In this video, trader Dave Barnhart provides a detailed intraday recap of his SPY and QQQ trade setups for March 3, 2026. He begins by outlining pre‑market bullish and bearish thresholds (SPY bullish above 678, bearish below 675; QQQ bullish above 598, bearish below 595.5) and then walks through the price action, noting when each level was breached, the specific price targets that were hit, and the volume spikes that confirmed moves. He references multiple technical indicators—4‑ and 8‑period exponential moving averages (EMA), 50‑day simple moving average (SMA), 161‑day moving average, 200‑day EMA and SMA—to explain why certain price points acted as support or resistance. For SPY, he details a swing from a low of ~670 to a high of 682.61, hitting four upward targets and four downward targets. For QQQ, he describes a range from ~592 to ~605, also hitting several targets. Throughout, Barnhart emphasizes trade‑management tactics such as scaling out, leaving portions for breakeven, and using recent price prints as provisional support zones. He concludes by encouraging traders to capture profits in volatile markets and promises new setups for the next day.

Good afternoon, traders. It's Tuesday, March 3rd at 2:55 PM. Let's review our trade setups for today on the SPY and the QQQ. So we had some downside and some upside trades. So we kind of expect that when we have a melty market. So we were down about— the SPY was down, what, $11 or something at its— at the most today, and then it's retraced back up. So let's go ahead and see what actually happened. So We were bullish above 678, bearish below 675. So if we go back and look pre-market, we had mapped this out just after 4 AM. So the bearish below occurred first, the 675. So there were a couple opportunities here because this actually happened probably around 4:30. The video was already being made, and so this came down and tagged our target here, this S2 at 673.74. It held that. And then we had another go potentially at this. It came up to $6.70, $7.50, came back down and tested it again. And then as we come into the open, we upthrust it, and that was a great entry breaking on the downside through $6.75. It came down here and tagged our target down at $6.70. And what I had mentioned here was the 7.3 million share trade, $6.70, $1.65. This was a great target. Came down to 670, and then look what happened. We tested the print, pulled back, increasing volume, breaking above. If you were watching, 10:55 was a great opportunity with a target back up to S2. So that would have been 672 to 673.74 anyway for a scalp, but this one had increasing volume through, and that kicked it off through the, uh, 50 simple moving average. And this is where the 4 and the 8 exponential moving average wound up staying, wound up running together like that. And so this one pulled back to the 8, continued up. That's a 161 moving average. We got snaggled here in between that and my 200 exponential here. But we— and the other thing that we were snaggled against is this 20 million shares here, 679.10, 679.11. From December 16th and December 17th. That's right about here. So we were coming up to that. We broke through that to my 200 simple, came up, tagged the 6.4 million share trade, back tested this print again. The low here was 679.28, so very close to this, and then we pushed up through this print again at 681.70. 78. So the high here, the current high is 682.61. So my target here was 681.78. Here the next target up was 683.47. That's this cam here. And then up to the pivot, this 684.34 was my end of the road here. So as long as you're taking some profit when you see a big move like this, take something off the table because then You can say, all right, well, I'm gonna leave a portion for go big or go home and maybe leave something for breakeven. You don't want to lose on another portion of your trade after you've made money on that. So if it comes back to your breakeven, you don't wanna lose more on that case. But if you got in here on the break above, then, you know, you could have this as your support then, because if this comes back, tests it, and continues, This is the idea here, is that you want this to be your support area, and this didn't disappoint here. We did consolidate. Look at the time, 11:50 all the way through till 1:15. So this is the minion hour where the price gets manipulated quite a bit. So anyway, we're poking our heads up here around, um, 682 on that. So yeah, it hit a bunch of targets on the upside. So it hit 1, 2, 3 4 targets there on the upside, and then on the downside we hit 1, 2, 3, hit 4 targets on the downside to get all the way down to 670 before it reversed. All right, let's go ahead and look at the QQQs. All right, so the QQQs, we'll zoom in here. Uh, we were bullish above 598, bearish below 595.50. So we were mapping this out around here. So 595.50 occurred very early after, right after the video was, was, was done, and it hit our target down here, 593.40. Similar sort of thing, we came up, we had another go at it, 595, and then at the open, similar sort of situation to the SPY where we pulled down here to a low of about 592. So I had a target of $5.92, and this is a similar situation where we broke above, retest, increasing volume. You can see this here and continuing to move up, snagged in our 200 exponential at $1.61. And this red one here, dotted one, is my 200 simple moving average. So we're stuck in this 4.2 million share thing from September. Of last year is 602.40. And so I get asked all the time, it's like, well, how long are these prints good for? It's like they're good until they're not, which means that if the price action just blows through them, then the institutions are done with that level. So here it's still good. And so my final target was 604.48 and 605.33 up here to the pivot. And that would, uh, like if you watch my morning video. So if this is going to continue, that would be my last target that I had mapped out to for the day. All right, there you have it. Those are your trade setups for today, the results. So hopefully you made some money on this. There were some good trades on the up and downside for both stocks, and it's great when the market's volatile. But you— there's room to, uh, to make some money on that. Okay, um, all right, have a great evening everyone, and we'll see you tomorrow with all new trade setups. Happy trading.
