughout life. And hopefully we've been able to share with you guys on our journey and hopefully it's been impactful. So this is just another one of them. Is that again, don't be afraid to fail.
That's right.
It's part of the journey. You're going to fail. Who cares? It's a game. And if you're playing Monopoly, sometimes it sucks, right? Sometimes you don't hit the boardwalk, Sometimes you can't afford the hotel. Sometimes you have to pay hefty rent to somebody else who got there first. Do you consider that a failure or is it a game to you? And you're like, you know, switch your mindset. So you view it as a game.
That's right.
And you look at these small things that you do to take risks as experiments, then it becomes more fun.
I don't think in all the times I played Monopoly, I never got Boardwalk and Park Place at the same time. Yeah, never, never. I always get Marvin Garden. So we hope you enjoyed this episode.
