A personal monologue (2024) by Danielle Robison recounting losing home and finances in the 2007 crash, filing bankruptcy, and how that hardship became a turning point that led to changed investment strategies and greater personal freedom and success.
In 2007, when that crash happened, we lost everything. So our home was in foreclosure. We had a bunch of wraps. So we were playing bank. People walked away from those. They were 3, 400,000. We tried and tried and tried to keep up on that, just like everybody else did, but we had no choice but to file bankruptcy. And we look back on that now as a blessing, because it actually allowed us to have a lesson to turn around. And now we invest differently. So it actually helped us. And we're better off now than we would have ever been if we had kept doing what we were doing. So don't let the things that attack you in life. Everybody has issues. We had issues. We went through it, we struggled, and we flourished. And now we have the freedom to do what we love, because we stuck with it, and we didn't give up.
