How To Get More Done in Your Life

Dean Graziosi explains how to get more done by opening one garage door at a time. Turn off your phone, set a deadline, and commit to focused blocks on a single task instead of juggling everything at once.

One of the things that I try, I think I'm good at is with so many things going on, I saw this someplace and I've been thinking this way I look in my life, I'm very visual. And these were garage doors, right? And behind every garage door was all the things that you do, whether it's real estate and it's being a parent and it's work and all the things that you do, or you just break it down to real estate, it's marketing. And marketing, it's bandit signs, it's. I didn't mean to write bs, but you know, it's bandit signs, it's Facebook, it's direct mail, right? Here's what I'd suggest. Think of everything you do to avoid overwhelm. Like garage doors. And behind every garage door is each thing that you work on and. And just don't open two garage doors at once. Again, I use simple because I'm a simple thinker. It's like, okay, if I'm gonna attack bandit signs or I'm gonna attack online marketing, or I'm gonna attack Facebook, I'm gonna spend the next hour and I'm gonna shut off my phone, I'm gonna shut off surfing on Instagram or Facebook. I'm gonna shut off thinking about direct mail. I'm not gonna think about if that deal closes, I'm not gonna think about what contract I'm gonna get. I'm not gonna think if I got a buyer this week or I don't. I'm not gonna think if my spouse is going to support me or not. In that hour or half hour, I open that one garage door and I know I can go deeper faster than anybody in my space because that's all I'm focusing on. And even if you got 10 minutes of focused energy, it will outdo hours of non committed work. How many times you said, oh, I just spent the last couple hours getting something done. But you know, you're online and you went and checked your bank account and then you're like, oh, look at that shiny object. Oh, I can't believe he said that. And all of a sudden you're going down this string and then you go back to your work and. And then your phone buzzes and you check your text. Oh, that was funny. And then you work a little and you go, oh, let me see. Did I get any likes on that picture I put up the other day? And then you're like. And you go back, you're like, oh, I spent two hours working on bandit signs. Bullshit bs. That's why I wrote it. You spent like six minutes on it. Start realizing that the faster and deeper you're focused on what can move the needle, the quicker you can get to that next level. You guys know when you need. How about as entrepreneurs, people? I know I'm a deadline type person. I work the best when it's a deadline. But did you ever have something you really had to get done and you procrastinated? You said, I'll get to it later, and all of a sudden it's like an hour away and you knocked the whole thing out. When you told everybody, it's going to take me a week to do that, and you did the whole thing in. Well, I say an hour. You did the whole thing in like 18 minutes, right? That's because it was dedicated and focused because you had to get it done. What if you treated everything like a deadline all the time? What if you just said, next Tuesday at 2, I'm going to figure out how to market on Facebook, and that's the deadline. I'm going to be done by the end of the day on Tuesday. You'd get it done. Does that make sense? You guys ready to take action? What's up? What's up? Hey, before you go, you need to watch these next few videos. They're absolute game changers. Hurry up and click right over here and watch them and I'll see you there. It.
