FREE Yourself From NEGATIVE THOUGHTS & Start Living LIFE TODAY | Dean Graziosi

Dean Graziosi shares a three-step practice to break anxiety: name the fear underneath it, write down what's already good in your life, and write down your ideal outcome one year from now. He argues that disruption is a chance to grow, not a time to make decisions from fear.

Are you letting fear guide your decision making during these crazy times in the world?
So here's three things to do if you're feeling anxious, nervous or scared.
Why didn't I go after being an artist? Go after real estate investing. Go after doing my own online business. Go after the fitness world. Go in the coaching world. Go sing. Why? Why didn't I do it? Because someone told you staying on the path was smart. Screw that. Get off the path.
Hey, it's Dean Graziosi and welcome to the Dean Grazios show where we go upstream to anchor in a foundation for success. This is my Home Edition. Filming this and recording this on my phone so I can make sure I deliver to you the capabilities, the strategies, the tactics you need to thrive in these uncertain times. Listen, this is the podcast that's not going to deliver you the overnight magical money machines or tell you how to get rich without doing anything. We're going to be real and raw and tell you you got to anchor in a foundation for success. That's what we cover right here. If you love this podcast, if these 10 to 12 minute sessions really impact your life, then share it with friends. Take a screenshot. Let your friends, family, people that follow you on IG and Facebook, know what we're doing here. Of course I don't charge for this. I'm here to serve and I want to talk about fear today. This is a crazy time in the world. I would believe fear is higher now than it's been since maybe World War I or World War II. People are scared for lots of reasons. We're scared if this virus could be something that could really hurt us on a whole another level. We're scared that our jobs or our income is going to go away. We're scared that the economy's not going to bounce back. We're scared that we could stay inside for too long and the chaos of that has repercussions that could be exponential. All natural and all real. But let me just ask you this. Are you currently, today, this very moment, as you listen to this podcast, are you making decisions through the eye of Fear? Now, I know this from other situations in my life that when I make decisions from a fearful mindset, I never make a good one. I've played too small. I've missed opportunities. I let the wrong voices stick in my soul and let the right one slip by. When I'm in a fear based place, I don't listen to personal growth. I don't want to listen to church or a service on a Sunday. I'll go to the news. I'll go to my negative friends. It's this weird thing. When you're in a fearful place, it's almost like your subconscious wants it to be fed. And if you're in that space, in that state of mind, it's almost impossible to design your bigger future. It's almost impossible to see where things could go. So what I want to encourage you today, if you're listening or watching, is what lens are you looking through? I have a pair of glasses on right now as I'm recording this. And you could be looking through two different lenses or taking two different paths. One lens is, things aren't going to get better. What am I going to do? I don't know how to take care of my future. What if my income goes away? What if this stays for 60 days? All those things could happen. But when you go down that road, you can't make powerful decisions to change your life. Or you could look through the lens is, this is out of my control. I didn't make this happen. I can't fix it. I can't make it go any faster. So I want to look through the lens of how do I become a better version of me? How do I. How do I shut off the lens of fear? How do I shut off those thoughts going inside of my head that this won't work out? And how do I shift them into thoughts that could take me to where it is that I really want to go? You see, I've said this last week. If you were listening to my podcast, this. The next 90, 120 days, this is going to end could take three months, six months, the economy could take three years. Who knows? But it's going to end. And who are you going to be at the end of this? Are you going to be the person that was fearful through the entire thing and you missed the window of opportunity that the world opened for you while you were going through this? I've also said this a lot. But I want you to think about this right now. When one door closes, another one opens.
Duh.
