Two speakers, Danny and Flip, discuss the difficulty of summarizing their careers at a high-school reunion. They describe themselves as serial entrepreneurs who started with one company and expanded into seven related businesses (turnkey, renovations, property management, brokerage, acquisitions, syndication, and a new venture called Freedom Family Funding launching this year). The piece emphasizes opportunity recognition and the ripple effect of building successive ventures, concluding with uncertainty about how to succinctly describe their work.
It's interesting. This summer I'm having a high school reunion. I'm not gonna say what year, but I actually started talking to some friends that I haven't talked to in a couple decades, and they said, hey, Flip, so what do you do now? And I went, I don't know, Danny. What do we do?
That is a hard question for people like us to answer. And if you're like us, we're serial entrepreneurs. We see opportunity everywhere. And when you have one opportunity and you start building upon it, it's. It creates other opportunities and it becomes this ripple effect. And that's how we've turned one company into seven businesses. Now is the one created an opportunity for us to create another one, which turned in from turnkey to renovations, to property management to brokerage to acquisitions. And then we did the syndication, and that one opened up the opportunity to build number seven, which is launching this year, which is Freedom Family funding. It's just one of those things where you see the opportunity, you capture it, and you continue to build, Build. And it is very hard to describe. What do you do? I don't know.
Yeah. In fact, I still don't. So if you're heading to your high school reunion this summer, make sure you take that time to think about what exactly it is you do. So when they say, hey, what do you do for a living? You can honestly just go bang and you know exactly what to tell them, because I still don't.
