Being Different Is "Bad" (Are You Different?)

Dean Graziosi was placed in special education and felt like an outsider in high school. He built wealth through self-education and habits instead of following the standard path. If you feel different or judged, he argues that's actually your advantage.

If you feel different, if you feel like the black sheep of your family, if you feel like you just. You don't fit in. Congratulations. With all the opportunities that exist today, why haven't you reached your next level of income, life, and wealth? In most cases, we've been lied to. We've been told that if you find the right opportunity and you work hard, you can be successful, and that's simply not true. Millionaires, billionaires, and successful people have realized you need the foundation for wealth, the habits. And that's exactly what you'll be learning on the Millionaire Success Habits podcast. All success starts here. Has there ever been a time in your life where you just felt out of place? You didn't feel like you fit with everybody else, like everybody else was crazy and you thought you were sane, but the rest of the world thought you were nuts? Hey, it's Dean Graziosi. Welcome to the Millionaire Success Habits Podcast. I am filming this right now in front of my high school. Yes, I'm back in my little town in upstate New York, which I left many, many years ago. This town, great little town. But I'm here because I'm kind of going down memory lane, and I want to share that with you if you're listening to me. If you listen to a Millionaire Success Habits podcast, if you listen to Personal Growth, read Personal Growth, desire another level, don't want to be satisfied, then you're someone who's going to understand what I'm saying. You know, when I was in the halls of this high school behind me, or my high school, if you're just listening, I remember walking in feeling so alone, feeling so different than everybody else, feeling that no one understood me. I felt like the oddball. I was told I was a dreamer. I was told that if I wasn't going to go to college and I didn't get good grades, my life would be nothing. I was being judged by an outdated scorecard. And the truth of the matter is, I judged myself. I felt pathetic. In some instances. I felt like, why didn't I get it? Why didn't school resonate in me? Why didn't I want to go to school? In fact, when my friends were going off to school, I remember thinking, how could they do that? This. This high school that I'm in feels like a prison to me. And they're going off to do more of this learning, and. And I knew so many people who had gone to college and had all this debt, and they came out and couldn't get a job, or they went in A completely different practice or they never learned anything. Hands on. So many people that came out spent five years in school and the first six months working hands on, they understood a lot more. I just didn't understand it. But guess what? I felt like the oddball. I remember. I'm not gonna say I and I didn't have a horrific high school experience, but I can remember walking down those halls just feeling so different. And what I realize now, and this is what I want to share with you today. And if you like this message, make sure you subscribe to Dean. That's go to subscribetodeen.com so you can make sure to know every time I share a new video and we do discounts and special offers, so make sure you go to subscribetodean.com but the reason I'm sharing this, because I want you to know, if you feel like the oddball, if you feel different, if you feel like the black sheep of your family, if you feel like you're just. You don't fit in. Congratulations. They don't build statues of critics. I say that all the time. You don't make an impact on the life by standing in line and doing what everybody else says. You don't get out of generations of complacency, of generations of just being okay by doing what everybody else does. Those that take action, those that seek knowledge, those that listen to a podcast or watch a podcast like this or read books and go for more, those that aren't satisfied with being comfortable, aren't satisfied with good, are the ones that make the difference. Again, this is easy for me to talk about sitting here in front of a high school that, you know, I can remember thinking if I got lucky, I could work construction and make a thousand dollars a week or work on cars with my dad, because my guidance counselor told me that was about the extent of what I had in me. She literally said to me, you should work with your dad on cars. Or there's a construct companies around because, you know, your grades just aren't there. Maybe you don't have the highest iq. I mean, literally, not being impolite, I remember she was being nice to me. She had empathy for me. She felt bad for me. I make more in a day than she probably made in three years now. And I'm not saying that to be rude or cocky or condescending in any way. And money isn't the only definition of success. Money without happiness or joy or fulfillment is worthless. But I found fulfillment. I'm in the best shape of My life. I eat healthy. I work on my own personal growth. I'm happy every single day. I have two amazing children. I love being a dad. I love being an evolving man who's learning and growing. I love all those aspects of my life. So it's not just the money. I found success in so many areas of my life. Do I still need help in many? Of course. I'm far from perfect. But I say that because I want this to be your call to action. Are you judging yourself or allowing others to judge you based on an outdated scorecard? Are you thinking you can't be successful because you didn't have money? I didn't have money, didn't have the best smarts. I didn't have the best smarts in this building. I was in special ed. I've written multiple New York Times best selling books when I could barely read and couldn't spell and teachers calling me stupid. I mean, we just have to realize that life can be everything we want it to be. But you have to. You've heard it. You've maybe heard about the read the secret or listened to the secret. You know, you can manifest it. That's all good. But maybe today's the first time listening to this podcast you realize once and for all that you have everything you need. You don't need anything else. You don't have to be richer, you don't have to live in a different area. You don't have to be smarter. You don't have to have a different college education in today's world. You can work on your own self education. You can join my underground millionaire mastermind and be part of a mastermind at $7 a month. You can read amazing books. You can join higher level groups and higher level masterminds. You can create self education. But here's the thing. I didn't get here by dabbling. I didn't get rich overnight. I didn't find a magic money machine. I worked on my habits. I worked on learning what successful people do. And I did what they did and I learned along the way. And I didn't take no for an answer. And I didn't listen to my peers and I didn't listen to the naysayers. So anyway, that's my message for today. Short and sweet. There is nothing anyone else has done that you can't do. And I want to encourage you to take action. I was the guy in this school behind me, scared to death thinking I was dumb, not having money, thought life would just be okay. And I proved everybody wrong, and I want the same for you. I'm Dean Graziosi. I appreciate you being here with the Millionaire Success Habits podcast and sharing it. It's growing like crazy.
