Hi, guys. Welcome back to another Freedom vlog. We are on vlog 46. We are almost to 50. That is crazy to think about. And you're probably wondering why we are dressed up. This is our Halloween edition vlog as Halloween is this Sunday and we both love Halloween. So in honor of it, we are dressed up for you guys. And partially for us too.
Definitely for us.
And if you don't know, obviously Mario and Luigi. But more so Tiffany Biddle, she is our transaction coordinator. She has actually been with us from the start of frag. I just kind of answered one of your questions, but before I get started to enter your questions, do you want to have any kind of introduction to yourself? Say anything before we get started?
Nope, I'm good. You just introduced me. Perfect. Gave it all.
I was going to say you guys have probably seen her in a few other podcast and or vlogs. So now we are finally formally introducing her. That is well past due. So I talked about. You have been with us from the beginning. So when exactly was that?
So I actually, I've known Danny and Flip for a while. When they started this company, I reached out and said, hey, I want to work for you. My interview is very much that. Sitting down in the conference room and saying, okay, I want to start this time and I want. I want to do this work and I want to. Okay, when can you start? Great, great. You're done. You're hired. Easiest interview I've ever done, by the way. I started in 2018. April 2018. So I've been here for three and a half years.
That is amazing. Well, that answered both of my questions on when and how, which leads into the next question is, have you always wanted to work in real estate?
Absolutely not. No. I would not have pictured this, but I am the person who did not know what they wanted to do with their life. So I think I changed my major four times. It was never real estate. Yeah. So, yeah, I have a criminology degree. I don't know how I was going to use that, but that's. It interested me and that's what I'm doing. You know what I loved, but yeah, real estate, I love it. Now, looking back, I wouldn't do anything different.
So, yeah, I think I changed my major four or five times as well. Started in business, and then I switched to healthcare administration, which is still business, just not as vague. And then I wanted to be a teacher, and then I went back to business. And I'm so glad I did because I'm now here and I Love my job and I love everyone I work.
With, so wouldn't change it.
So we already talked about your role, which is transaction coordinator. So what exactly is that? What do you do?
A lot. So I, you know, I'm involved in the process. When we buy a deal, when we are working with private money lenders to, you know, get our deals funded, I send them off to title. I make sure title issues are good or there are none. We don't even want good title issues. We want none. So I, you know, I make sure there are none and that everything is good there. I actually sign the closing docs. I review them, I sign them. I do a lot at the front end and then I kind of oversee some stuff in between. And then I really jump in in the back end when we are selling a property. So I talk with our lenders, title our investors, and just kind of get everything to closing for them. And sometimes beyond sometimes I still, you know, jump back in after that as well.
So, yeah, that is one of the perks of our family of companies, which we've mentioned in other episodes, is when an investor has a question or anything, a client. We are all in the same building. So I know you've mentioned having to talk to Chris about a couple of things. Which is our property manager for Independence Property Management. His office is literally right down the hall. So it makes communication very easy. And fortunate. Can't find the word I was looking for.
That works. Yes.
All right. Changing things up a little bit. What is your favorite pastime?
Oh, man, I. Not so long ago, I would have said running, but I am now an injured runner, so. Thinking about running, but reading. I am obsessed with reading. I read mainly fiction and true crime. Those are my genres that I like to read. Makes sense. I have a goal of 100 books a year, so I think I'm on 78 right now. Getting close to the end of the year. Let's hope that I can read another 22 books, but. But that's my big thing. That is awesome.
I think I'm at three books for the year. I need to step it up a little bit. Now, we've talked about your degree being in crime, criminal justice, and you're obviously into the crime books. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Oh, man, I did not read that question. So superpower. I think if I could have a superpower, it would be to know when someone is lying or not telling the truth. I think that could be very useful in everyday life as well as solving crimes.
Yeah.
Which I would love to do. Absolutely.
Yeah. I. Mine would be to read people's minds, which I think kind of ties into that.
Like, I want to read your mind, but I want this, like, red glaze over it. If you're lying to me, I can see that you're lying.
Like, picturing that in my head like in a movie.
It's like a little extra layer, you know?
You really thought about this?
Absolutely.
All right. If you. How do you handle stress on a daily basis?
I am often stressed, so the biggest way for me to get out of that is to go outside. Just getting outside in the fresh air, just sitting out in my backyard. If I'm working from home, if I'm here, you know, I'll go outside a little bit. But if I'm working from home and I get stressed out, I'm outside, I'm going for a walk or just sitting or anything. Change of scenery, I guess.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. On the days I do get to work from home, I love working out outside, especially because I have a dog who could be outside all day long if we let her, and so we'll just go outside and sit on my back patio and she'll just lay down. Mind your own business and sunbathe and it's a change of scenery and it's nice every once in a while to do.
Absolutely.
All right, well, that is all that I have. Do you have any last words you want to share?
I don't know.
