Dave Barnhart reviews META and QQQ trades using dark pool data and pivot points on TrendSpider. META shorted after a 93.1 million-share block rejection, targeting 712.50. QQQ showed rapid volume spikes with support levels at 635-636 and 628-629.

Good afternoon, traders. It's Thursday, January 29th at 2:50 PM. Let's review our trade setups for today. And wow, it was a wild day. We had Meta and then we had the QQQ. So what I'm using is Moby's Dark Pool indicator on TrendSpider. I just wanted to show you something here. So we'll review our trade setups using the TrendSpider indicator where your trades show up. Right on the chart as they happen within 60 seconds. So I posted a tweet this morning at— what was it? It was 9:32. This trade came in 7:30:38, 93.1 million. And we could see this open here, then there was this trade, and then all of a sudden massive, massive rejection all the way down to the bottom here. Now I use something called Person's Pivots. This was an R5, which is— person's pivots usually go to R5 and then that's it because it gapped up on earnings, right? So we, we have that move up today on the right-hand side. And so we were bullish above $7.20, $7.50, bearish below $7.15. So we had mapped this out right here. So $7.15 was reasonable because that would have been, that would have been down here, right? Get below 715. But what happened is this rallied up into the open, so we needed to get a different trade on the downside. So because this was so far away, when we saw this and this massive sell-off in the first 5 minutes, then you have this trade here, 93 million dollars worth right here, 2 minutes in, and then it was rejected. This was a great shorting opportunity breaking below here. And where do you see it going, right? These are the other trades that came in throughout the day. So these ones would have just been added to your chart as it happens. So you can see here, this white line is the R5, but then you see 41 million, 58 million, 38 million here. Manipulating the price, and we come down and we hold this R5. There's the break, the retest, and then it starts moving. This here with increasing volume, right? Starts moving up. That's a great long entry. And so we came back and look at the price action here. We've got 730.38. We came back to these other prints that came in the day. Came back. This was the retest. And increasing volume again off of this original trade. So as far as institutions are concerned, they sold off to the bottom, added over $120 million here, and then now we're back testing, breaking above, and another print, $737.98. There's actually 2 in there, $247 million. And now look at what's happening here on the price action. We're holding this. So let's see if this can break above 738, get above this. Maybe we'll get to 740, 745, maybe this high here, 744.12. So, you know, I'm taking a couple minutes to explain this. Just want you guys to see how the price action works with institutions on here. The only moving average that I have on here is my 4 exponential moving average. I wanted to keep everything as clean as possible for you to see that there. All right, so bullish above 720, 750, bearish below 715. So the 715 occurred here, and our next target was 712.50, and this tagged it. So that was a $2.50 move here, but this turned out to be the bottom and then moving back up. So this is— this came back up above 727.50 all the way up to 738. So we had marked— mapped us up 727.50, 730, 735, and then we've got 740 and 750. So this is still— this is still kind of in play. On that, this is continuing to move higher later in the day. So we've got a higher high, higher low, higher high, higher low, and let's see, we're consolidating at the moment. So Meta was a great trade today. Let's go ahead and look at the QQQs. Okay, so the white lines are my person's pivot support and resistance. So we can see these here: pivot S1, S2, S3. Now these are important Intraday anyway for that, but the Q's sold off really quickly. We were bullish above 636, bearish below 635. Now the 636 never occurred. See, I wanted to get above this R1. I wanted really to break above, come back and test, and then move above again. So that didn't actually happen. So we're bearish below 635. And coming up to the open, there was massive volume. Look at this candle here. This was massive volume, and then we opened tag to print, and it just threw itself down the stairs riding the four moving average. Now see when we come down to these support areas here, six twenty nine oh nine, we came down, we tried to hold it, and it got rejected again. Testing these other prints here, and then we came back, and then this six twenty six hundred and twenty-two million dollars here, six twenty-two ninety-two came back, and we tagged this S four, and then we're back up in between these prints here. So now look at the look at the dollar values here that we're stuck in between. We call this print pong because they're always forming their position here. You've got this reversal at the bottom. Massive, massive volume. There's the breakdown, and then this is a massive candle reversal with lots of volume moving up. So if we can get above 627, and this 620-660 is support, then we can get 628, 629, something like that. So bullish above 636 never happened, but bearish below 635. I mapped this down to 631. 15, and this one came all the way down here to 618. But like I— you hear me say in my videos all the time, if we're riding this 4 exponential moving average, there's no reason to get out unless you close above it. This one tagged this print here and got thrown down the stairs again. So this would be— if you were in it up here, you could tolerate testing this and this break and the retest To the downside would have failed. This was reversal, so could have gotten out there with this increasing volume on the break back above this support here from the short side. So the Q's was a massive trade today, and Meta. So it worked out really, really well. On the right-hand side, I've got the 10 top trades in the last 30 days. So you can do 30 in the last year if you want. With the regular Dark Pool Indicator. We have a Pro version that allows you to do 50, and then you can actually do individual segments. So if you wanted to see, say for example, you wanted to look at COVID, you could do January to March 2020 and put that on your chart and see what happens. You can do groups like that, and if you have the Pro version, when the trade hits the tape within 60 seconds It'll be on your chart so you could actually see it. So nobody has dark pool data like that, and so it's a great partnership with TrendSpider. So I wanted to share this with you guys. Hopefully you find that interesting— trading with the dark pools only and standard pivot points and one moving average. This is quite good. All right, happy trading everyone, and we'll see you tomorrow. OB Tick has partnered with TrendSpider to bring real-time institutional trades to your charts.
