Speakers argue that vertical integration is essential because outsourcing produced repeated failures when the company was starting out. By bringing services in-house they provide a one-stop shop that lets staff rapidly resolve issues ("run down the hallway") and better support investors end-to-end. The excerpt also emphasizes company values—authenticity, humility, and integrity—and a customer-first commitment to fix problems when they occur.
Outsourcing sucks. So what is the importance of being a vertically integrated company is simply said it's because outsourcing sucks.
That's right. So it's the driving force behind our family of companies being vertically integrated from A to Z so that we can hold our investors hands from the beginning all the way to the end. We've already experienced many times when we were first starting to build our companies where we outsourced it to other people and it was horrible nightmare. Five different property management companies we had to go through before we were able to bring it in house and start controlling it. The nice part about this is that we are under one roof and now if anything goes wrong, we literally can quick phone call if you're out in the field or run down the hallway and go knock, knock, knock. And we can get the answer to what we need. So our team has worked really hard on not being six different companies, but being one company and allowing everybody to interact and help our investors best we can.
So essentially you're getting a one stop shop. What you get with our company is a genuine, authentic company. We're humble, we're great people to work with, and most importantly, integrity. We know that if something goes wrong, which it happens all the time, we will step in and we will make sure that we fix it to make sure that it gets corrected.
