Ep 53 - 3 Critical Steps You Should Take Before Investing In Your First Real Estate Syndication

Flip and Danny from Freedom Real Estate Group outline three steps before your first syndication investment: learn by asking questions, vet sponsors thoroughly, and start small while building confidence. They emphasize building real relationships with sponsors, especially for 506B offerings.
Hey, everybody. Flip and Danny here, founders of the Freedom Real Estate Group family of companies. And welcome to another episode of our.
Podcast called Freedom through Passive Income.
That's right. And today's episode. Now, though, hold on, this is a doozy. Three critical steps you should take before investing in your first real estate syndication. Hey, John, that's a mouthful.
Thank you. I was working on that yesterday.
Thank you very much. So again, this is things that you should know and should do before dipping your toe in the water. So number one, gaining knowledge. Get out there. There are no dumb questions. And like Homer Simpson told Bart, Bart, there are no dumb questions. Just dumb people. Just kidding.
I promise he didn't call you dumb.
I love me some Simpsons, but there are no dumb questions. Ask every question possible. That's what we did, you know, so, you know, go on. That's a dumb question. No, it's not. And it's probably going to lead to five or six other questions. So don't be afraid to ask anything. Ask everything.
Yes. And don't feel like you're alone because even Flip and I will feel like something is a dumb question.
I still ask questions every day.
Yes, and we'll think it's dumb, but we're asking it because most of the time when you ask something, somebody else is thinking the same thing, but they're afraid to ask. So always ask. And in our Facebook group, we've got, you know, a section for this, right? So we're going to be uploading videos and really kind of saying, hey, here's your money topics, here's your taxes topics, things like that.
All right, everybody, if you're watching on LinkedIn or Facebook or YouTube, this is your chance right now. And you see the like button right here and you see the heart button right there. This is your chance in the video to smash these buttons. Make sure you hit that heart button. Make sure you hit that like button if you like what you're seeing and if you, if you enjoy what you're watching. But this is your chance right now at.
Ok. And just remember, this is how we show social media algorithms that you like what we're sharing. So for adding any kind of value over this 365 day series, we hope you'll help us out by sharing the love.
Yeah. So again.
Okay, so you talked about the first critical step. I'm gonna talk about the second one. Second one is doing due diligence on whoever it is that you're working with. We talk about this a lot. We tell everybody to vet us because we Tell you to vet everybody.
Don't trust anyone.
That's right. So get on the phone with us, ask us the hard questions, ask us our experience, ask us how many deals that we've done, Ask us how they perform. Ask us anything that you want. Ask us about our partners. It does not matter. You should be doing that to every single person that you work with. The number one most important thing is you just start that relationship right by getting on the phone, joining the investor club, jumping in our social media groups to get to know us, getting on a strategy call. So all of those things will. Especially if it's going to be like an opportunity. That is a 506B, which stands for Buddy.
Buddy.
It stands for buddy for us because it helps us remember we have to have a substantive relationship with you before we can even show you the opportunity. So you're not going to see deals from us if it's a 506B, if we didn't talk in the first place. And when I say we didn't talk, talk to our team, because our team is handling all of those calls. And if you talk to them, it's an extension of us. So that's all that matters.
That's right. Number three, balance fear with confidence. Now, this is very important. If you need to start small, start small. Start whatever, the smallest you can start with. Don't just go in gangbusters and say, here's the house, you know? So make sure that you have the confidence in what you're doing. What you don't want to do is. Is the next day going, oh, did I do something I shouldn't have done? So make sure that you understand what you're doing. The first two steps honestly will give you the confidence to do this, but don't ever do more than what you are comfortable in doing. So make sure that you balance the two out.
Yes. And then the last one isn't a step. So we've already covered the three critical steps. The last one is a fireworks that I put in our notes and I went. So after you've invested in your very first real estate syndication, I want you to celebrate and be proud of yourself because you started something new. It's got the potential for changing you and your family's life one step at a time. It's how we did many things one step at a time. It's how we got to where we are today, where we've achieved the passive income and now we're just working to grow more.
That's great. So again, we hope that you enjoy these episodes. If you're watching on Facebook, make sure you're part of the Facebook group. Get in there, talk to the guys, talk to the gang. There's guys and ladies. So again, if you have any questions, make sure you talk to them. This is your chance to again to ask those questions and to get the confidence not only in us, but in what we're doing. So again, that's facebook.com groups freedom through passive income. That's right. And we're also on LinkedIn, which just go to the search bar and type.
In freedom through passive income.
There you go. We're also on Instagramers and the tiktokers and youtubers. And if you're on YouTube, you're watching on YouTube. Just hit the subscribe button and join our gang. I like that.
Join our gang.
I like that. I like it better. I hate followers. But again, and if you're listening again, we hope that you had a great workout or you had a great run or you're driving safely. But again, if you have the opportunity right now, make sure you hit the heart button and hit the like button. Let us know how we're doing. Tell us. Fill in the comments. Tell us how we're doing. If you have any questions, let us know what those are. But again, we always like to end with invest smart, live happy. Bye, everybody.
