Hey, everybody. Dean Graziosi, welcome to the Weekly Wisdom. First off, I hope you had an incredible Thanksgiving. Secondly, I hope you watched last week's video where I gave you that 30 day challenge. Get ready for New Year's to pick one of three things. One, get rid of the news for 30 days, not one bit of it. Number two, give up sugar. Yeah. That affects your mental behavior so much, you have no idea. Give up sugar. That's option two. Number three was no judgment. Spend 30 days with zero judgment. Analyze if you are judging, even if you think you're not. I find myself doing it, too. So that was last week's challenge. Try it for 30 days. Do it between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Get ready for the new year. So pick one of those three. Okay. Today I want to talk to you about lying to yourself. We all do it, and a lot of us lie to ourselves because without realizing it, we can't face the truth. And it's easier to craft a story, to craft a lie. You say, you know what? I'm happy with my job. You know, I should be content. I can pay the bills and, you know, my kids don't have to worry about eating. So, you know, I like my job. Bullshit. Sorry. I just had to say it. If that's not you, if you're. Don't. You got to realize that you could call craft these lies on my relationship. It's good enough. I should be happy, you know? No, don't lie to yourself. If your relationship isn't good, then focus on it and be honest. It's horrible. I go home and I'm sad. I go home. It's not working. I go home and I want to run, but I just stay there for the kids. Or I stay there because of money, or I stay. No. You know, if it's that bad, stop lying to yourself. Let the pain sink in, because if the pain sinks in, you will do something about it. Go to marriage counseling. Read a book. You know, listen. I worry all the time about being the best dad I can be. I do. I worry that if I'm a good dad in one way and my kids are behaved and they're incredible kids, and they listen, and they're the kind of kids you'd want to go to dinner with because they sit and have conversation. But what if I do all that and I don't show them what failure is, and when they're adults, they're polite, but they're useless or they become entitled? I have all these fears, but when I had that fear, instead of lying to myself and said, well, I'm doing the best I could do. No, I said, if I do this wrong, I. I'm going to live to regret it. I had a good friend tell me once that sticks with me and I'm just digressing for a minute. He said, you'll only be as happy as your unhappiest child. Wow. Those of you that are older, maybe you realize that or have lots of kids. So I think about that. So what do I did? I went out and obsessed. I read so many books on parenting and I love love and logic parenting. It's what I've adapted. It's what I've done. I stopped lying to myself that everything was okay. So I digressed for a minute. Because if you get disturbed, you will take action. If you lie to yourself and say, you know, I'm just a big bone person, I look good overweight. No, stop lying to yourself. You look like crap. You look like crap to yourself. If you want to be, if you are totally happy being heavy, I think that's amazing. But if it's a lie just to. Just to get through the day, then stop lying to yourself. Look in the mirror and say, I am fat. I look like crap to myself. I have to make a difference. Read a book, go online, get to the gym. So my whole point today is really analyze over the next seven days. Or my challenge for this week is find out where you're lying to yourself. Is it about your finances? I make enough money. No, you don't. If you're stressing every month, if you're worried, if your wife or your husband's asking you, can we take this vacation, you go, I don't think so. If you're coming home from work and you're a little short with your kids, or you feel like kicking the dog, or your wife talks to you and you just give her an answer and go, not right now. Or your husband. You do the same thing to your husband. Maybe it's because you don't have enough money. Don't say it's enough. Be honest with yourself. Get disturbed. Maybe you'll reach back around and grab a book on. Grab one of my books on real estate or dive back in. Or you'll work harder to get a promotion or you'll finally start your own business again. I just know that so many of us create lies because we can't face the truth and it's just good enough to get by. If you want to stay status quo, if you want to be okay, if you want to just get through life, then keep lying to yourself. But if you want to be disturbed, and I know this from experience because I go through this same exact process for myself. I know I craft lies for myself. And I got to find them and go, what are you doing? No, that's a lie. The truth is you're unhappy. It's disturbing. Find an answer. Tell the truth. Find an answer. Have an amazing week.