Like Dean. Okay, you want me to come to your podcast to learn something I've heard for a million years now? I want you to think about this. How many times when one door closes, does someone just stand there and keep rattling the doorknob? Like, jiggle, jiggle, jiggle, Come on, open back up. I want that, the job. I want the thing back. So many of you and so many people I've talked to, so many of us, you're fearful about the thing you're losing. But the thing you're losing or afraid might go away is actually the thing you've hated or despised for years. What if it's God right now, listen, whatever you believe in, but what if you believe God? Just slam the door on so many of us said, enough is enough. You've been hesitating too long to read the book, do the course, start your own business. Not live in your fear, live in your true purpose. I designed you for more. It's time to get more. I know you feel scared. I know you have scarcity. I know you feel uncertainty. But what if this was the time to actually feel certainty within yourself? We can't control the outside world, but we surely can control what we digest. We surely can control our emotions. We surely can control what we do with this time that we have that we're quarantined or need to stay home. Remember, back to that door that closed. Do you want to be the person that just sits there and rattles the doorknob and hoping your old life opens back up? Or do you want to turn and say, crap, it's time to find a new door? And you might open a few doors that have nothing behind them. But if we search, if we get out of a fear mindset and we get into a place of certainty in our soul that we've been here, we've been through tough times, we've solved problems. Listen, if you look at it globally, we've been through horrific times and we solved it. If you look at it nationally, your country has been through hard times and solved it. If you look at your state, your city, your town, your home, your family, you. If you keep narrowing it down, you realize that we've been through horrible circumstances in our lives and you're here, you're listening, you're watching, you're here to fight another day. All I know in my life, I've never made a great decision when I was scared. I never made a great decision when I was fearful. I've done them in recent time and they've never worked out. But when I stop and I look at what fear has cost me, when I look at what being scared to face this, to face the opponent, which right now is like an invisible war that's going on. This disease and this virus and the economy, it may be invisible, but it's in front of you. You can either look away and binge on Netflix and listen to the news and get more scared and. And text to friends that'll fuel your fear, or you can say no. I'm going to awaken right now. I'm going to wake up on a whole nother level. I'm going to be energized. I'm going to utilize every moment of this time and I'm going to fill my brain. I'm going to fuel my soul to not have a fear based mindset, but an empowered, energized mindset. I'm going to digest the book, finish the course, start the company, get into self education, whatever it takes. Listen, this is just a marching call. I'm not pushing you to something this very moment and telling you you must do this. I'm telling you to do something because being afraid will keep you playing small. Those that just live in fear during this time and again, I'm not, I'm not telling you there's anything wrong with being scared. This is scary times. But those that live in fear will numb themselves with tv, with wine, with booze, with distractions. I'm not saying or, or binging on the news, I'm not saying any of those in moderation are bad. I'm not judging you. I'm surely not that guy. But those of you that can get out of that fear based mindset will look at this as an opportunity for growth, an opportunity to change the direction of your life. What if this was designed by a higher power to say, it is your time, what are you going to do with it? Think if there was a success auditor watching you and you're just on the couch going, this sucks. I hate being stuck inside. And when is this going to change? And did the president give us enough money? That could be one thing. Or the success auditor could watch you going, wow, she's digesting book after book. She's going through that course she's starting. She's learning something that can create a bigger future for her on the other side of this. When this is over, she's going to be empowered.
Next level.
That's what you get to decide. I've been talking about this a lot. I've been talking about it in different ways, but I see the texts, I see the messages, I see the DMS I got. About 65% of the ones I've gotten over the last two weeks are all coming through a fear based mindset. Acknowledge that today. Do whatever it takes in your power to find strength, change your state of mind, be a role model, be a leader, fight like an underdog and watch where you could go over the next 30, 60, 90 days. I'm Dee Graziosi thanks for spending time. We try to make these under 10 minutes and give you information, tactics, strategies, motivation, inspiration to go to the next level. Have you ever, in your life, if you have give me a heart, give me a. Like, if you've ever suffered from anxiety, if you've ever been stressed, had that, like that tension, that worry, that fear, I don't know if you have, but I have. Literally yesterday, I haven't had anxiety like that in years. And I've reminded me how crippling it was. I have something going on in my personal life, and we all do. I always tell you, if I didn't have things going on, life, I wouldn't be human. And I get to fight through those things. I get to learn through those things. I get to use all the things that I share and practice, and I get to find the solution and then I get to share it with you. It's the greatest gift in the world that I have to have this outlet to share. But I want to talk about anxiety and how crazy crippling it truly is. Even if you're a tiny bit anxious, even if you're a little worried, or even if you call it stress, it'll stop you dead in your tracks from the momentum, from breaking through. It'll keep you playing small. It'll keep you in a relationship that sucks, in a job that sucks, in a life that sucks, in a world that's just not fulfilling your heart. So yesterday, something triggered me to have anxiety, like. Like nothing I've ever had before. And I couldn't get rid of it at first. And I was stressed.
And I'm worried.
I'm Thinking what.
What is wrong with me?
