I Let Go of These 4 Lies and My Business BOOMED

Danielle Robison and guests debunk four beliefs holding entrepreneurs back: that productivity drives success, you must work alone, competition matters, and suffering fuels growth. They argue for sustainable practices, building teams, staying in your own lane, and using flow as a guide instead.
What are the lies that restrict entrepreneurs.
From creating freedom for themselves?
Well, I'll share a couple of the different lies, and then as people listen to this, I'm sure they're gonna be, like, raising their hair, like, oh, that lie, that lie, that lie. If you are living in all of these lies, that's very normal. That's what I found from going back through all my records and reports of all the systems and processes and sessions I've run over the last 15 years. So don't beat yourself up if you're living in these lies. Just remember, there are truths counteract the lies that help you live a more magnificent life. So if you want, you can always ask me that question after and I'll give some of that info too. So four lies. First lie is almost always that productivity is essential for success. Problem with that, most people think, well, I have to be super productive in order to be successful. Most times, productivity becomes workaholism, become a workaholic. Because you think that everything has to be productive, right? I can't just sit and read a book. I have to sit and read a business book that I can then apply and implement in my business, right? I can't just sit and learn something new. I have to sit and learn something specific to my business, right? And I have to be in an educational course to constantly be learning, right? When we place ourselves in that lie, we end up filling all of our time with activities that isolate us from our team. Actually, which is really interesting. That lie basically violates the fundamental truth of success.
Success.
And the fundamental truth of success is success is not a goal or an objective that you're going after. It's actually an emotional feeling. And if you are willing to look at success and redefine it and think, okay, success is an emotional feeling. I can feel any moment that I want as long as I create an optimized daily experience that I can then sustain. So you're really looking to use this new definition of success so that you don't violate that product, or so that you can violate the productivity lie and be done with it. So what I encourage all entrepreneurs to do is I'm like, well, look at your day. Figure out what would my ideal day and my ideal week look like? How would I create a daily optimized experience that I then sustain over time? Because that is what gives you freedom. So that's that first lie. Do you want me to go into a.
That was just one check.
So the second. The second lie is all about we feel like we have to Carry the weight or the burden of everything on our own shoulders, right? Instead of being willing to be like, okay, I can delegate this to the team, or I can, you know, I can hand this off to somebody else. Almost always we're feeling like we have to hold the weight of the business on our own shoulders. But if you do that, if you hold the weight of the business on your own shoulders, then your brain believes it can never stop running. So you're always looking for patterns, always looking for solutions, always putting out fires. And the brain gets into a pattern of constantly putting out fires and feeling valuable when it puts out those fires. Only to be successful in business, we can't be putting out fires all the time. Otherwise, we have no time to grow the business. So when you live in that lie, typically, it violates the fundamental truth that if I decide to go after team, right? Because everything in life is a team, if you decide to go after teaming, then all of a sudden 100% of your success in life is based on how you team. And if everything is a team, then you're never alone. You never have to shoulder the burden on your own. It actually creates the ability to expand your network quite significantly. And that's what, as entrepreneurs, we all should be going after. Not holding the burden of everything on ourselves, because then we can't give our team purpose.
That's right. That's right. I love it. I am eager for number three and four. I just can't help it.
So far, I'm batting a thousand, so keep going. Yep.
Third one. Competition or comparison is essential for success, right? So if you notice all the entrepreneurs out there, even when they get started and usually through most of their careers, they're always comparing themselves to other people in the space, and they're like, oh, my gosh, I'm doing this with my company. But look at what they're doing with their company. If I could only do this faster, quicker, better be more like them. But when you do that, when you compare yourself to other people in the space, you're devaluing your own entrepreneurial journey. Every single person in this world has their own entrepreneurial journey that you cannot fast track. You are on your journey because you're here to learn something very specific about your calling, your gifts, your talents. So when you get in comparison, you're literally taking away the joy from your own entrepreneurial learning. So that's a big lie. Well, the truth that's important when you're in that comparison is, I'm not gonna compare myself to anyone anymore. I'M just gonna sit in my own journey. I'm gonna know that I'm doing the right thing at the right time. I'm exactly where I need to be, and I'm not gonna compare based on anybody else and what they're doing. I will learn from other people and. But I still have to customize whatever I learn to my business. That's where a lot of entrepreneurs fall short because they're like, oh, I'm going to buy a system or I'm going to hire somebody. That person is going to revolutionize my business. When you hire someone, you have to develop them to understand your business. When you buy a product or a package, you have to customize that product or package to work within your business. So that's where you know that lie can set you up for some issues if you don't look at it through that different lens. So that's number three.
I think we're done with all life for the day. I'm so tired here.
I know, right? Come on.
Okay. Okay. Four for four. Let's go. Let's do it.
So then the other lie that I think, and I don't know if this one hits you guys as hard, but the one that really hit me was using suffering or grinding as your fuel. Because for many of us, we see entrepreneurship and we believe the harder we work, the more we grind, the more we get after it. The more hours we work where other people aren't working those hours, the more we'll get closer to success and we'll be able to fast track things. Right now, when we believe that we have to grind to get to success, it basically removes us from this concept that we can feel fulfilled as we go after success. We can have these emotionally connecting moments that are more important actually than the grind at getting us where we want to be. Because remember how I told you guys at the beginning, the emotion is what really drives us and moves us forward. But if we don't have connection to that emotional state and that emotional feeling and all we're doing is going after the suffering as the fuel, we're actually not going to get where we need to go. And here's a little bit of a caveat that I think is really cool. When you look at your life, if you have any area of your life where you're suffering, it actually means that the team you are on in that area needs the most support. And if you're suffering, it means that there is a lie in your subconscious that does not serve you anymore, that you have to identify.
Wow.
Because when you're in suffering, it indicates there's a lie that's running you if you're in truth. Usually it feels like it's easy. You're in flow, everything feels lighter. So suffering actually gives you an indicator of where you need to shift, change, pivot, or grow to become the best version of yourself.
Oh, that's powerful. And I would say we do relate to number four as well.
Whatever.
That's actually why, like, we met Annie, because we had hit. We had just. We were grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, grinding, and we hit that wall. And when you hit that wall and you hit bottom, you're just like, I cannot do this. I can't run my life like this anymore. There's got to be a better way. And you start to ask those questions and the right person ultimately shows up in your life. Right. That is going to help you. And it was you for us. So. Wow. I. I love that.
