Short YouTube monologue (Danielle Robison, Nov 21, 2023) advising listeners to perform due diligence by asking prospective partners/investors about their worst deals and failures to learn their character and how they behave when things go wrong.
When people ask me, how do I do diligence? Because I encourage everybody, do due diligence. Ask people what their worst deal is. Find out where they're failing. And the reason why you're asking these questions is because you want to understand their character, right? You want to understand what happens to your business, what happens to the investor, what happens to your deal when things go wrong. That's when you learn the character of the person. And if they're going to tuck tail and run or stick through it and make sure that the people that trusted them are taken care of.