Why? This is what I do. And. And literally I thought of you guys and wanting to share with you today is three ways that you can break anxiety. When you're in an anxiety loop, when you're feeling anxious, when you're feeling stressed, when you're feeling worried. Usually we're doing a few things. We're thinking of what could go wrong. We're thinking of the worst case scenario. Oh my God, if that happens, I'll be broke. If that happens, I'll lose the relationship. If that happens, I'll lose my family. If that happens, I'll lose my money. If that happens, it'll go wrong. And we don't even realize subconsciously that we're thinking of what could go wrong. And then we're stacking it. We're stacking it on top of ourselves again. If you've never had anxiety and never worry, then this one's not for you. I always say I, I share each week by take what serves you from what I say and throw the rest away. But if you've ever felt nervous, scared or anxious, or had actual anxiety, then like this, and share this with somebody else. Because I want to give you three ways right now that anxiety can go away. So I yesterday hit me so hard that I went through a couple things quick and figured it'd just go away. And it didn't. It was just bit a little lingering. So then I realized the way to do it. I was focusing on what could go wrong, even though I didn't realize I was, I was focusing on. So you either realizing, figuring something that could go wrong, or there's a deep inner fear that you have. You have a fear of being alone. You have a fear of being not loved. You have a fear that you're not good enough. You have a fear that you won't have enough money. You have a fear that your relationship's not what it should be. You have this inner fear that could have happened as a kid, watching your parents, watching friends, something that happened bad when you were a kid. And that fear lives in you. It's like this hidden monster that lives inside of you and something triggers it and you don't even know why. Like, why do I feel so crappy? Why do I feel so scared? Why am I afraid? It's because it's dinging on that fear again. Or you're projecting in the future of something that hasn't happened yet. So here's three things to do if you're feeling anxious, nervous, or scared. First of all, realize that fear. Try to identify what is that fear that is making you feel this way. That fear is truly something that could have happened to your 8 year old self, your 12 year old self. Is that fear actual or is it something just dinging an insecurity inside of you? When I literally yesterday I recognized why I was anxious or having anxiety is because it was digging a fear I worried about when I was literally 7 to 10 years old. Something just going on with family. My parents were love my parents dearly, but they were married a lot, we moved a lot and there's a lot of insecurity. So that feeling hit me yesterday. So first thing is recognize the fear and call it bullshit. That fear is something that happened to you a long time ago. History doesn't repeat yourself. You're not your family, you're not your parents, you're not your ex, you're not the person with, you're you. You're here right now. That means you're someone working on being better, improving and evolving. You've had massive success, you accomplished so many things, you're a freaking badass. Don't play small. Don't feel small. Don't let a little insecure child or a past experience determine your future. So call that fear out for what it is and let that fear just be calling the lie that it is. So that's the first thing, the second thing, and I got this from my buddy Tony Robbins, who's just magnificent. And I love this, and I'm using the word magnificent is immediately we want to think about what's wrong and write down what's magnificent in your life. So first call the fear out and then write down, literally sit in front of a piece of paper when you're stressed, nervous, anxious, feeling like you can't take action, you're feeling paralyzed. And write down what's already magnificent. And if you say, well, I don't have a lot magnificent. We do, we do. I say this all the time. We got, you know, 150,000 people die a day. We're not one of them today, right? Find something that's magnificent. Write it down. Your family, your kids, the people in your life, the relationships you had or have, the business you're doing, the people you do. And just, just write it down uncontrollably. Just keep writing down. Even if you say there's nothing, find it, write it, write it. So you're, you're calling the old fear out and now you're writing down what's magnificent. And instead of looking forward the third thing. Here's the third thing to kill stress, kill anxiety, is look to the future, pretend it's a year from now. I use this a lot, but just in a different frame. Pretend it's a year from now and just write down the ideal outcome. I know your brain wants to tell you what could go wrong. The relationship ends, the money doesn't come in, the partnership dissolves, the company doesn't work. That's what your brain wants to. I wish I was smart enough to tell you why. You know, it's flight or fight, right? And maybe it's the flight mode of just. No, let's focus on what's wrong so we protect ourselves. Maybe that's the caveman brain. That's not. I'm not the smartest guy in the world to know exactly why, but I know this. We all focus on what can go wrong.
Here's.
I want you to address the fear, call it a lie, write down what's magnificent. And the third thing, like I said, is pretend it's a year from now and everything, everything went right. The relationship worked, the life worked, the business worked, the money's coming in, the deals are happening, the job is working, people are loving you, the family's okay, nobody's sick. I don't know what it is, but write that down. Those three things, those three things will break the pattern. Those three things will break that. That anxiety loop, that worry loop, that stress loop that we're thinking that it's not going to happen, it's not going to work, just like that. Now, again, for me to say, oh, you know, just. Just do that and everything will be fine. That's not the answer. Yesterday, I literally had to do these practices yesterday. Like, not just think about them. I had to sit and write. I had to sit and think. I had to go back into my life and find this fear that was living inside me that I didn't even know existed anymore. Guys, I work on this every day. I have multiple New York Times best sellers on this. It's like, I'm not. I just. I always say that to you. I don't want you to think my life's perfect because I figured this out. It's like going to the gym, which I'm doing right now.
