In this pre‑market video, trader Dave Barnhart provides a detailed technical analysis and intraday trade setups for the SPY (S&P 500 ETF) and QQQ (NASDAQ‑100 ETF). He begins by reviewing the past 90 days of large‑print (institutional) volume to identify key “lines in the sand” – price levels where millions of shares have previously changed hands. Using these prints, along with daily 4‑ and 8‑period exponential moving averages (EMAs), 50/100/200 simple and exponential moving averages (SMAs/EMAs), and pivot points, he maps out bullish zones (above specific thresholds) and bearish zones (below defined support levels) for both ETFs. For SPY he outlines bullish targets from $679 up to $684 and bearish targets down to $660‑$652, noting critical $1.50 and $5‑dollar intervals. For QQQ he similarly defines bullish targets from $598 up to $605 and bearish targets down to $580‑$570, highlighting institutional prints at $633 and $605.96. He emphasizes the importance of EMA convergence as a momentum signal, S‑level oversold markers, and the need to watch major dollar and pivot levels. The video concludes with a promotion for his weekly Dark Pool newsletter, a support email, and a partnership with TrendSpider for real‑time institutional trade visualization.

Good morning, traders. It's Tuesday, March 3rd at 4:17 AM. All right, the market's on a downturn again. We can see the SPY's down $10 this morning. So what I've done is I've gone back 90 days to see the largest prints, and here we can just see everybody knows that this is kind of a rounded top. It's been difficult to trade there for swing trading anyway, for any sense of direction. You can see how choppy it's been. Now, this is a line in the sand, $679.10 and $679.11, 20 million shares right here. We're below that. And one of the things here, the 4 and the 8 exponential on the daily have been turning down. Yesterday we had increasing volume testing this print back up to the 4 and 8 exponential moving average. And then now we're actually moving down. Let's see if we can make a lower low here below $6.75 and see if this can get down here to $6.71 and maybe below. On the upside, there'll be probably— we'll have a retracement trade probably up here to the 100 simple moving average back to these 6.4 million share prints up here. And so let's go ahead and map this out. We are going to be bullish above 678. Let's get above here, 678, back above this, uh, this open target. 679, 680.06 is the pivot, 680.55, 681.78 is what I called out right here, back to the 100 simple moving average on the daily as well. Then we've got 683, 47, and then 684.34 is a retracement to the pivot. And so what we have in here is we have my 200 exponential, 200 simple, 50 simple moving average. This is the post-market here where we landed right on the pivot, and then we're down. So if we come back up here and start breaking down again, then definitely continue on the downside. But right now, this is the line in the sand. If we close below this 20 million Right here, whatever this is, 20 million times $679. That is billions and billions of dollars here. So you can see how the institutions have been positioning here. It's clear this range up here from 689 to 694, that's 713. It's at 2127. This is almost 40 million up here, these largest trades. So this is the big position here. Is 40 million, and then there's 20 million or 26 million down here. So we're below over 60 million shares in, in trades. And so if this continues down, then we would have to map out even further to see how far back that goes. But anyway, for the intraday, we'll do that. On the downside, we're going to be bearish below 675. We want this 675.65 to be resistance. Target 673.74, 671.27 is this 4.9 million which we mentioned down here. Then we've got 670, 667.50, 665, 663.14 is S3. That's usually oversold, but we'll see if we're— if the 4 and the 8 exponential are moving together like this on the downside, that's an increased momentum. And so we'll stay in the trade for that. Then we've got 660, then we've got 655, 652.54. So I've just got wide ranges here if this is going to continue on the downside. Mind the $1.50 levels and the $5 levels as well on the downside. All right, let's go ahead and look at the NASDAQ, the QQQs. All right, similar sort of thing. The Q's are down $11 today, and these are the largest trades in the last 90 days. You can see where the institutions have their positions. There was the high here, 2.9 million in prints, not the highest price, but in prints here, $633. And so here we've been Pulling back to prints, testing prints, pulling back to prints, testing prints. Now we're breaking below again. So let's see, you can see how these ranges have been occurring there. And when we're talking intraday, like the smaller share sizes like 1 million, things like that, those are the ones where they're positioning to get the price where they want it to go. Now here we can come all the way down here to about 585, which is the 200 simple, 200 exponential. On the daily chart, which is also back here to support back here from November. So let's go ahead and map this out. This was the longer term, and let's map this out for the day trade. We're going to be bullish above $598. Let's get above here. Target $599, $600, $675, $601.53. Then we've got, uh, $602, $604, $604.81, $605.33, and which is back to the pivot here that's also into this area. 200 simple, 200 exponential, double pivot, 50 simple, and the post-market. You can see how this came down and sat on this print, the 605.96 from February 19th. We sat on that and then we've gapped down a bit. So usually maybe at the open there'll be some profit taking and potentially some short covering for people who got stuck in this, going along with increasing volume. This was actually a bullish engulfing here with increasing volume. People would have gotten trapped in this thinking to go long when we didn't close above the print, right? That's really important to be able to do that. But this is a downward trend here. So anyway, if you got trapped, you're probably getting stopped out, and people would have potentially added to their short position. At that point. Okay, we're going to be bearish below $595.50. We're getting close to that. This $595.96, we want to get below that. So $596.50. If this— if we're already below that by the time you watch the video, just find the next dollar level. So say $595, then $593.40 is S2. And below that we want 592, 590, 587.50, 585, 581.47. So we'd be taking some profit as this comes down these dollar levels. S3 usually oversold, and then below here I've got 580, 575, and 570, and then you've got 569.54 which is S4. So we'll see. That brings us— if that moves, that gets us way down here. But I've mapped it out anyway. There's so much room on the downside, and with these moving together, there's no reason to get out. But mind the bumps here at the 5 major levels, these pivots and cams, and then also at the major dollar levels. All right, there you have it. Those are your trade setups for today.
