In this video Dave Barnhart explains the massive intraday sell‑off by focusing on institutional and dark‑pool “late prints” rather than news headlines. He shows that on the SPY, QQQ, IWM and other symbols, large delayed trades (e.g., 15 M shares at 604.37 amounting to $9 B) were reported after the market hour due to a 24‑hour reporting loophole. By tracking these prints over the past four years with the Movi/Moby platform, he identifies clusters of multi‑million‑share trades at key price levels (e.g., 606.70, 604.21, 602.80) that precede corrections. He ties the print buildup to technical signals – a 4‑EMA crossing below the 8‑EMA on the daily chart – indicating a strong downtrend. Barnhart compares the current pattern to the COVID‑era sell‑off, noting similar volume spikes. He forecasts a possible gap‑down continuation, short‑covering bounce to the 4‑EMA, and further shorting opportunities if prints re‑accumulate. He warns about elevated options volatility and advises careful position management. Specific stocks such as MARA, quantum‑computing names, BABA and Intel are highlighted for their print activity and short‑trade potential. Finally, he promotes the MoviTick tool for overlaying institutional volume on charts, urging viewers to monitor prints for future trade decisions.

Hey everyone. So what's with the massive sell-off today? Well, there's news, but we have the dark pool. We have the institutional trades. We see what's going on. And I wanna show you something out of the gate. These were coming in all day. This is on the SPY, the Q's, the IWM, and the Diamonds. So this trade price of 604.37, there were 15 million of them today, 93 trades. For a total of $9 billion, and clearly they were selling because the SPY is down 18 points today. What's important about these trades is that these ones are reported late, and there's a legal loophole where they don't have to report them for 24 hours. And we keep track of all of these. Moby's kept track of them for the last four years. We have them back since 2020. So if we go ahead and we look, and this is how we can spot. when corrections are about to happen. And if we look at this something here called late prints, we have them broken out by the indices here, and we can see that for yesterday, 606.70 was 5 million shares. That was $3 billion in this trade at 604.29. And then the day before, 606, 604.21, another billion, 604.33. So you get the point, 604. 68, 602.80 for 5 million, another 3 billion. And so there's a massive accumulation of prints here. And when we start seeing these, these big levels like this, another 3 billion, then we keep track of that on our charts, right? We can go to our chart, our print lookup, and we'll go to the SPY and we'll switch to a daily chart. And then we're going to set this to anything over 2 million. And if we look at today, there's 12 million. Now this is saying 12 million. This is counting market hours. And so there's a whole bunch of these that occurred after the market as well at the same price. So we're up to over 15 million on that, but look, 606.70, 607, 604, 607, 604. And you get the picture, right? 603, 606. And then once we start closing below these— so yesterday, yesterday we see this, we've got this little doji here, and we were closing below some prints. And it was the first day where our 4 EMA was crossing below the 8 EMA. You can see how this was a strong trend. They had separated. We were riding this 4 exponential moving average. Then we come back, we go sideways for a bit, but then all of these prints came in around here. Okay. December 3rd. And there was all of this going on, all of these prints, billions and billions of dollars coming in. And then we close below. This is an indication to maybe put on some protection. And we didn't expect a massive move like this all in one day, right? Because right now we're down $17.65. And this one came all the way back down here. So we're at 586.67 at the time of making this video. This blew through all support and resistances and came all the way back down to here all in one day. And I've only ever seen that once, which is during COVID And if you're interested to see that print buildup in COVID, then subscribe to Moby and check out the late prints around 2020. Do your research. So right here This was an indication potentially to go short, and it doesn't matter what the news is, right? It's um it's drones or Powell was speaking or you know there there was news, but we always have the prints before the news, and then we have this massive massive volume. So what I'm expecting, what usually happens, is there is a potential for just a straight continuation down. The one thing is we don't really have much of a wick here. At all. And so there is a potential for this to gap down and continue. Usually when it's a massive move like this, there might be short covering tomorrow, and this could bring us up to where the 4 EMA is on the daily chart. And when we touch that and start moving down, that might be another shorting opportunity. And we'll see where these late prints are. coming in tomorrow and see what actually happens. Now the options chain is, is a bit crazy now because the volatility is really high. So you have to be careful there and watch your current positions. So if you look at across the market, the other stocks that we were looking at, I was calling out through the week. We'll just look at this on the daily charts. We'll get rid of that. So these ones are starting to pull back. Everything's pulling back. We've been talking about Mara. We've been talking about Qubits. This one actually did okay. It seemed to have hold. The quantum computing stocks tended to still be strong amongst all of this, but we've been calling these out because there's so many prints and trades, right? So now you can find some great shorting opportunities. Baba Intel finally broke below this twenty level, and there were millions and millions of prints. There's more on Intel as well. And so we can see that things— it's a little bit of a bloodbath, but we're, we're ready for it. Don't panic. Let's— we'll map out our trades. We'll do some more trade callouts tomorrow and we'll see where things go. So hang in there. When tracking the institutional trades, you really need something like this, like, like MoviTick. You're able to put the prints right on your chart, see where the institutional volume is. And then you can plan accordingly. All right, uh, have a great trading day ahead, everyone, and we'll speak soon.
