Meet David - The Accountant who set up the Odyssey

It's always good to be able to put a face to a name. Hi, I'm Dave, the CEO of Odyssey Resources. Hi, I'm Dave, the accountant who set up the Odyssey. I wanted to tell you a bit about myself and then a little bit about the Odyssey as well. I've been an accountant all my professional life. I started out with a big eight chartered accounting firms quite some time ago and became a chartered accountant and then became and fcpa. I'm also an Australian registered tax agent. I first came to Vietnam in 1994 and set up the Odyssey in 1998. At the time we set up the company, we were supporting foreign owned companies doing business here in Vietnam. In 2005, 2006, we started outsourcing to Australia and Australian accounting firms. Particularly when we first started out, we were one of the first movers into Australian outsourcing, an entrepreneur if you like. As of today, we have around 250 professional staff. We service around 500 Australian accounting firms and we complete around 50,000 jobs annually. It's been quite a journey. Our focus is still on Australian accounting outsourcing as we have been for the last 15 or 20 years. It's what we do and we're good at it. We focus primarily on quality first, then timing and then cost. We won't return a job that has poor quality. We'd rather tell you it's going to be a day or two longer and make sure the quality is done right. Poor quality is the hidden cost for Australian accounting firms Anyway.