I'm late.
I didn't get here until 3 o' clock in the morning. So go to the gym late. I haven't gone yet. But I wanted to share this message with you guys because it's so important. If you don't go to the gym Every day you get out of shape. If you don't work on you every day, old beliefs, old fears, old patterns will come back into your life and keep you stalled. That's my message for today. Guys, again, if you've never had anxiety, worry, or stress, congratulations. I'm so happy for you. But if you have ever, those three steps usually will kick its ass. And you deserve it. Because then once the glasses are off, the anxiety, the stress, the worry glasses are off, you get a new pair of glasses that are crystal clear, and you can see that bigger future that you guys deserve, you desire.
Think of what we do in life as mapping out new terrain, right? So think of the. Think of our life as like the Earth and we're explorers, right? And some people take one path. They go to work every day, they do the same thing, same couple of friends they do. And that's. And they're okay with this one straight line path. They don't see any of the world. They just. They do this. They go do their thing and they come back. That's one version. And there's some people who say, this path that everybody says is great, this path that everybody, like, says, this is the security, this is the safety. This is how life is supposed to be. It's like, screw that. And they wander off the path, right? If you're here with us today, you're here with me today. You're part of the inner circle. That means that you're someone who's wandered off the path. Congratulations. The path's. The path is what everybody else does. The path that. And if somebody's on it and they're miserable, they want you to be on the path with them. When they see you straying, like, no, no, no, get back on here. It's not safe out there. No, it's not safe on the path. We have one life. We got to squeeze every bit of juice out of this life. You don't want to look back at the end of your life being 100 years old, be in the hospital and go, wow, I walk the same path every day. I'm so glad I played it safe. No, screw that. No one says that shit. The end. You're like, why didn't I step off the path? Why didn't I go for more? Why didn't I tap into my. Why didn't I go after being an artist, go after real estate investing, go after doing my own online business, go after the fitness world, go in the coaching world, go sing? Why? Why didn't I do it? Because someone told you staying on the path was smart. Screw that, get off the path. But if you think about that and you're mapping out terrain. So just think, if we're explorers, if we're on the path, we get to explore new territory. I'm going to read some of these guys. We get to explore new territory. But when you explore new territory, you've kind of mapped out that terrain. Now if you go off the path and you find a cliff, you can mark that. If you find paradise, you could mark that. If you find water, you mark that. You find mountains, you mark that. You find the ocean, you mark it. And all of a sudden you start exploring. For me, going through this process, I mapped out a whole new bunch of terrain. I mapped out, I mapped. Listen, can I tell you something? I feel absolutely, positively bulletproof because I face the biggest fear of my life. There's nothing that can get me. Let me just tell you something. I drive down the road and somebody cuts me off. I wave to them, I order chicken for dinner. They bring me steak well done. I eat the steak well done and say thank you. Because the little shit doesn't matter anymore. If you want another level of life, get bigger problems and solve bigger problems. Literally, solve bigger problems and watch your life go to another level. Watch the little shit fall away. The stuff that used to bug you, be like, why did I let that bug me? Get a deeper set of problems and solve that shit. And when you're done with that, solve the next one. And when you're done with that, solve the next one. Instead of solving a hundred dollar problems. You know what my wish for you is? Solve million dollar problems. They're the same amount of stress. If you need 100 bucks to pay the bill or you need a million, I assure you it's the same stress. So why not add more zeros? Why not? See, I truly believe that the more terrain you map, you can revisit paradise. You know where the danger is, you know where the quicksand is, you know where the anxiety, the stress and the worry is. If you map it out, you can go there, conquer it, and just cross it off the map and never go back there. But if you stay in the path, you just say, oh, it's dangerous out there. And you live that small life. You're here with me because you want a big life. You want your full potential. You don't want my life, you don't want everybody else's life. You want the best version of you life. And I hope today, by being this transparent, that you get to see that. It's that turning your ship towards the storm to face it is really the only way. And a year ago, I'm not sure I believed it because it hurt so bad. So I really appreciate you guys hearing my story, and I hope that through the challenge that I went through, that it inspired you to face your biggest fears, because I know there'll be nothing that can stop you.
